Chapter 34: Business Partners

"Aya, do you plan to tell your Daddy Ibarra about the treasures?"

"I don’t know Marx. Do I need to tell him?" She asked in an innocent voice.

"I gave him a hint. He is a smart person. However, the more person who knows about the treasures, the more dangerous it will be for you." Marx said. He sounded worried.

Marx took out a red shopping bag. "Flint has completed the jewelry you designed for your sister and stepmother and the totem necklace for your little brother. See for yourself." Marx handed her the bag.

Amaya took out the first exquisite red velvet box. She opened it and smiled with satisfaction when she saw the beautiful flower pendant and the matching earrings made from ruby. The pendant was a fully blood Middlemist’s Red Calla and nine tiny flower buds were placed on both sides as if they were vines climbing and hugging the golden chain.

For the earrings, a fully blood flower hugged the lobe of the ears, and there was a dangling piece of a one-centiter golden chain with a tiny flower bud suspended at the end. All other parts of the jewelry were made of 18k gold, as recomnded by the jeweler Flint Stone.

"Isn’t this beautiful Marx?" She put on the necklace and showed it to Marx.

"It’s beautiful. It’s your design, after all." The necklace made her neck look slimr.

Amaya checked out the tiara for Princess Nelida. She altered her design to accommodate Flint’s suggestions to make it more fitting for Princess Nelida’s age and status. The tiara was made of rubies, tiny diamonds, and 18-karat gold.

For Donnello, she selected the most durable and best-looking wolf fang from her collection and had it made into a wolf head on a wolf fang totem pendant. The wolf head and the chain were made from platinum alloyed with iridium.

"Flint’s craftsmanship is very good." Amaya was very happy with her gifts.

"He is actually the best jeweler in Usturia so he should be good," Marx replied.

"Aya, why don’t you convert those gemstones into pieces of jewelry and sell them through an auction or you can put your own jewelry shop?" Marx has pondered about it and decided it will be the best way to dispose of the gemstones that Amaya has in her possession.

Amaya’s eyes widened. What Marx said piqued her interest.

"Really, I can do that?"

"Why not? You can do anything you want."

Amaya beca excited. She carelessly put her two feet together on the couch, exposing her thighs and legs as her skirt was pulled down. It did not escape Marx’s eyes.

Marx cleared his throat.

"Aya, don’t be careless with how you sit. You can’t sit like that when you are with other people or when you are in the public." Marx tried to sound as gentle as possible.

To Amaya, he sounded like her daddy scolding her when she did sothing she was not supposed to.

She gave him a sheepish grin. "Oops. Sorry. But since it is just you here, I can sit this way, right? It’s comfortable."

Marx was speechless. After so ti, he sighed exasperated and forced himself to look away. ’This girl doesn’t really know what she is doing. I am just an ordinary man with desires.’

"Oh Marx, we can be business partners since half of the treasures belonged to you. I can draw a lot of designs." She blurted excitedly and hers were bright like there were a lot of ideas going in her head.

Marx hasn’t really considered claiming half the treasures as his own. He has a lot of money. However, he liked the idea of a partnership. It ant that he and Amaya would have many dealings in the future.

"That’s a good idea. We can open a branch here in Usturia and in Lireya." Marx played along.

"But I don’t know about running a jewelry shop," Amaya said, frowning a little.

"Silly girl, you don’t have to do it yourself. You can hire people to do it for you. Besides, you can learn it."

"You are the best Marx." She quickly kissed Marx on the cheek.

Marx was caught in surprise. His heart thumped.

"I’ll have soone do the paperwork. You should think of a company na."

"Hmmm. How about Hidden Jewels? Or Island’s Treasure Chest? Or Simply Jewels?" Amaya enurated the nas she had in her mind.

Eventually, she decided on Simply Jewels.

"Simply Jewels it is then. I’ll take care of everything." Marx said.

"Why are you so good to , Marx?" Amaya asked.

"You saved my life and your Daddy entrusted you to ." He replied. ’And because I like you.’ He added silently.

"And why do you trust ? I can run away with your treasures you know." Marx said bluntly.

"I just feel it in my heart that I can trust you. I feel that you will protect

just as Daddy did." Amaya shared what was in her heart.

Marx looked gloomy.

"Are you taking

as your father?" Marx sounded irritated.

"No, I don’t an that," Amaya responded. ’Is Marx angry?’ she asked herself.

" You are my close friend. The first one I ever had." She added.

Marx was relieved. He was only twenty-six years old, after all.

At dinner that evening, Amaya suddenly asked Prince Ibarra.

"Daddy, when we go back to Lireya can I go to school?" She asked with eyes full of expectations. She wasn’t looking at the Crown Prince. She was looking at her Daddy Ibrahim.

Prince Ibarra stopped eating and looked at Amaya.

"There is no need for you to go to school. We can just hire tutors for you at the palace."

Marx paused. He looked at Prince Ibarra and silently cursed him.

Amaya was crestfallen. She has imagined attending the sa university her Daddy attended.

Marx was about to express his thoughts when Amaya spoke softly.

"Do my little brother and sister also not attend school, Daddy?" Amaya asked innocently.

Prince Ibarra was dumbfounded.

Marx smirked.

"Ah, they are going to school but they started when they were little." He said with difficulty. How can he explain to her that it will be awkward if she joined a school with elentary students at her age and height? Wouldn’t it be embarrassing?
