He truly seed like a task-taker with a heart of gold.

However, having a heart of gold wouldn’t be enough to get him to this point. He must have the strength to match it.

“Where should we start looking?” Ning Shu rested her chin on her hand. “It probably likes attacking crowded places, especially darker ones like bars.”

Wen Xing was silent for a mont, then said, “I usually have good luck. Maybe I’ll be able to find it.”

Ning Shu silently looked at Wen Xing, then rolled her eyes. She hated people with good luck.

Wen Xing: …

What was it with this girl?

Wen Xing pushed his lunch tray toward Ning Shu. “You can’t eat yours anymore. Eat mine. I haven’t touched it.”

Ning Shu waved her hand. “No need.”

It had stir-fried bean sprouts, which she didn’t like.

Wen Xing hesitated and asked, “Are you still going to eat yours?”

Ning Shu: …

“I have no appetite.” Ning Shu placed her hand under the table, and a fasting pill appeared in her palm.

She swallowed the fasting pill, and the hunger finally subsided.

She had discovered another benefit of these pills. Not only were they ti efficient and could also last for multiple days, but they could perfectly fulfill soone’s energy needs when they were feeling nauseous and didn’t want to eat, just like Ning Shu right now.

“Let’s go together after work.” Wen Xing said to Ning Shu. “I wanted to ask, what kind of defense and attack thods do you…”

Before he could finish, a piercing scream erupted from the restaurant’s kitchen.

Wen Xing imdiately stood up and rushed toward the kitchen.

Ning Shu hurried after him. In the kitchen, she saw a slimy white thing trying to burrow into between a woman’s legs. It dragged its long tail behind it.

F*ck!

Her poor eyes!

The woman being attacked by the creature was utterly terrified. She was frozen in shock; she didn’t know what to do.

The creature must’ve co from the sewer. It must’ve pushed off so lid sowhere to co out.

From the looks of it, that lid was probably the drain cover, which had already been popped open.

Wen Xing grabbed the creature’s tail and forcefully slamd it onto the ground.

Splat! The creature hit the damp floor and let out squealing noises.

It had grown larger and was covered in slimy fluid, though that only made it all the more disgusting.

Despite being slamd by Wen Xing, it wasn’t dead. It opened its mouth, revealed rows of its yellow-black sharp teeth, and lunged toward Wen Xing to bite him.

Ning Shu quickly grabbed a chair and, using all her strength, smashed it on the creature.

The impact numbed her hands, and she felt as if she had hit a truck tire. The recoil left her arms tingling.

The giant creature squealed and wriggled frantically, trying to escape Wen Xing’s grip.

Its body was slick with mucus, and its strength allowed it to break free and attempt to dive back into the sewer.

Clearly, the creature knew Wen Xing and Ning Shu weren’t to be trifled with. The instinct of this creature was to keep swimming non-stop and then combine.

Ning Shu grabbed the chair again. She channeled her energy into her dantian and struck the creature’s large head. Both her hands went numb from the blow.

The creature was clearly in pain. It turned its head and charged at Ning Shu, its tail swishing like a snake.

Wen Xing grabbed a kitchen knife and shouted to Ning Shu, “Get out of the way!”

The knife slashed into the creature’s head, and a white, thick liquid splattered onto Wen Xing’s face and clothes.

The creature screeched as the knife got stuck in its body, before slithering back into the sewer.

The creature had escaped.

Ning Shu felt her stomach churning.

It was so disgusting.

As expected, there was nothing that could be huge and adorable in the world.
