"I am God."
Watching the scene, I cringed, feeling pity for the boy who had to hear that... and for the man who had to stoop so low.
"Handso bastard."
I couldn't deny it. Mr. Cringe was handso. But ignoring that, I scratched my head, trying to see if I had t him sowhere before.
I even wondered if the man was Regan in a different form, but no, Regan was nowhere near as handso as this guy. I was far better-looking than Regan.
With a pitch like that, what chance did Tobi's little mind stand?
What followed was complete brainwashing, and then the scene changed.
The last one had taken four minutes, leaving with just five minutes. Believing my mission was done, I had begun relaxing…
That was when the next scene appeared, and I raised an eyebrow.
"Is that cocaine?"
The scene was muddled, flickering on and off like Tobi's mory processor was lagging, which it definitely was.
However, one thing I could tell from the scene was that Tobi felt very happy.
I didn't see Tobi take any cocaine.
What I saw were so kids excitedly sniffing white powder off a table, their parents cheering them on.
"I didn't sign up for this shit," I thought to myself, watching until the scene was over.
Surprisingly, another scene ca in.
Mr. God appeared again, this ti not hoodwinking kids. Instead, he was trying to seduce a woman.
And… he clearly wasn't succeeding, considering he slapped the woman a few seconds later.
"Bad stuff to be showing kids," I muttered to myself and then frowned.
"But what does Tobi find pleasing about this scene?"
We were in a dimly lit room, red bulbs blinking on one side of the wall, a couch in the corner, and a table with jars of red liquid.
Feeling Tobi's emotions, I sensed a strong anticipation building in him, but I couldn't figure out why.
Right now, the only thing happening was Mr. God grabbing the lady and delivering a really nasty slap to her cheek.
He then grabbed the woman's dress, ripping the sleeves of her shirt, clearly ready to do more… before suddenly stopping and turning to Tobi, who was the only other person in the room.
Wordlessly, he dropped the woman and led Tobi out.
I made sure to morize the woman's long blue hair and her abused face.
"Should I explore?"
The last ti I explored a dream, back with Denise, I still rembered how her spiking emotions had sent running back.
I considered moving closer to the downed woman to see if I could learn more, but then an intense wave of happiness surged through .
I instantly knew I had to be wherever Tobi was.
A step into the next room, where Tobi and Mr. God had gone, made squint from the sudden bright light.
And the next second, my eyes widened like saucers.
"Mommy!"
Yes, that was Tobi, crying out in pure joy, jumping up and down like he had won the lottery, if he even knew what it ant to win a lottery.
The reason for his happiness stood inside a lit rectangular glass case.
Going by Tobi's cries and the fact that the woman inside the glass resembled the woman from his first dream scene, it was safe to say this was Tobi's mom.
And most importantly, her chest was steadily rising and falling.
She was alive.
Just asleep.
Depending on who you asked, this was deeply concerning.
And the reason I hadn't dismissed this scene as just another illusion was simple:
The room was saturated with Nature energy.
If I were walking through my own dream, I'd have ignored this.
But I was in the dream of a little kid.
I couldn't fathom why an illusion would have Nature energy or worse, why Tobi would be able to recall it in such detail and dream about it.
"It shouldn't even be possible to sense Nature energy in a dream."
A lot of things weren't adding up.
But even if my head was full of blanks, there was an 80% chance that what I was seeing was real.
"Mommy, wake up!"
Tobi banged on the glass, and I stayed focused on him until I felt a pair of eyes staring directly at my position.
"No… he's looking past ," I thought, relaxing slightly, seeing his gaze land farther than .
My heart had already started thumping hard at the idea that the brown-haired man had sohow spotted in the dream.
"Get out of there, stupid."
Before I could turn to see what had caught Mr. God's attention, a familiar voice echoed in my head and tugged backwards.
My figure rapidly faded from Tobi's dream, the last thing I saw being Mr. God's right hand clawing through the space where I had just been, a doubtful look on his face.
When I blinked and saw the white hospital walls, Tobi just an arm's reach from , I let out a sigh and held his warm hand.
Echo.
My scan confird that Ninja Momma was not in the building, leaving with one conclusion:
The woman was connected to my mind.
As for ? I was fine.
Not just internally, but externally as well—no one had made a move on , and that was good.
Ninja Momma's freedom with my mind was annoying, but more pressing matters brought to my feet as I turned to the two individuals behind .
"I'm sorry if I took too long. These things can be quite complex, connecting with the spirit and praying for the boy."
"It's okay, sir. Giggs kept company."
Oprah smiled as she got to her feet, glancing back at the frowning block she had been wary of earlier.
"That's good." I nodded toward Giggs.
"We have to get going now. But expect a delivery for both you and the nurse later this evening."
"?!"
"Yes. Beautiful souls deserve beautiful things."
