Chapter 762: Chapter 505: Hierarchy
The environnt of the Upper Realm is far superior to that of the Lower Realm.
Looking up, the Heavenly Do is vast and deep, utterly clear, and three boundless Heavenly Domains unfold like imnse layers of a painting.
Underneath his feet is Falling Leaves Heaven, where the Spiritual Energy is sowhat inferior compared to the Fourth Heaven, but still vastly beyond what the Lower Realm can offer.
What ets the eye is an Immortal Mountain Blessed Land, scattered like stars, with Spirit Veins lurking like a dragon, and myriad phenona. In the distance, there are nurous architectural clusters with unique styles that exude strong auras.
In Falling Leaves Heaven, there are over a thousand noble families, countless sects thriving here, with fierce competition and covert currents, and several branches of powerful clans from other Great Universes have taken root.
Overhead is a vast curtain of Stars, emitting distinctive grand Dao rhythms and spiritual chanisms.
To the northwest, Sea and Mountain Heaven, belonging to the Song Clan, where the celestial curtain shows the rolling blue Immortal Sea’s illusion, beneath it, endless Immortal Mountains float like giant turtles, majestic and heavy like a chasm.
Northeast lies Cuiyang Heaven, belonging to the Zhao Clan, where the celestial curtain is verdantly dripping, teeming with life, with the towering illusion of Divine Wood standing skyward, bathed in the flowing radiance of the great sun, full of creative vitality.
To the southwest, Red Mist fills the sky, belonging to the Yuan Family, where the celestial curtain is crimson like blood, with rays of mist and flas ascending, a faint view of enormous furnace or volcano illusions floating, the searing domineering aura perating the void.
This is the Upper Realm, where a leaf supports the three realms, and the three clans govern the universe.
Falling Leaves Heaven serves as a foundation, sustaining and looking up to those supre three Heavenly Domains tightly controlled by the three great Ancient Clans.
Chu Zheng did not rush to any city, aimlessly wandering slowly over the vast wilderness.
He moved very slowly, his Divine Sense scattered, carefully perceiving the subtle changes between heaven and earth, as well as the imperceptible aura of Heavenly Fate.
As the Tribulation Qi unique to Qi Cultivators completely dissipated in this Ancient Tis, Chu Zheng instead felt a void and bewildernt in his heart.
How should the road ahead after becoming a Heavenly Immortal be traveled? Previously, he only needed to undergo tribulations to enhance his cultivation, and in the unseen, he naturally received the favor of Heavenly Fate.
Now, towards that mysterious Heavenly Fate, he seed to know absolutely nothing, the road ahead shrouded in mist, like crossing a river by feeling the stones, everything requiring his own search for answers.
Previously, while walking this road, he never felt this way.
A mont later, Chu Zheng hovered above a desolate mountain range, silently standing, the heaven and earth and the unseen Heavenly Fate around him gave him an extre sense of unfamiliarity.
From this, he could not discern any traces of the Cangyun Realm.
Suddenly, not far ahead of him, the void rippled like water, and seven figures appeared without warning, instantly blocking all his paths.
The arrivals were four n and three won, each adorned in splendid attire, surrounded by Immortal Light, their gestures carrying a hint of familiar arrogance to Chu Zheng.
The leader was a young man nearly thirty, with handso features and indifferent deanor, in a brocade robe embroidered with intricate cloud patterns, his cultivation fluctuating in the Seventh Rank Middle Stage.
His gaze fell on Chu Zheng, carrying a slight scrutiny, and he gave a polite gesture with an emotionless tone:
“Fellow Daoist, the Turbid Qi has not dissipated, so you must be a cultivator who has just ascended from the Lower Realm, right? May I ask your na and from which lineage you hail?”
Clearly, these people did not encounter him by chance but specifically intercepted him here, evidently having received so information, knowing that a newcor had entered the Upper Realm.
Chu Zheng’s eyes narrowed slightly, calmly looking at the other side: “Qi Cultivator, Zheng Chu, no sect.”
“Qi Cultivator?”
“Zheng Chu?”
“No sect?”
Upon hearing these three words, the seven people’s indifferent faces instantly replaced by unmistakable disdain.
The leading man’s lips slightly curled, a trace of mockery flashed in his eyes, his tone carrying a sense of benevolence:
“Since that’s the case, I’ll be direct. I am Fan Mingxuan, a direct descendant of the main lineage of the Fan Family. The wilderness you are stepping upon, within a radius of three hundred two million seven hundred thousand miles, all falls under our Fan Family’s jurisdiction.”
“According to our Fan Family’s rules, anyone staying within this realm, whether in cities or wilderness, breathing nature’s spiritual energy, is consuming our Fan Family’s resources. A Seventh-stage Early Stage Cultivator must pay ten top-quality Spiritual Stones daily as a ‘Cultivation Tax’!”
He paused, his gaze sweeping over Chu Zheng, with a hint of superiority:
“If you are short of funds or unwilling to pay this tax, there is another path. Our Fan Family cherishes talent, willing to let you join our clan. At that ti, we will select a woman with decent appearance and aptitude from our branch family for you to marry. However—”
He changed his tone, speaking coldly: “The offspring you two shall bear, must bear the Fan Family surna, and generations will forever serve our Fan family’s main lineage as servants.”
His words were simple, one must either pay or beco a slave, using the lineage and surna of future generations as a price.
From these actions of the Fan Family, throughout Falling Leaves Heaven, perhaps other places are not much different. With clans and sects thriving, external marriages are undoubtedly the best ans to increase their foundation.
Chu Zheng fell silent. He had just arrived and had not entered any city built by the Fan Family, rely breathing and ditating on Laws in this heaven and earth, yet they demand the so-called Cultivation Tax?
Such behavior makes no sense anywhere; it is blatant exploitation and plunder.
He does not lack those ten top-quality Spiritual Stones per day; given his wealth, it is rely a trivial amount.
But today, he does not want to give it.
The path of a Qi Cultivator emphasizes clarity of thought, unity of mind and the Dao. If such humiliation leads to inner conflict, hindering the mind, cultivation will inevitably stagnate.
