Chapter 395: Back To Lireya

"Marx, is it you?" Princess Amaya’s voice quivered when she asked softly.

The man’s body tensed, and in a hoarse voice, he replied, "You’ve confused

with soone else, Princess."

Princess Amaya felt disappointed. Was she wrong? Why would he deny being Marx? Did he no longer want her? Did he have soone new in his heart?

In the stillness of the night, Princess Amaya stealthily made her way back to her bedroom, the soft glow of the moonlight illuminating her path. It was around 4:00 a.m., and a sense of urgency filled the air as she wanted to inspect the data that had been stolen by ExZee. Yet, weariness weighed heavily upon her, and after a soothing bath, she succumbed to the embrace of sleep.

"I’m sorry, Aya. The ti isn’t right," whispered the shadow as it bent down to gently kiss the sleeping figure on the forehead before slipping out through the window.

That morning, online news outlets were abuzz with reports of a tragic car collision on Highway 55 that resulted in the loss of 10 lives.

In the elegant study of a grand mansion located to the south of Uropa’s Capital City, a man sat on the edge of a spacious king-sized bed, his face contorted with anger. He had barely settled in for the night when one of his subordinates knocked urgently on his door, interrupting his attempt to drift off to sleep.

"Supre Leader, I regret to inform you that the specialized team we deployed to investigate the suspicious vehicle has t with a tragic accident. Regrettably, ten of our team mbers have lost their lives, while the remaining twelve, including the pilot, have been taken captive and are currently undergoing interrogation at the local police station."

"Useless! All of you are useless!" The man on the bed was furious.

Jason kept his head down while kneeling on his right knee.

"Deal with the captives as I instructed. Now, get out of my sight!" the supre leader bellowed, grabbing a small lampshade from his side table and hurling it at Jason.

Jason didn’t dare to evade. He was aware that whether he chose to dodge or not, if the supre leader had any intention of causing him harm, then harm would befall him.

The small lamp missed his face by just one centiter and hit the wall behind him.

"Get out!" bellowed the supre leader, his hand shaking as he pointed toward the door.

Jason did not waste ti. He scrambled out of the room in relief.

The middle-aged man closed his eyes and sat on the bed. His back was straight, and his aura radiated with anger.

He was grappling with a series of mishaps, desperately attempting to pinpoint where it all went astray. After an extended period, he clenched his fist and his eyes narrowed, brimming with intense fury.

"It is him! It should be him! Damn It!"

...

Lireyan International Airport...

Princess Amaya disembarked from her luxurious private jet, with Layla by her side and the rest of his bodyguards trailing closely behind except for Leon.

Leon made an unusual request to remain in Uropa, citing that his contractual obligation was to ensure the safety of the Princess exclusively within the borders of Uropa, so he said he did not need to follow them to Lireya.

The Princess, being rational, had granted permission to release Leon. Despite this, she couldn’t shake the unexplainable sense of emptiness she felt.

As Princess Amaya trodded gracefully on the tarmac, she was feeling nostalgic. The number of tis she had been at the airport since she was rescued had exceeded the number of fingers on her hands. Yet, every ti she got off the plane, she would rember the first ti she set foot on the soil of Lireya.

Upon her arrival, the people of Lireya greeted her with open arms, showering her with warmth and hospitality that left a lasting impression on her heart and mind.

However, as she made her way through the airport, it appeared eerily deserted.

"Don’t be sad, Princess. I am pretty sure that His Majesty has prepared sothing for you." Layla walked briskly behind her.

"I am not thinking about that, Layla. The pandemic has not eased out yet, so, understandably, people would be cautious and not expose themselves unnecessarily." Princess Amaya paused and had a solemn expression.

"I just rembered the first ti I touched Lireya’s ground; there was so much fanfare. I was so scared of the drum beats; fortunately, Marx was there."

Amaya smiled, but it did not reach her eyes.

"Yeah, I rembered that. I was part of the band. I played the drums." Layla laughed lightly as she fell in step beside the princess. They were walking toward the exit.

"Sister!" a tall and handso young man ca from behind a pillar, followed by more than ten n wearing high-collard jackets in a deep navy shade.

The crown prince approached Princess Amaya in huge strides and hugged her.

"Thank God you are alright. We are all worried and scared." Prince Donello spoke gently.

Princess Amaya ruffled the thick black hair of her younger brother. Prince Donello frowned and stepped back to evade the Princess’s hand.

Princes Amaya chuckled.

"I am fine. I am very healthy, and I have immunity to the virus," Princess Amaya said as her gaze darted as if looking for the others.

"Grandpa and Father are dealing with so state matters, so they could not co. We should head back to the palace now. You can tell

what happened during the siege of Crystal Hotel on the way ho."

Princess Amaya nodded and followed the crown prince to the designated VIP waiting area. A black Maybach car was already waiting for them.

"There are only very few people in the airport. I didn’t expect Lireya to be severely impacted." Princess Amaya sighed.

"We have only a few cases of infection. Nevertheless, people are still scared of the virus, so they seldom leave their hos."

"Hmm." Princess Amaya just humd.

"Sis, sothing serious happened at the palace!" Donello finally said to break the awkward silence.

"What do you an?"
