Eden got down from the carriage and looked at all the soldiers training in the field. He walked to his father and Caishen. He stood behind in silence looking at his father’s thod. Eden was impressed, he’s been a fighter a lot of tis so at this point he knows better than anyone how to fight. His father’s thod was highly effective, what he liked most is that he used psychological tactics. His thod is full of tricks. No wonder the assassins couldn’t kill him, they were six of them against one yet they lost.

When Weilong noticed his son he ordered:

"Take a break."

Eden walked to his father with a smile. Weilong imdiately asked:

"Is everything okay?"

Eden smiled reassuringly.

"It is don’t worry I just wanted to see you and Caishen."

Weilong smiled and caressed his head.

Eden looked at Caishen and asked:

"How are you, vice commander?"

Caishen who had been looking at Weilong smiled at Eden.

"I’m well your highness thank you."

"Don’t call your highness I don’t like it."

Caishen smiled, he isn’t surprised Eden and Weilong are the only noble who doesn’t like to be.

He took a vial Eden handed him and looked at it. He looked up stunned when Eden said:

"This is sothing similar that I made for my father, it will help with your internal force and strengthen your body. Even if gers can do everything n do our body is a little more fragile but this elixir will get rid of that gap."

Caishen looked at the vial again then he drank it in one go.

He was shocked when he saw Weilong in better form than he was before the ambush and he told him Eden made him an elixir. Of course, he trusts them, he’s known Weilong for 8 years and Eden since he was 13.

After drinking it he felt his entire body strengthen and his core felt more powerful than he thought it could ever be. He put a hand on his chest and then looked at Eden amazed.

"Thank you so much, Eden."

Eden smiled.

"You don’t have to thank I should for having my father’s back when he was incapacitated."

Caishen could’ve beco the great general or turned the army against his father easily but didn’t. He only helped him and had his back the entire ti.

Caishen said as a matter of fact:

"I’ll always have his back he’s my closest friend."

Caishen felt his heart beating faster when Weilong smiled and looked back with soft eyes. Eden smiled feeling like a third wheel.

Weilong looked away and coughed.

"Why did you want to see ?"

Caishen said before leaving:

"I’ll let you two talk."

Eden smiled at him leave. He looked at his father with a mysterious smile and raised an eyebrow. His father seed a little uncomfortable and he chuckled. He decided to stop torturing him and announced:

"I just wanted to say that I’ll be staying at the imperial palace from now on."

Weilong frowned.

"Why?"

"Shenyan asked so we can spend more ti together when I told him that I’ll soon stop being his teacher."

Weilong frowned deeper.

"He can’t make that decision single handily."

Weilong imdiately felt stupid for saying that. Of course he can, the entire empire knows that the Emperor only loves his son and that he would put the moon on a silver platter if that’s what he wanted.

Eden smiled

"That’s what I said. I told him he should ask that question to his father."

Weilong looked at him surprised.

"The emperor accepted?"

"Yecheng heard our conversation and asked if I could move to the imperial palace with him and Shenyan."

Weilong looked at his son stunned.

Not only did the emperor ask Eden to move into the imperial palace but he just called him by his na. He felt a bad presentint and asked:

"You call him by his na?"

Eden chuckled and his eyes flashed with amusent as he said:

"I do Yecheng said he doesn’t like it when I say your majesty it makes hIm feel like I hate him."

Of course he does, he would always use a cold tone when he would say, your majesty. He’ll show him one day the difference between a cold and loving your majesty if he respects their deal.

Eden looked at his father and could tell he was worried.

"Eden I don’t think this is a good idea."

"Why?"

"You staying at the imperial palace makes you a target for all the concubines in the harem and most importantly the empress. Even she never had the privilege to live in the imperial palace and now the emperor invited his new noble consort. How do you think people will feel?"

Eden understands his father’s point but he knows what he is doing and if any concubine targets him they’ll just give him a chance to deal with them.

"I have thought this through father. I want to stay with them and anyone who tries to destroy including the concubines will only give a chance to kill them in return. Xinjie already wants dead so it doesn’t change anything. And I already told you I’m going to deal with the Miaos or anyone who tries to hurt us."

Weilong looked down. Even if he believes in Eden he is not equipped to deal with assassins or anyone who can hurt him physically.

Eden could tell what was going through his father’s mind. He’ll only feel relieved if he sees that he can take care of himself. Weilong looked up surprised when Eden said:

"Can you bring your best fighter?"

Weilong called his best fighter and Eden looked at him.

He was taller than Eden and twice his size. Eden stood in front of him and ordered:

"Let’s fight."

The man looked at the great general confused. Eden ordered:

"Look at . I’m the one you are fighting not the great general."

Weilong frowned and said:

"Eden..."

Before he finished Eden threw a punch at the fighter. He avoided and was surprised by Eden’s form. Eden continued throwing easy punches until the fighter could tell that he could fight as well. Once he finally started to fight back Eden went all in. The fighter was surprised when he was hit multiple tis. He focused and decided to take him down even if he is the great general’s son.

All his comrades were looking at them fighting, he can’t lose in front of everyone. He fought back but none of his punches could land. He felt the wind knocked out of him when Eden punched his abdon. He fell to his knees gasping for air. Everyone looked at Eden stunned, but why should they be when his family only produces great generals? Eden took the fighter’s pulse and when his breathing evened out he gave him a potion.

As he drank it Eden said:

"You need to work on your speed, that’s what’s holding you back. Being stronger doesn’t an anything if you don’t have the montum that goes with it."

The fighter nodded. He knows he’s too slow it isn’t the first ti soone has said that. He took the hand Eden gave him and stood up. Eden smiled at him and he smiled back and then left. All the soldiers who were still looking at Eden stunned left when Weilong threw them a look.

Eden looked at his father and said:

"You have to trust when I tell you I know what I’m doing."

Weilong looked at his son, after a few seconds he nodded and pulled Eden in his arms. He is always going to be worried about him even if he knows he fights just as well as him. He is his one and only son.

He pulled back and said:

"Be careful with the emperor too."

"What do you an?"

Weilong explained:

"You know how he is he doesn’t care for anyone besides his son and I don’t want you to forget that this marriage is just an arrangent."

Eden nodded and after hugging him goodbye he left. He isn’t even sure if he’ll stay so there’s no need to tell his father anything yet. He only told him where he lives now in case he needs him.

Xinjie looked at herself in the bronze mirror with a seductive smile. If the emperor doesn’t jump her just like last ti right after dinner then she’ll know that there’s sothing wrong with him. The last ti she went to the imperial palace she arrived just before dinner was served and told the emperor she had brought him sothing she cooked. She obviously didn’t, why on earth would she cook when she is an empress?

When the emperor looked at her she could tell that he was chard so he invited Xinjie to join him and Shenyan to eat. She wishes that little brat wasn’t there. The entire dinner he did everything in his power to keep her out of the conversation. She was sitting there eating silently. At least when the emperor told her to stay for the night it was worth it. She knows what he likes to see her in by now and tonight she has to beco pregnant or her father will lose it.

She doesn’t fear many things but her father she does. He is scary when he gets angry but she knows that everything he’s doing is so they can have a good life so she has to do her part too. She walked out of her palace and headed to the imperial palace with a complacent smile.
