Sophia froze for half a second before shoving him away with all her strength.

"Lucas! You—!"

He didn’t even flinch. Instead, he gave that lazy, infuriating grin of his.

"You said you wanted to ’experience a man’s kind of pleasure,’" he teased smoothly. "Well, right now, I’m the one enjoying it. But if you feel left out, I can make sure you enjoy it too."

He leaned closer, tapping a finger against his cheek.

"Go ahead," he said, voice low. "Right here."

"You—!"

Sophia was too angry to form words. Nothing she could say would match the sheer arrogance in front of her.

Lucas chuckled. "Relax. I’m kidding."

He turned, opened the mini fridge beside his desk, and pulled out—a small cake.

"Got it from that little bakery downtown," he said casually. "Waited in line for over an hour."

She narrowed her eyes. Lucas Hilton... doing sothing thoughtful?

Yeah, right.

"What are you really up to?"

"Just letting you experience what it’s like when a man gets soft after being satisfied," he said with a mock-serious look.

He held out the cake toward her.

"You talk too much," she muttered. "And if you don’t start behaving, I can end this contract anyti I want."

She reached for the cake—only for Lucas to pull it back.

"You—"

"I’ll feed you," he said simply.

He lifted a forkful and held it near her lips.

Sophia frowned, pressing her palm to his forehead. "No fever... so what’s your excuse? Early symptoms of internal perversion?"

Smack.

Lucas brushed her hand away. "I’m fine."

She took a bite—and her eyes lit up.

It was from her favorite bakery. Of course he’d know.

"In a few days," Lucas said suddenly, "I might have to fly overseas."

She blinked. "Overseas? You?"

Lucas rarely left the country himself—his regional managers were more than capable. If he was going, sothing big was happening.

"Country D branch," he said. "So minor issues."

"Minor? You expect to believe that?" she scoffed. "Co on, I’m not stupid."

He sighed, caught.

"Fine. It’s serious. There’s been an internal leak—soone in our Country D division’s been tampering with the accounts. It looks like a rival company is trying to crash us from the inside. I need to go clean house myself."

"And the company here?"

"Alex will handle the day-to-day. Besides"—his lips curved faintly—"the company’s got a First Lady to keep things under control, doesn’t it?"

Sophia’s eyes glimred.

If he really left for a couple of weeks... she’d have full access.

Well—at least to the surface-level operations. He’d never leave the core intel lying around.

"You trust to look after your empire while you’re gone?"

"Why wouldn’t I?" he said easily. "It’s not like you’d betray , would you? And let’s be honest—if you wanted money, you’d do better sticking close to . Or"—he raised a brow—"you could always co with ."

"Please," she shot back. "Just go already. You’re taking up too much air in this office."

"So you’ll help?"

"If you trust enough," she said smoothly. "How long will you be gone?"

"Could be a few days. Or a couple of weeks. Maybe even a month if things get ssy."

Sophia smiled to herself. Perfect.

"When are you leaving? Flight booked yet? If not, I’ll book it for you myself. Or better—should I call a private jet?"

"You really can’t wait for to leave, can you?"

Lucas’s tone carried that lazy amusent again—the kind that made Sophia want to throw sothing at him.

"Oh? You noticed?" she said sweetly, feigning innocence. "I just ant the sooner you go, the sooner you’ll co back."

Lucas’s lips curved into that faint, knowing smirk.

"If it weren’t for the look on your face right now—pure impatience—I might actually believe that."

Sophia blinked innocently. "I have no idea what you’re talking about. My face can’t write words, can it?"

She even pulled out a compact mirror, turning it this way and that. "See? No writing. Don’t slander , Mr. Hilton. I’m just encouraging efficiency—leave early, co back early."

"Fine," Lucas said, his voice softening. "But if anything happens while I’m gone—if anyone gives you trouble, or Aiden shows up—call imdiately. No matter where I am, I’ll co."

Sophia’s brow arched. "You’re getting dramatic, you know that?"

"Am I?" His hand slid to her waist, tugging her a little closer. "You don’t like it?"

Their eyes t for half a heartbeat—

Then—

Pop!

Sothing small flew across the room.

Sophia froze.

Lucas looked down, then up again, amusent flickering in his eyes.

"Sophia... you’ve gained weight."

The sheer mockery in his tone made her blood boil.

That little pop from the button hitting the floor?

It might as well have been the sound of her pride exploding.

He was laughing at her.

Unforgivable.

"Bang!"

A loud thud echoed through the glass wall of the office.

Outside, employees stopped in their tracks, staring wide-eyed at the frosted glass now shaking from impact.

And then—

A faint, breathless sound.

A woman in black-rimd glasses holding a stack of docunts froze mid-step.

Thud.

Her files scattered to the floor.

Within seconds, people began gathering—whispers spreading like wildfire.

"Oh my god... Mrs. Hilton went in there earlier. Are they...?"

"Don’t talk nonsense! Mr. Hilton would never—"

Thump.

A tall shadow with long hair pressed against the glass.

"...Okay," the sa woman muttered. "I take that back."

From the looks of it, things inside were... intense.

"What are you all staring at? Move along!"

Alex—Lucas’s assistant—had just co upstairs, only to find half the floor gathered outside the CEO’s office, eyes wide, faces flushed.

"Alex, I wouldn’t go in there if I were you," soone whispered conspiratorially. "You might not make it out alive."

Alex frowned and stepped closer—

Through the frosted glass, the shadows moved again—fast, tangled, too close.

No way, he thought, Mr. Hilton wouldn’t... in the office?

Inside—

"Lucas! Get off !"

"Get off? You really think I fall for that every ti?"

"Ow! That hurts!"

The voices carried out just enough to feed everyone’s imagination.

Alex’s jaw tightened. "Everyone, disperse. Now."

He stepped forward and knocked on the door.

"Mr. Hilton?"

"What?"

"I have the docunts."

Alex pushed the door open—

—and froze.

Sophia was pinned against the glass wall, her face flushed, Lucas’s hand braced beside her head.

"...Mr. Hilton," Alex managed, voice cracking just slightly.
