"I have a question" one of the girls raised her hand.

"Go ahead" the old man said.

"If we already had a Card user Profession while we were still alive, what would we do now?" the girl asked.

Liu Ping noticed that quite a few people were interested.

— — -it's likely that the girl wasn't the only one who was worried and doubtful.

The old man smiled: "Don't worry about that, in the Empire, all Card user Professions have already been integrated into Cards, this is to increase the fighting strength of all citizens — — -"

"To the Empire, you may be a card, but to yourself, you can totally treat yourself as a card user."

He forcefully flipped open the heavy book in front of him.

Cards were drawn one by one and pasted on the blackboard behind him.

"Alright, little ones, co and choose your starting Profession, the first lesson is about to begin" the old man said.

The young people all looked at the blackboard.

"What the hell is this?" one of the boys loudly complained.

"That's too low-class," his deskmate also said.

"Such a simple Profession?" one of the girls couldn't help but ask.

Liu Ping looked at the blackboard, only to see that the Cards were all light grey, depicting various weapons as well as the corresponding crude clothing.

As he stared at the cards, lines of small burning words suddenly jumped out and marked the cards:

[Beginner Firearms User]

[Telekinesis Apprentice]

[Trainee Knight]

[Spirit Ability Cultivator]

[Beginner-level Archer]

[Beginner-level Fighter]

[Assassin]

[...]

[Attention: These are the most basic Professions, at the very bottom of all Professions, but they are also the starting point of many advanced Professions]

Liu Ping nodded.

Even the Clown Card that I drew before, although it's a very unpopular one, is still much better than these Professions.

No wonder everyone is a bit dissatisfied.

"Silence!"

The old man waved his hand and raised his voice: "Everyone, while you were alive, you all thought highly of yourselves, but have you ever thought of a certain problem — — -"

"You're already dead, you've lost all your powers"

The young people were still a bit dissatisfied, but their voices were already a lot quieter.

The old man continued: "Everything has to start from the beginning, as long as you have the power, you'll be able to advance your current Profession to a more advanced Profession, or even change your Profession, it's only a matter of ti, understood?"

"Understood." Everyone responded sparsely.

"The first lesson is an elimination trial. Now, according to the abilities you are good at, co up and choose your starting job," the old man said.

"Trial?" Soone shouted.

"That's right. You're no longer newbies, so you'll directly enter so of the recently recovered lost lands. Too many souls have been sacrificed there, so there's so pollution. Fortunately, it's mostly been cleaned up. You can go and finish up the relevant work," the old man said.

This ti, everyone quieted down.

Everyone finally realized that the current environnt was not a safe place.

They looked at the blackboard again.

Occupation!

In the Purgatory, Job Classes were power!

The youths walked forward one by one and began to choose the profession that they liked.

Liu Ping also looked around carefully and felt a little troubled.

When it ca to cards, he actually knew too little and couldn't compare to these local teenagers.

Which class should he choose?

His gaze swept through the cards one by one, and suddenly stopped at a card.

The card depicted a simple set of tal armor and a shield.

As his gaze stopped, several burning words appeared in the void of space, explaining the Card:

[Trainee Knight]

[Able to wield all types of armor, all types of cold weapons and shields]

[Evaluation: This is a jack of all trades on the battlefield, but being able to do everything also ans that it's hard to be proficient in anything. If one doesn't have great talent, those who take up this Job will usually be diocre.

After skimming through, Liu Ping silently asked: "What if one's talent is barely passable?"

Another line of burning text appeared:

[This is one of the Jobs with the most branching paths, one can advance or change their Job in countless ways.]

[What's your choice?]

Liu Ping pondered: "I've fought against a Blood Knight before, but it was thanks to that Occultism Card that I was able to easily win. Now that I think about it, I still have a deep impression of it, furthermore — — -"

"Yana used to be a Holy Knight, if she wakes up, she should be able to teach more about this Job"

"Coupled with the fact that I'll be going through a trial, if I have a set of armor, my chances of survival will be much higher"

Having made up his mind, he stood up, walked up to the podium and picked up the Trainee Knight Card.

At this point, the classroom was in a ss.

The young people have all received their initial Job Cards.

A young girl threw her card out, only to hear a 'poof', the card turned into a bow and a quiver of arrows.

The young girl looked at the bow and complained: "This is a hunting bow used to hunt rabbits, how am I supposed to use this!?"

A male student tossed his card out and received an extrely crude rifle.

He picked it up, and skillfully fiddled with it, his face showed disbelief, exclaiming:

"You can only fire one bullet at a ti?"

Another young man held a leather glove in his hand, coldly saying: "Be content, at least you have a weapon. As a Trainee Warrior, I only have a glove — — take note, it's a glove, not a boxing glove"

Liu Ping also threw out the [Trainee Knight] Card in his hand.

Poof!

A small wooden shield fell into his hand.

Following that, a wooden stick also fell and landed in his other hand.

Liu Ping looked at it, unsure: "This is a stick, right?"

The old man smiled: "That's right, a Knight can use all kinds of cold weapons, perfect for you"

Liu Ping raised the wooden shield again — — -

It's too small, it can only cover an area about the size of 3 palms.

Lines of burning words quickly appeared in front of his eyes.

[You've received a weapon: Inferior wooden stick]

[— — It's extrely inferior, you know what I an]

[You've received a shield: Inferior wooden shield]

[Although it's nothing compared to a shield, it's surprisingly sturdy]

[Attention, as the lowest grade Grey Card for a new student, you're about to take up your job and trigger a Mystic-type power within]

[You'll sense the Trainee Knight's initial Job Skills, please choose carefully]

Liu Ping stood still and suddenly had an epiphany.

So kind of power is circling around , ready to manifest into a power that belongs to at any mont.

It can manifest a total of 4 abilities, I have to choose one of them.

First: Aura;

Second: Weapon Mastery (Able to learn a weapon's basic attack skills);

Third: The Way of Shield Defense

Fourth: Healing spells

Liu Ping didn't really care about weapons and shields, after all, he already had so many years of combat experience and skills.

— — -But I've never seen anything like Aura before.

Should I choose Aura?

With a thought, he turned his attention to healing spells.

Healing spells ... are very practical.

For so reason, Liu Ping suddenly recalled the scene when he first arrived at Dark Mist Town.

After finding out that I'm a healer, the Night Watchers saw in a different light.

... That's right, healing is very important.

You can tell just by looking at everyone else, everyone's equipnt is very crude and they've all lost their powers.

If I'm going to train in an unfamiliar environnt, survival is the most important thing.

Then — — -

Learn healing spells first, then learn Aura later.

With a single thought, Liu Ping's power turned into understanding and appeared in his mind.

Lines of burning words appeared one after another:

[You've learned 'Sacred Chant']

[You've beco a 'Trainee Knight']

[Your Card has changed:]

[Card: Trainee Knight]

[Na: Liu Ping]

[Level 1]

[HP: 5]

[Attack Points: 3]

Liu Ping silently sensed the changes, only to feel his muscles becoming stronger and his spirit becoming more energetic.

"How miraculous." he smiled and said.

At this point, the classroom slowly quieted down. Everyone had already taken their positions and turned their gazes towards the old man.

The old man looked around and spoke with satisfaction: "Very good, while you were still alive, you all had a lot of combat experience, now begin to fight for your future."

He reached his hand out and lightly pulled the void of space — — -

Instantly, the entire classroom disappeared without a trace and turned into a Card in his hand.

It was now that everyone found themselves in the middle of a forest.

The sky was dim.

At the foot of the mountain, a village appeared in front of the youngster's eyes.

Intense flas were burning inside the village, and occasionally a few screams could be heard.

The old man spoke: "Go, kill all the soulless."

"Return alive and you'll pass."

"The better your performance, the higher your score, you'll receive more resources and prioritize upgrading your Card."
