"Haha, we’re all in the sa room!"
Blake exclaid loudly, throwing his arms in the air as if they had just won sothing. His voice carried through the room with unrestrained energy, making the already cramped space feel even noisier.
"Ugh..."
"What luck..."
Curtis and Raven groaned at the exact sa ti, their tones overlapping perfectly. Both of them frowned as though the announcent was a curse rather than sothing to celebrate.
"Haha..."
anwhile, Alec just gave a soft, awkward laugh, scratching his cheek as he tried to lighten the mood but failed to hide his uncertainty.
After getting greeted by Ruby and Keara earlier, the entire [CLASS A-1] had been led by the two to a large building that looked more like a high-class hotel than just a dormitory. Inside, Ruby had stood at the front and quickly organized their rooming arrangents.
The system was simple enough— four people per room, and of course, separated by gender.
As a result, Raven, Blake, Alec, and Curtis found themselves stuck together in the sa room. Right now, the four were unpacking their belongings in their own ways.
On the other hand, Eve, Adelle, Aoi, and Jeanna had been assigned a room together as well.
"There...!"
Blake grunted before tossing the last of his bags on top of his bed, not even bothering to organize anything. With a satisfied grin, he dusted his hands dramatically as though he had completed a huge task.
"Hmm, this is good, I guess...?"
Alec, on the other hand, was trying to be neat. He carefully stacked his clothes, though his idea of "organized" still looked like a pile that could collapse at any mont. His brows furrowed in concentration, but his corner of the room didn’t exactly give off a neat impression.
"Haaa, they have no class."
Curtis muttered under his breath, shaking his head in mild disappointnt. Compared to their ss, he had already finished unpacking with thodical precision. His corner looked neat and tidy, as if he had done this countless tis before.
He let out a quiet sigh of relief, proud of his efficiency, before his gaze slid to the side.
"...?"
Swoosh~
There, his eyes caught sight of Raven. The guy wasn’t moving his hands much at all. Instead, all of his belongings floated effortlessly in the air, guided by his psychokinesis.
Fwip-
Shirts folded themselves, books stacked neatly into drawers, and small items lined up perfectly. Everything moved smoothly, as though Raven had rehearsed this countless tis.
’Is he being lazy... or is that just him being overly efficient?’
Curtis thought to himself, baffled. He crossed his arms as he observed Raven, unsure whether to call it impressive or just ridiculous.
Not long after, Raven finished putting everything away, his side of the room looking spotless. Then, with a casual wave of his hand—
"[Cleanse]"
A gentle glow washed over him and his bed. Dust, dirt, and unseen impurities vanished in an instant.
"Bruh..."
Curtis let the sound slip out, unable to hold it back. His jaw slackened just slightly as disbelief colored his expression.
’He’s really a freak... a clean freak... a weirdo.’
He muttered inwardly, shaking his head in resignation.
But Raven wasn’t done yet. His eyes shifted toward Blake’s and Alec’s ssy areas.
"..."
A frown pulled at his lips, irritation evident.
Fwip—
Raven raised his hand lazily. Then in his mind—
’[Psychokinesis]’
He activated his skill.
SWOOSH~
"Huh?"
"Wha-?!"
Both Blake and Alec flinched as their belongings suddenly floated into the air. Shirts, pants, even random trinkets they had dumped carelessly on their beds— everything lifted all at once.
FWOOSH—
The objects zipped through the air, folding and stacking themselves with chanical efficiency. Drawers opened on their own, clothes tucking themselves inside. While it wasn’t as neat as Raven’s or even Curtis’, it was still leagues better than the ss from before.
"..."
"..."
"..."
Curtis, Alec, and Blake.
The three of them stood in silence, staring at the results. The room suddenly looked much tidier.
"Let’s go."
Raven broke the silence with his calm, blunt voice. Without waiting for their reactions, he started walking toward the door.
"..."
The remaining three exchanged looks, still processing what had just happened. Then, almost at the sa ti, their thoughts aligned—
’His control over that skill is just getting better and better.’
The admiration, though unspoken, echoed among them.
Without dwelling on it further, they quickly followed after Raven. After all, Ruby had instructed them earlier to head to the dining floor once they finished unpacking.
(The dining floor was located on the second floor.)
*****
At the dining floor...
"Yo! You guys got here first, huh?"
Blake’s loud greeting rang out the mont he spotted Eve, Aoi, and Adelle already seated. His cheerful tone made the three girls look up, and he and the others imdiately walked over to join them.
"Yeah, our floor is just above this, that’s why. What about you guys?"
Adelle answered, gesturing with her spoon before popping another bite into her mouth. Her tone was light, but curiosity flickered in her eyes.
"Oh, we’re on the fifth floor."
Alec responded as he slid into the empty seat.
"Anyway, do you guys have any idea why we were called here?"
Curtis asked, folding his arms while his sharp gaze landed on the girls.
Adelle, Aoi, and Eve all shook their heads almost simultaneously.
"We all don’t even know what we’re going to do on this field trip."
Eve added firmly, her lips pursed into a thin line.
They had actually tried prying information out of the sophomores and tertiaries, but no matter how much they pressed Lillen, Lana, or the other [Student Council] mbers, they couldn’t get a single hint.
It was frustrating.
Normally, a school field trip ant sightseeing, relaxing, or at worst, so light research assignnts. But this was [Lunar Academy]. Here, nothing was ever that simple.
’Field trip is just a pretext... we’re probably here to train as well.’
The shared thought hovered over all of them like an unspoken truth.
Their group sat at a round table. Plates of food had already been set before them, and the atmosphere filled with clinking utensils and the soft hum of chatter from nearby tables.
But suddenly—
"...!"
Adelle froze mid-bite, her eyes widening slightly. Sothing clicked in her mind. She slowly turned her head, and the others, curious about her sudden movent, followed her gaze.
Their eyes collectively landed on Raven.
"Hmm? Why?"
Raven tilted his head, clearly sensing their stares. He wasn’t eating. Instead, he had casually slid his plate toward Blake, who was already devouring the food with an expression of blissful stupidity.
But that wasn’t the reason they stared.
"Do you know sothing, Raven?"
Adelle finally voiced the question, leaning slightly forward.
Her intuition nagged at her. Sohow, Raven always seed to know more than he let on.
"..."
The rest waited quietly, anticipation thick in the air.
Then after a while—
"Maybe?"
Raven replied, his voice calm and teasing, shoulders shrugging lightly as if brushing it off.
"..."
Eve, Curtis, and Aoi frowned almost instantly at the evasive answer.
"Haha..."
"Thought so..."
Blake and Alec only chuckled, both already used to Raven’s way of answering.
Adelle sighed softly, lowering her gaze back to her food.
’At least I tried asking.’
She told herself, forcing her attention back to her plate.
Anyway, monts later—
"Attention!"
The commanding voice from earlier rang out across the dining floor.
All eyes turned toward the center, where Ruby stood on a small platform. Keara stood beside her with an eager smile, while Levina peeked from beneath her coat.
-Kyuuu!
SWOOSH~
Yuki darted from Keara’s head, flying straight to Raven in a blur of excitent.
"Haha, hello."
Raven greeted warmly, letting the little creature perch on his head. Alec and the others greeted Yuki as well.
Ruby scanned the crowd, nodded once, and raised her voice again.
"As you already know, this isn’t just a normal field trip. We’re not here just to visit the place and do whatever."
The room imdiately fell into silence. Every freshman leaned forward, attention locked on her.
"The real reason why we’re here—"
She paused briefly.
Fwoosh~
A transparent system window flared to life behind her, projected from a device Keara was holding. Two bold words filled the display.
=====
[Outside Experience]
"You’re all here to gain experience from the outside of the Human Domain."
Ruby’s voice was calm, but her smirk hinted at the challenge behind her words.
"..."
The students weren’t exactly shocked. They had expected sothing like this.
But Ruby wasn’t finished.
"Oh, we’re going to have you camp outside the gate too— for two days straight."
Her words dropped like a bomb.
"...!"
"?!"
"!!!"
Gasps, murmurs, and whispers erupted across the dining floor.
The students were taken aback.
Yes, they had braced themselves for danger outside the gates, but they had assud they’d return to the safety of the city by nightfall.
But now? They were expected to sleep and survive out there, exposed, with no walls or whatsoever.
The realization sent unease rippling through every student.
Even Alec, Adelle, Aoi, and Eve widened their eyes in disbelief.
Well... everyone except—
’Hmm, nothing changed. That’s good.’
Raven, of course.
