Once the patriarch of the Ba household was able to calm everyone down, Cao Luoi had been returned to the Cao mansion alongside Cao Long, who was to be tended to by the physicians awaiting him.
As soon as Cao Luoi stepped foot in the Cao mansion, she locked eyes with Cao Yuei, who was seated in a pavilion. The latter scoffed at her and looked away and Cao Luoi felt her entire being burn with sha.
She rushed over to the Liang courtyard and locked herself in. She thought back to the events of the past week and a scream tore through her throat.
How did she end up in the Ba mansion? With Ba He of all people? Her body felt sore all over so she shakily stood up to take a bath.
Once Cao Luoi finished cleaning herself up, she laid face up on her bed as tears spilled from her eyes. She wanted to go over to her father's courtyard to check up on him but she was burdened by sha.
And the fact that it was her fault that he had fallen sick made her cry harder. Her mind drifted to the nightmare she'd been having every single day since her ti at the army camp.
Was it real or not? How was she ever going to face Cao Feng and her father after this? How was she ever going to face other people? The words everyone had spoken when she had been found with Ba He ca to the fore front of her mind. She had disgraced the Cao family.

"C-Cao Yuei?"
Cao Yuei smiled. "Hm." And then she walked over to stand at the edge of Cao Luoi's bed. "How did you find Ba He's thods?"
Cao Luoi's forehead furrowed in confusion before her eyes widened and she pointed a shaky finger at Cao Yuei with tears spilling from her eyes. "Y-You were behind this?"
Cao Yuei rolled her eyes. "How hypocritical it is of you to cry. I just did the sa thing to you that you had done to , yet you have the guts to cry and point at . Like I'm the villain."
Cao Luoi's eyes widened. "W-What are you talking about?"
Cao Yuei sneered at her with a crazed look in her eyes. "My entire life was ruined by you. If it wasn't for your lying self, my mother wouldn't have been abandoned in the isolation courtyard and wouldn't have lost her life. You took father's love away from and constantly rubbed it in my face.
-But even then, what did I do to you? NOTHING! Still that wasn't enough. You set up with Ba He and had marry him all because you had their backing!"
At this point, Cao Yuei did not care if Cao Luoi understood what she was saying or not. She was boiling deep in hatred. "I had gone through a week of him shoving everything possible into and brutalizing , all for what? Because my mother tried to sell you?

Cao Luoi's face turned ashy, staring at Cao Yuei as if she was a ghost. Her nightmare wasn't a dream. It was real. Everything that occurred in that dream had happened.
Although she couldn't rember a lot of the events Cao Yuei ntioned because the dream had started in the middle part of her live. She knew deep down that they were true.
Cao Luoi glance at Cao Yuei sadly. "That's not true," She whispered.
Cao Yuei heard her and glared hatefully at her. "I don't care if you think I'm lying or not. It's fine as long as I know the truth!"
"I don't think you're lying. I ant your mother's plan," Cao Luoi said weakly. "Your mother's plan had actually succeeded the first ti...." Cao Luoi scread and rushed over to him whilst Cao Yuei rolled her eyes and walked over his limp body before walking out. She had one of Yu Ming's subordinate slip a little sothing that Jiang He had prepared into Cao Long's dicine.
