Quick Transmigration Cannon Fodder's Record of Counterattacks Chapter 3107: We Can’t Go Back
They were at the top of the food chain.
Gong Rong remained silent.
Mother Xu’s eyelashes trembled—she was about to wake up. Ning Shu hurriedly turned off the television. She really didn’t want Mother Xu to know.
She knew nothing good would co of it. It would only make her anxious.
The daughter she had always been so proud of had beco a murderer.
Mother Xu opened her eyes and saw the cold look on Ning Shu’s face. She asked, “What’s wrong?”
Ning Shu shook her head with a smile. “It’s nothing.”
“We’ve been out for a while already. Let’s go ho. I feel much better now.
“There’s no need to waste money staying in the hospital.”
Ning Shu imdiately said, “We can’t go back.”
“Why not? Is sothing wrong?” Mother Xu asked in surprise. Why couldn’t they go back to their own ho?
Ning Shu said, “Let’s stay here for a while longer. Besides, we’ve got a patient here.”
There were definitely police officers stationed around their ho. Ning Shu had no intention of being arrested. If it ca to that, not even the heavens would be able to save her.
So what if she was wrongfully accused? In there, anything could happen. There was far too much room for manipulation.
Not everyone who was wrongfully accused of sothing would have the chance to clear their na. Justice wouldn’t always prevail. Just look at how many people Gong Fu had killed. She hadn’t done it with her own hands, but she had orchestrated it.
Did anything happen to her? Nope.
That was the difference between lives for so people.
“It’s fine, you can bring him—”
Mother Xu had intended to say bring Gong Rong ho, but Ning Shu cut her off.
Ning Shu’s eyes darted as she quickly ca up with an excuse. “Mom, co outside with . I need to talk to you.”
Mother Xu looked at her daughter, puzzled by how secretive she was being.
Ning Shu pulled the door shut behind them, leaving Gong Rong alone in the room.
She turned to Mother Xu and said, “Mom, we can’t invite a wolf into our ho. That man’s been shot, which ans soone’s out to kill him.
“If we take him to our house, those people are sure to follow. Blades and bullets don’t discriminate. What if we get hurt?”
Mother Xu looked flustered and nodded repeatedly. “You’re right. We really can’t go ho now.”
Ning Shu let out a breath of relief. She felt utterly drained.
She didn’t know how long she could keep things from Mother Xu.
“We’ll wait until he’s gone before going ho,” Mother Xu said while gripping Ning Shu’s arm tightly. “You need to be careful.”
Ning Shu nodded and opened the door again. Gong Rong glanced at her but said nothing.
That night, Gong Rong developed another fever. His wound had started to fester. Ning Shu roughly wiped down his arm with disinfectant alcohol and forced fluids and dicine down his throat.
After that, she gave Mother Xu a massage.
Mother Xu noticed that after her daughter’s massage, she actually slept better at night and her body felt more relaxed and comfortable.
Ning Shu stayed by Gong Rong’s side. Even if he had to die, he couldn’t die here. She wasn’t about to take the bla for that.
But Gong Rong would eventually return to the SR Conglorate.
Even if he were to die, he should die in front of everyone, while on the job.
Ning Shu released her spiritual consciousness to examine the condition of Gong Rong’s internal organs.
They seed to have aged even further. His heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys were no longer vibrant red, but a dull, lifeless black.
And Gong Rong had cirrhosis, too.
His body wouldn’t hold out much longer.
