Ten Years Ago
Raven, along with her two siblings, had watched the uproar their mom had caused on TV, and they didn’t know how to feel about it.
Raven had teared up when she saw her mom stand up for her in front of the whole universe, exposing the sickly rich conglorates.
But it didn’t do any good.
Unknown to anyone, the conglorate families that Kacey Moon had accused of indulging in discrimination had been contacting the press and every broadcasting company and had bought the news off of them so it wouldn’t spread too much.
The three siblings were in the hospital room when Kacey opened the door and ca in.
"Mom! I saw you on TV." Layla, Raven’s teenage sister, said excitedly, coming to hug her mom.
"Are you okay, Mom?" Jas asked worriedly, "I saw how they dragged you off the stage.
"I’m fine Jas," Kacey assured him, giving him a smile. "You don’t have to worry about ." To Raven, she said, "How are you doing Honey? Are you getting better?"
Raven managed to smile at her, "Yes Mom. I’m getting better."
"I’m sorry I couldn’t be there for you." Kacey sniffed, tears flowing down her face. "I’m a terrible mother."
"Mom, it’s not your fault."
"Stop crying, Mom," Jas said, hugging her. "It’s okay."
The whole family stayed at the hospital unaware of the uproar their mom had caused and completely unconscious of what will happen to them.
On the other side of the city, Peter Goz sat in his office, fuming, seething, and cursing. His company’s stock had plumted trendously and his reputation was on the line.
"Are the boys watching the bitch?" He asked his assistant who flinched at the sound of his boss’s voice.
"Yes sir," He answered, "She’s being watched at the mont."
"Good." Peter said, "They should never let her out of their sight!"
anwhile, it was getting late and there was no way the whole family was going to spend the night in a hospital room.
"Why don’t you go ho, Mom?" Jas suggested, "You need to get so rest. You look tired."
"Is that right?" Kacey asked, "I suppose you’re right." She got to her feet.
"I’ll join you too." Layla also got to her feet, rubbing her sleepy eyes.
"Will you two be okay?" Kacey asked worriedly,
"We’ll be fine Mom. Don’t worry."
With that, Kacey and Layla exited the room and took the elevator to the ground floor.
Unbeknownst to them, they were being watched.
They took a cab ho, unaware that they were being followed.
Layla was glad they were finally ho. She longed for so rest after everything that had happened that day.
They unlocked the door and went into the. Kacey got into the kitchen and began cooking while Layla stayed upstairs in her room listening to music on her earphones.
As Kacey was preparing dinner, she heard the doorbell ring.
"Layla, go answer the door." She yelled but there was no response. "Layla!" She tried again but there was no response.
"That girl," She said a little frustratedly rubbing her forehead.
The doorbell rang again. "Coming!" She half yelled, moving to the door.
The mont she opened the door, her heart contracted when she saw the n standing in front of the door. Hefty n, dressed in black. No one needed to tell her that sothing ominous was about to happen.
She quickly made to shut the door, but one of the n put his foot in, shoving open the door, sending Kacey staggering backward and sprawling on the floor.
The n charged in and picked her up from the floor.
"Let go!" She yelled helplessly, flailing her arms and legs to break free, but the n were too strong for her.
The n dragged her further back into the room. And then he ca in... Peter Goz.
Kacey’s fear intensified seeing the man. He looked extrely terrifying!
Peter swung his hands and struck Kacey so hard across the cheeks that her head rolled back, and she dropped to the floor with a loud thud.
Blood trickled down from her nose. The impact of the slap was so trendous.
Even at this mont, all Kacey could think about was her daughter, who was upstairs, completely oblivious to the situation.
Peter squatted in front of her and grabbed her chin. "I offered you money. All of us offered you tons and tons of money. And yet you still went ahead and embarrassed in front of the whole public."
"You think money can wipe off the cri your filthy son committed?" She snarled viciously, "You’re delusional! Your son and his friends should spend the rest of their lives in prison for the sin they committed. Morally dead people like like don’t deserve to be called human beings. You’re a disgrace to that na!"
Peter struck her across the cheeks again and she let out a loud welp.
He grabbed her chin again. "Beg for rcy and I might consider letting you go. Go on beg."
Kacey spat on his face. "Over my dead body!"
That was it. The last straw that broke the cal’s back.
Peter struck her again and then got to his feet. "Take care of her." He ordered the n.
The n exchanged uncertain glances.
"I said take care of her, you idiots!" He snarled at them and they began kicking and began her to a pulp.
The more they kicked her, the more she was slipping into the afterlife.
"Set everywhere on fire!" Peter yelled, "Go now!"
The other n dashed out of the house and got the diesel from the car’s trunk. They began pouring it all around the house.
Kacey was now a ss of blood and wounds. She lay on the floor, helpless and all she could think of was her children.
Peter crouched down again and grabbed her chin again. "You made a grave mistake once. I gave you a chance, and you made another."
"You... will... re... gret this!" Kacey managed to say.
"Yeah, I know." Peter replied, getting to his feet, "Light it up!"
Then they all headed outside. The last man struck a match and dropped it on the floor. The whole house was set ablaze.
In no ti, the fire traveled upstairs to Layla’s room. She was completely unaware of what was happening as she had her earphones on.
The fire trapped her, and she had nowhere to go or how to escape. She panicked and scread for help but none ca.
As the fire burned them to the abyss of death, all Kacey could think of was her kids. Her poor kids.
Oh, what a tragedy!
