Chapter 317: In The Eye Of The Storm : Bring Him Alive
Just as Amaya started to panic, a thin rope wrapped around her waist and pulled her away from the path of the water.
She looked up and saw Luciano firmly suspended in mid-air, securely fastened by a thin rope tightly anchored to the rock wall of the cliff. The end of the rope was equipped with a powerful suction chanism, ensuring that he remained firmly in place.
Luciano lowered himself until he was face to face with Princess Amaya.
"Warning! Weight overload. The suction will disengage in 90 seconds," a chanical male voice sounded from the watch.
"Marx.." Amaya whispered anxiously.
"WT-R23PO Disengage. The passcode is 1431." Luciano spoke in Marx’s voice, and the watch unlocked from his wrist.
"Listen to , Aya. The rope can only hold one of us. I am giving this to you. Help will arrive in a few minutes, so hang on." He took the watch from his wrist and put it on Amaya’s left hand.
"No, Marx! We should face this together." Amaya protested.
Marx silenced her with a kiss.
Amaya also worked fast. After issuing the command to disengage, she removed her watch and placed it on Luciano’s wrist.
"Then you have to use mine. I will see you later. I love you." Amaya kissed him back.
"Ten seconds for the suction to disengage."
Ten...
Nine...
Eight...
Seven...
Six..
"I love Aya. Be careful! See you later." Marx cut the rope from his waist. He gave Amaya one final kiss on the lips.
Three...
Marx let go of the thin rope.
"Marx! No!" Amaya cried.
Marx tried to break his fall by using the watch to create air resistance. He also pressed a hidden button on his shirt and cycling shorts, inflating his clothes by ten centiters. He looked up and saw Amaya still dangling in the air.
When he dived to follow Amaya, he pressed the SOS button on his watch, and a chopper from their base on the North of Amaya’s Verde Island should arrive in 15 to 30 minutes.
Marx looked down at the jagged rocks below. He tried to push his body forward and calculated the trajectory so he could fall further into the sea and avoid the rocks.
Interestingly, a pigeon passed by, its eyes watching Marx intently. Marx raised his arm, and a small dart flew and hit the pigeon. It fell into the sea.
Vasquez was helpless when he saw Princess Amaya dangling on the side of the cliff. The drone passed by her. His mission was to protect Marx first. He increased the speed of the drone, and it descended faster. Its 360-degree cara captured everything around, and Vasques saw that Marx was trying to veer away from the jagged rocks below. He was falling diagonally, and his distance from the water surface was about the height of a twenty-story building. He could clear the jagged rock and safely land on the water based on his trajectory.
From the drone’s cara, Vasquez noticed different kinds of birds flying in the vicinity. There were at least twelve of them. They surrounded Marx as if looking at him from different angles.
Vasquez checked on Princess Amaya. Only two birds were flying around her.
The bulky bodyguard manipulated the drone and shot down two birds. The remaining ten suddenly ford a V formation and were attacking the drone.
The drone spewed small bullets, and the birds fell one by one. The last pair of birds was very angry. They opened their mouths, and a silver tal ca out.
"Damn it! They are also drones. I thought they were real birds." Vasquez cursed. The drone barely dodged the bullet.
He fired a series of bullets and finally hit the two birds, but his drone was also out of bullets.
Marx was falling steadily at a slow speed. Suddenly, an eagle dived from the west part of the rock enclosure of the secret lagoon. His target was the black control in Vasquez’s hand.
Vasquez was unprepared. The eagle’s powerful talons snatched the remote control and even wounded Vasquez’s right hand.
Vasquez cursed.
The drone spiraled downward and hit the back of Marx’s head. The last thing that Vasquez saw on his eyeglasses that projected the visuals from the drone’s cara was the blood gushing out of the back of Marx’s head as it drooped. He lost consciousness.
"Oh, Shit! John, we have a situation. What is the ETA of the boat and the helicopter?"
"They will be here in fifteen minutes."
Still dangling from the air, Amaya noticed the two birds flying around her as if surrounding her. She observed the bird and noticed that there was sothing wrong. They were not ordinary birds, or rather, they were not real birds.
As an additional protective asure, on top of her protective vest, she wore a hidden chanism on her wrist every ti she went out. The chanism was an improved version of what her Daddy Ibrahim built for her. The chanism was hidden under her skin by a protective layer of a substance that resembled her skin.
She flexed her wrist and a thin tube protruded from her skin. She pressed above her wrist with her left thumb. A silver flash shot out of the tiny tube, striking both birds in quick succession. They fell soundlessly into the void below.

In a massive mansion situated atop a hill in Uropa, a man dressed in a black robe and a black hoodie was intently observing the events unfolding in Lireya. The walls of the room were adorned with hundreds of 190-centiter monitors, each displaying feeds from various locations across the four continents.
He was fixated on the two monitors displaying data feed from Lireya. One monitor showed a woman suspended in the air, while the other showed a man falling diagonally, seemingly defying the laws of gravity.
It was unclear whether the masked man was young or old. The black mask covered his entire face, except for his black eyes, the tip of his nose, and his thin, straight lips.
"It’s intriguing. How did he manage to accomplish all of that? Where did the thin rope co from? How did he alter his trajectory and break his fall? And how did he shoot down our drone?"
The man emitting a powerful and oppressive aura conversed with four holographic n, observing the sa scenes.
"Forget about the Princess. I’m interested in her bodyguard. Make sure to bring him to
alive." His voice has the capability to elicit fear even amongst the most powerful leaders of the big countries.
"Yes, Almighty Zeus. We will surely bring him here alive."
The two monitors feeding data from Lireya turned black.
