In Yang Er Village, Li is a common surna. If you count carefully, most of the Li families in the village are sowhat related.
Even Li Guohua and the grandfather and grandsons next door share so kinship.
However, since Li Xin was young, the groom’s family had helped Li Xin’s grandmother. Rembering this kindness, Li Xin ca back from the city to attend the village wedding and served as the bridesmaid during the feast.
That day, sothing happened.

It was then that the villagers sensed sothing was off and reported it to the police.
It wasn’t until the afternoon of the third day that they found Li Xin’s body in the water of a grassy patch downstream.
It’s said that when they found her, her body was so decayed it was unrecognizable!
When they discovered the corpse, the police examined it; her clothes were mostly intact, and there were no external injuries on her body.
The police intended to conduct a further autopsy— but villagers didn’t understand, especially Li Xin’s grandmother, an uneducated and unworldly rural woman, already heartbroken at the news. When she heard the police wanted to perform an autopsy, even possibly cutting the body open, she fainted on the spot and vehently refused.
She said she couldn’t let her granddaughter suffer again.
After more investigations, it was said soone claid to have seen Li Xin heading towards the river after the feast...
The final conclusion was drawn that she drowned after drinking.
But there was an unresolved issue afterwards.
Days later, a young man ca to Yang Er Village, claiming to be Li Xin’s boyfriend from out of town, who ca after hearing the news.
The boyfriend, though heartbroken, strongly demanded a reinvestigation of the case.
However, by then it was too late; the body had been cremated and buried.
The man stayed in the village for two days, wept at Li Xin’s grave, left so money for the grandmother, and after leaving, never returned.

Midnight.
Li Guohua lay on the wooden bed in his room, tossing and turning in bed.
He had grown as thin as a stick, and when he lay on the bed without outer clothing, even his undershirt couldn’t wrap around his body, appearing wide and large.
His body twisted on the bed, his eyes tightly shut, brow furrowed, as if witnessing sothing utterly terrifying in his dreams.
Yet, strangely, he couldn’t wake up!
The dark room’s doors and windows were tightly shut.
A vague shadow gradually enveloped the head of Li Guohua’s bed, slowly gathering into a figure.
A long dress fluttered, hair swirling.
Slender and pale hands, with long thin fingers, reached towards the twisting Li Guohua on the bed.
Bit by bit, the fingertips seed to be approaching Li Guohua’s neck!
Suddenly, Li Guohua abruptly opened his eyes, sitting upright from the bed!!
He sat up, staring blankly ahead, his eyes vacant.
Slowly, he got out of bed, not putting on shoes, just standing there as if in a daze.
In the darkness, Li Guohua’s body stiffened, turned in place, and walked directly to the cabinet in the room, pulled open a drawer, and after rummaging inside, took out a pair of large scissors.
He raised the scissors high in his right hand, the point facing himself.
At this mont, Li Guohua’s face revealed a blank yet grim smile.
Utterly bizarre!

The scissors slowly moved down, poking at Li Guohua’s chest, the tip even piercing his old undershirt, the sharp end pressed against the skin on his chest...
At this mont, Li Guohua suddenly shivered!
He bit his teeth, his scattered gaze suddenly coming to clarity!
The sting on his chest caused Li Guohua to exclaim softly, and he suddenly let go, throwing the scissors far away!
In that instant, the shadow in the room silently dissipated and vanished.
Li Guohua’s face twisted into a malevolent expression, shouting harshly at the empty room, "You!! It’s you again!! You still won’t leave alone!! Why! Why do you want to harm !!!"
The room gave no reply, only leaving Li Guohua’s heavy breathing.
"Then... Then..." Li Guohua’s face contorted, muttering fiercely, "Then no one will have peace!! I’ll dig up your grave now!!"
Li Guohua seed to lose control, quickly threw on a piece of clothing, put on shoes, pulled open the door, and strode out, grabbing a shovel from a corner of the yard!
But just as he turned, his body suddenly stiffened.
In front of Li Guohua, in his own courtyard, stood a young man he’d never seen before.
