By her own power, Chaira had returned the room to what it was when I had first set foot in.

In a dreadful way, the silence was beautiful. No one talking, just a bunch of frozen won and a cooling corpse.

"Where did you get this?"

Forgetting the spectacle she had just created, the redhead’s problem at the mont seed to be spell breaker. The infatuated expression the woman had on didn’t sit right with , and on hearing her question, I put my guard up.

"Sorry, can’t tell you that. Very personal secrets."

"Hmm, really? Are you sure? I’m busy and didn’t want to, but it seems I’ll have to take it back to my lab and study. Add it to my piling list of projects."

As Ciara spoke, she looked up at with a telling smile. If I did not behave, she might as well confiscate my weapon in the na of curiosity.

How far the woman was willing to go with her threat, I wasn’t sure, because there were hitches. For example, I was more valuable to have than the weapon.

Deciding not to go down whatever path Chiara was setting, I made my own demonstration. One second, Spell Breaker was in Chiara’s hand, and the next in mine.

As I perford the act, I keenly kept an eye on Chiara to see how she would react, and it was eye-opening to see her eyes narrow just before the trick occurred.

"Interesting," the woman muttered, unbothered by what I held. "Since you won’t tell about your weapon, would you at least tell who you are?"

"Marcus Lawson. Billionaire, philanthropist, and sugar daddy."

"Sugar daddy," Chiara mouthed playfully, her gaze beca suggestive for a mont, then it suddenly disappeared like it had never been there.

Chiara’s expression turned to one of serenity, and before I could speak, there was movent at the back.

Rember I said three nuns were putting on a black outfit in the room? Well, one of the nuns got out of Chiara’s illusion, and it wasn’t Miriam or the enchanting brunette.

Her butt imdiately fell on the bench behind her, her breath heavy and resounding through the room.

"Chiara, I had nothing to do with this." Those were the first words to leave the woman’s lips, and they ca out with a tremble.

"Not even a clue?"

"Nothing, Mada, I swear." The woman said, getting up from her seat quickly and stepping onto the aisle, intending to reach Chiara.

The woman had no regard for ; the way her eyes shifted and her fists gripped was telling of the fear she currently felt.

In a pitiful sight, though, after just two steps, the woman collapsed, barely catching herself on her knees. Her body shivered all over like death was behind her, and she had just begun desperately crawling forward when Chiara spoke, the sound of her voice stilling her.

"Leave," Chiara spoke softly, but her words penetrated every ear, yet the woman on the floor remained unmoving.

There was a certain fear in her gaze, one that spoke of uncertainty, she anticipated the worst. "The only reason you escaped my illusion is because I let you. Now leave."

It took the woman a few seconds, but quickly she pushed up from the floor. Giving Chiara one last fearful glance, and even looking at , she turned and hightailed out of the room.

The short episode left the room in silence for so seconds, and I broke it.

"I can feel her power. She isn’t a pushover. Are you that scary?"

"I’m very, very good at breaking people," Chiara spoke slowly, each word making my mind conjure up horrible scenarios, but I was not deterred.

"I’d like to see you at work soti."

"Oh, that won’t be a problem."

The redhead turned to Miriam’s frozen form which stood at the back of the room.

Her eyes went to so nuns still seated, then she turned forward to the two females ahead. Chiara’s lips opened as she stared at the veiled woman; my eyes narrowed as I sought to know her mystery, but then Chiara’s mouth closed and she turned to .

"You didn’t step into my illusion even for a second. Your mind must be blessed, or your thods unfathomable."

"Thanks," I shrugged, having no intention to share my secrets, but apparently, I read Chiara’s curiosity wrongly.

"So then how did it happen?"

I was first lost. "Huh?"

"The parasite in your head."

I did my best, but I couldn’t stop myself from stiffening up just the slightest, and Chiara’s hawk eyes caught it. "So, you’re aware."

"Yes."

"Why haven’t you taken it out?"

I shifted my gaze from Chiara reluctantly, and the woman got the answer; her expression slightly twisted. Irrespective of her ans, I knew if I pitted Isolde against Chiara, she would be completely crushed, yet the parasite had seemingly outdone the redhead.

"Want to help you remove it?"

"No."

"Smart boy."

I was already beaten from Isolde’s little tinkering, the last thing I wanted was an expert like Chiara fiddling around in my brain. I would never trust my thoughts.

"Irrespective though," Chiara suddenly started, "I cannot allow any leaks." Chiara brought her hands together, her fingers forming a triangle, then there was an explosion of ichor from her.

I had kept my guard up, but nothing could protect from the bright light that appeared. I went blind; my limbs turned heavy like an extre amount of weight had been wrapped around them. Then, like a switch had been flipped, everything returned to normal.

"My Psion." Not a second later, I noticed the only difference: I could still very much feel my Psion, but I had lost all ability to control it.

"So that’s how it is," Chiara’s voice sounded.

"Don’t pee your pants, you’ll get it back when you leave this room."

"What did you find out?" My eyes narrowed.

Chiara already had a giant hand over , my secrets were my ace against her. "That you possess a good amount of Psion.

You’re not the unblemished innocent I thought you were." Looking from , unbothered by my contemplative look, Chiara slightly cocked her head as she observed the enchanting nun, then turned to the veiled woman not too far away.

"Lucy, I know you’re awake."
