Ning Shu pinched her nose. This cave reeked.

Bears were truly filthy creatures.

After thoroughly cleaning the cave, Ning Shu settled in.

She started setting up a formation, using the divine artifact as the core of the formation.

She planned to face the heavenly tribulation here.

Ning Shu felt increasingly uneasy as the tribulation drew closer.

All she could do was continuously reinforce the formation.

This was a do-or-die mont.

She really was risking it all to break the contract.

Next, she applied a layer of herbal juice to her body.

The herb, called “thunder grass,” was so nad because applying its juice made one’s body feel as if it had been struck by lightning. The sensation was like being electrified.

But this herb could strengthen the body and enhance its endurance.

Every day, Ning Shu crushed thunder grass into juice and sared it all over herself.

The pain was excruciating—agonizingly so.

It felt worse than saring insanely spicy chili paste on her skin.

As soon as she applied it, her entire body felt like it was being electrocuted and every cell seed to scream.

However, the results were evident. Her skin’s endurance had improved significantly, becoming much tougher.

When she jumped into an icy lake, she barely felt the cold anymore.

When the heavenly tribulation started, the formation would block it for a while. If the lightning managed to reach her, her hardened body might hold out a bit longer.

Day after day, Ning Shu endured the tornt of thunder grass juice.

Yet, every ti her eyes inadvertently fell on her distinct male feature, she felt like the thunder grass had ended up in her eyes.

Her eyes felt so traumatized that she couldn’t even open them.

While her skin grew tougher, her internal organs remained fragile.

Eyeing the thunder grass juice, Ning Shu thought about it, then dipped a finger in and tasted it.

She couldn’t feel the existence of her mouth anymore.

The experience was like having a sparking live wire shoved into her mouth.

Ning Shu fainted on the spot.

When she woke up, she moved her mouth a little and sighed deeply.

Clearly, she needed to take this step-by-step.

In addition to applying thunder grass juice externally, Ning Shu began ingesting small amounts. The juice burned as it flowed down her throat.

Ning Shu imdiately clutched at her neck. F*ck I… I can’t speak anymore.

When it reached her stomach, she felt as if her insides were about to explode.

The tornt was beyond words.

Yet under such grueling self-abuse, her body beca exceptionally tough.

Testing it with a dagger, she found it left only a faint white scratch on her arm.

Her suffering hadn’t been in vain.

Now, Ning Shu could calmly drink the thunder grass juice. Although she’d still roll on the ground from the pain, it was within tolerable limits.

Even though it still hurt, she could now endure it.

The ominous premonition in Ning Shu’s heart grew stronger. The tribulation was imminent.

Seated within the formation, she moved her fingers nimbly to add another layer of reinforcent.

Her heart pounded fiercely, tension mounting.

The surroundings grew deathly silent. To spirit beasts, tribulations were the ultimate fear.

One careless misstep and one could face annihilation.

The area’s spirit beasts had already fled. Even the birds were silent.

The oppressive atmosphere weighed heavily, the silence almost suffocating.

As the one undergoing the tribulation, Ning Shu’s heart felt like it might leap out of her chest.

Her task hinged on this mont.

Success would an freedom—freedom to soar in the vast skies.

Failure ant that waiting for her would be six linked tasks.
