Chapter 260: The King’s Woman

Marx followed the sound of the voice. He saw Lady Sofia sitting on the ground and she was trying to massage her ankle. It was obvious that she strained her ankle.

"What are you waiting for? My leg is hurting and I cannot stand. Aren’t you going to help

up?" Sofia asked pleadingly.

"I dare not touch the King’s woman. Let

call for help." Marx tapped a button on his wristwatch.

Sofia gritted her teeth. ’How co he is not acting according to the script? Shouldn’t he pick

up and carry

princess style?’

In less than a minute a lean guard appeared and approached Sofia.

"Let

help you, My Lady." The guard said politely. She bent down and picked up Sofia. She was one of the guards assigned to Amaya. For convenience, there was always a female guard assigned to her.

Sofia furtively glanced at Marx. Her sches failed. Just how careful and smart was he?

When they arrived at the campsite, Sofia directed the guard to take her to her tent. She asked her maid to apply the ointnt to her ankle and she limped out of the tent to join the rest for the announcent of the winners.

The elite guards from Lireya have arrived and they were talking to Prince Sapiro and Princess Amaya. They were ordered that they should take the Princess back to Lireya imdiately.

King Ralden heard the commotion and went out of his tent together with the general.

"Greetings, Your Majesty." The head of the elite guards greeted the king respectfully. "We are here to take the first princess back to Lireya."

"The ceremony will end in an hour. You go with us to the Palace and have lunch. Then you can take the princess back."

Sapiro agreed to what the king said.

The elite guards however do not answer to no one except the King of Lireya.

"Our apologies, Your Majesty. We have an order to take the princess with us as soon as we arrive here."

King Ralden pursed his lips.

"It is okay. Let us stay until the ceremony is over and then we can leave after that. I will call Grandpa to talk to you if needed." Amaya interjected.

"Then, we will wait for the Princess." The head guard said respectfully.

Sapiro cleansed his fists. These guards did not give him face at all. When he was the one who told them to stay, they did not agree, but when it was Amaya, they said it was okay to stay.

The ga master announced the winners of the hunting competition. Naturally, it was Princess Amaya and Lady Sofia. The contenders were ashad because they lost to two seemingly weak won.

However, to the surprise of everyone, Princess Amaya said that she wanted to forfeit. She said that hunting was her way of life and it was unfair to others. But she wanted to take her spoils, which consisted of the three horses they caught in Mount Janai and the little cub whose mother she killed.

A group of people were happy about Amaya’s decision. Those were the people who won the second place.

General Maza still has designs on the white horses. Many people attempted to capture these pure white horses but they failed.

It was not only the general who had such an idea. Even Sofia also liked to have those horses.

The ga master reminded everyone of the rule. Princess Amaya can take with her the prey that she captured alive.

After the awarding ceremony, King Ralden invited Princess Amaya inside his tent. Marx and Vasquez followed but they were blocked by a few palace guards.

"Do not worry. Nothing will happen to the princess." A calm and deep voice ca from the inside.

King Ralden was very good at hypnotism. He tried to hypnotize Amaya but unfortunately, Amaya was strong-willed.

The king thought that he successfully placed Amaya under his control. He asked questions about what Amaya saw in the forest. Amaya’s answers were consistent with what she shared earlier.

"How did you escape from Mount Paraiso? People who entered the mountain could co out alive. If one is lucky enough to co out, his injuries would be very severe."

"I am lucky then. Besides we have weapons to protect us," Amaya replied.

King Ralden did not find additional useful information from Amaya. He clicked his fingers in front of Amaya who ca out from her trance.

King Ralden passed her an exquisite wooden box.

"Please bring them as a gift to your Grandfather."

Amaya thanked the king and accepted the gift box.

King Ralden walked her out of the tent.

"Thank you for letting my n see such a magical creature." King Ralden spoke gently. He was waiting for Princess Amaya to give the horse to him but Amaya did not do so.

King Ralden chuckled silently.

’Ra-Iya’s hunters are useless. They have been scouring the mountain ranges for a long ti but no one caught a white horse." King Ralden lanted.

"I suppose I am just lucky," Amaya murmured softly.

"That is an undeniable fact, Princess!" King Ralden said.

Amaya was surprised to discover Marx and Vasquez standing outside the tent.

"Are we ready to go? Amaya asked.

Marx looked around. The elite guards were already prepared and just waiting for the Princess.

"I think it is ti to go, Your Majesty. Thank you for your hospitality."

"Are you sure you don’t want to stay for lunch?"

"No need, Your Majesty."

King Ralden frowned.

"But it is almost lunch and you still need to travel so distance. There are a lot of prey that were cooked today and there are not too many people to eat them."

Amaya thought for a while. King Ralden has a point. Besides, they also had to wait for a bigger vehicle to transport the three horses to the airstrip where the Lireyan aircraft taxied.

Princess Amaya approached the head of the guard. She told him that they would have their lunch first before going.

The head of the guard was distressed. Won were indeed fickle minded.
