"Bret, you can send the others back. Just tell Mike and the girls that Lillia and I are looking into sothing. We want them to be able to handle things themselves this ti." Blake stated firmly.
"Alright. We will use the tunnels. A few zombies won't be a threat to us." Bret gave Blake a knowing grin before taking team six with him and heading down into the escape tunnel.
"So, What should we do? If things continue as they are, we will be living in a dead land." Blake could even see that the trees were starting to beco affected by this, which suddenly made him think about the dryads. "Lillia, what about Yili and the other dryads?"
"Dryads will be fine. They have a ans of blocking the death energy in the soil and water so that their hos do not beco corrupted by it." Lillia replied. Out of all the races, she was not worried about the dryads as they had long learned thods of protecting themselves from the rain of death.
Blake let out a sigh of relief. "That's good to hear. So what should we do now? Just sit and wait?"
"I know!" Lillia sat down and patted her lap. "Lay your head here."
Blake chuckled and did as he was told. He laid his head in her lap and allowed her to play with his hair. The four succubi looked at the scene with a bit of jealousy. They also wanted to pamper their master!
On the other side of things, flas of fury roared over the massive army of undead. The citizens of Destiny City were going all out. Making sure every bit of their training was being put to use. The sea of flas roared through the mass of zombies burning those that were unable to resist to ashes. The stench that filled the air began to fill the area, causing many to feel sick to their stomachs but they still pushed on.
Their goal was to protect their ho, so no matter how sickening it was, they continued to cast magic until their mana was dry. Then the next group would take over for them. The entire area around the city walls was filled with black smoke under the green rain that seed to never end.
The clouds overhead only grew darker and darker, and the rain grew heavier and heavier as if they were trying to wipe out Destiny City altogether. Blake sat in the outpost that was covered in a barrier with a grim expression. He felt if this continued, things would not be easy from now on.
"Lillia, this can't be normal." Blake sat up and said.
"You are right. Sothing is driving this death energy, but I am not sure what. After all these years, the rain of death should have long co and gone but now….. It's like so kind of ancient tomb might have opened up." Lillia pondered for a mont. She couldn't think of anything else that would make it rain like this.
"Ancient Tomb?" Blake was confused. This was his first ti hearing about such a thing.
"The ancient tombs are spaces of the races of early tis. It was a ti when many races had ancients that walked the earth. You have to rember during my ti before the rest there were many wars. Wars that many ancients fell in. Their powers changed the landscape many tis. Sotis even cutting the world in two but then nded back together. Every major clan has at least one ancient in it now, this I am sure of. The elf clan, the orc clan, the dragonic clan, and the Fea.
"They might not just be on this continent. I do not know why the dragonic felt this continent was best, but there must be a reason, and this might be it. This ancient tomb, if it is what I think it is, is probably one of the oldest for it to have so much death energy." Lillia explained as she stood up.
"We should go and check things out. If we can find the source of where the clouds have ford, we may be able to get sothing from the ancient era." Lillia was actually quite excited. If it really was an ancient tomb, then they might just get lucky and find books of ancient magic that are older than anything they could ever imagine.
"We have to go back to the city first and tell the others we are going to investigate and settle the Succubi into a place in the palace where they will not bother anyone." Blake did not want to leave on a journey if things were going to take a while, and if it truly was a tomb, then they might even need to fight over things.
"Alright. Tuilia and her sisters all have their charm blocked by , so they do not need to worry about causing issues. As for food….. We can have those two girls stay with them for the ti being. This way, you can kind of let them have what they asked for, although it will be temporary." Lillia pulled Blake by the hand and waved for the succubi to follow. She wanted to quickly get things settled before taking off. She could see Noa and her sisters had things pretty much together, so she was not worried about the zombies anymore. Luckily this wave was easy, but she did fear for the next one, and getting to the root of it all was the best way to stop any more dead from rising.
They quickly made it back to the Palace, where Lillia went to talk with her sisters while Blake went to see his daughters. He did not know how long they would be gone for so he had to give them a few doses of their papa energy, as they liked to call it, which was nothing more than hugs and kisses all around.
Once things were settled, the two headed out with Lillia in the lead.
