Ning Shu wanted to take Yi Xiaodong away so that he could live a good life, comfortably and happily, doing what he wanted to do.

But taking him away, forcing him to leave a place he had finally beco familiar with, seed counterproductive.

Ning Shu nodded. This place was far away from the city, separated by thousands of miles. With so many people in this country, it would be hard to trace them.

For now, Ning Shu decided to stay at the Daoist temple, though she planned to move out eventually.

Ning Shu wanted to build a house near the temple where she and Yi Xiaodong could live. The environnt here was pretty good, and there weren’t many people around.

The head monk ntioned there was an abandoned house in the back mountains, which Ning Shu and Yi Xiaodong could stay in.

Ning Shu wanted to buy the house, but the head monk told her she could stay there for free since no one lived there.

Still, Ning Shu donated so money to the temple.

She also asked the head monk for one more favor: to help her and Yi Xiaodong get new identities.

Perhaps she was as insignificant as an ant to those people so that they wouldn’t pay her any more attention, but she still needed to be prepared for any eventuality.

Ning Shu explained that she had never had an identity—her parents had died, and now that she was an adult, she didn’t know what to do without an official identity.

It was ti for a fresh start.

The national system could track anything, so Ning Shu wanted Yi Xiaotong and Yi Xiaodong to be considered missing persons.

After much pleading, the Daoist priest finally agreed to help her.

He took Ning Shu to the local police station and asked what nas they wanted.

After thinking for a mont, Ning Shu said, “I’ll be called Xiao Tong, and Yi Xiaodong will be Xiao Dong.”

And just like that, their identities were changed.

This was the plight of small, insignificant people.

Ning Shu and Yi Xiaodong cleaned up the old abandoned house, slowly adding things to their ho.

Yi Xiaodong was very happy with this place—it had mountains, rivers, and was completely different from the city. There were many new and exciting things, like insects and grass.

In the past, their days were filled with the chore of picking up trash to survive.

Ning Shu bought herself a computer. She sotis used it to play gas but mostly used it to research.

She also started embroidery again, deciding to showcase her best skill—double-sided embroidery.

She had already contacted an embroidery shop.

Although modern people didn’t embroider as much anymore and there were many other ways to create beautiful things, there was still so demand for it.

After nearly half a month, she finished an embroidery piece featuring a contest of flowers and sent pictures to the shop.

They quickly replied, asking her to send the finished piece over.

After thinking about it, Ning Shu sent it without hesitation. She wasn’t worried about them taking her work for free because she had already looked into the shop—it catered to wealthy clients who commissioned custom embroidery, like handkerchiefs or collectibles. 𝙍𝔞ꞐОꞖЕS

There were even embroidered screens.

While waiting for a response, Ning Shu logged into her ga. She sold any equipnt she found, which helped support her and Yi Xiaodong’s daily needs.

Yi Xiaodong was living a rich and fulfilling life now. He could spend half a day just watching a caterpillar crawl around.

Ning Shu often went online to check if there was any news about Ou Haoxuan.

After his car accident, no updates were available. At least Ou Haoxuan had been taught a lesson.

In a way, living under the radar of these people wasn’t so bad. She could keep an eye on their every move.

If an opportunity arose, she could strike again.
