Kaizer was currently within the library of the Esper Academy, flipping through books about psychic espers in history and their various achievents. He was curious to know where the limit lay for pure psychics who did not have a ’cheat’ like he did, if one could call it that.

Books silently hovered around him as he flipped multiple pages at once, using telekinesis to read the content in them. This created a sowhat magical scene straight out of a movie about wizards, with ’lively’ tos darting around Kaizer, erging from shelves on their own, coming to circle around him, their pages flipping rapidly then whirring back to the shelf from which they ca.

Even in the Esper Academy of all places, Kaizer’s actions drew attention, but many recognized him as the S-class student who was ntored by the dean, said to beco the future strongest esper. Looking at him now, he was a bit handso, but was that enough to stand atop the world?

"Hm?" Kaizer lifted his head, noticing a group of people coming close to his table.

Kaizer’s eyes narrowed as he took in the sight of the approaching group. Five individuals, each mismatched in age and appearance, walked in formation, their expressions solemn, their steps synchronized.

The way they moved exuded an air of self-importance, as if they were marching to reveal a sacred truth to the world.

Kaizer already had a bad feeling about this.

They ca to a stop before his table, dramatically clasping their hands behind their backs like mbers of so clandestine order.

One of them, a lanky young man with neatly combed hair and thick-rimd glasses, stepped forward, his face serious. He adjusted his glasses with an exaggerated flourish, the library’s dim lighting reflecting off the lenses in a suspiciously dramatic way.

"We finally found you... Kaizer, the Awakening of the Great Mind!" he declared, his voice carrying a weight as if he had just uncovered the identity of the ssiah.

Kaizer blinked, unsure if he had heard correctly. "...Excuse ?"

The young man pounded his chest with conviction. "I am Julius, the Brainwave Sovereign! Leader of the Divine Cognitive Order! And these are my sworn brethren!"

He gestured to the others, each of whom took a theatrical step forward in turn.

"Morgan, the Cerebral Phantom!" A short girl with twin braids declared, adjusting the sleeves of her school uniform as if she were about to unleash an incredible power.

"I can sense when soone is thinking about food with an 80% accuracy!"

"Cornelius, the Thoughtforger!" A stocky, bearded man in his late twenties who looked way too old to be a student placed a hand over his temple.

"I can make people forget what they were about to say... about half the ti!"

"Dante, the Synaptic Titan!" A muscular teen smirked, cracking his knuckles.

"I can guess what number you’re thinking of... if it’s between one and three!"

"And finally, Eloise, the Neurostorm Empress!" A girl with striking silver hair and piercing violet eyes stepped forward regally.

"I can convince people they left the stove on. Even if they don’t own a stove."

Kaizer stared silently, his books hovering in midair, montarily forgotten.

This had to be so kind of prank.

He glanced around, half-expecting hidden caras, but the five stood before him with absolute conviction, looking at him like he was the second coming of Christ.

Julius cleared his throat. "We, the Divine Cognitive Order, have sought you out because you are the only esper in history to demonstrate true, overwhelming mastery over the mind! The way you manipulate the world around you, the sheer scale of your psychic senses... it surpasses even the greatest psychic legends! You are our destined leader!"

Kaizer’s expression remained blank. "...No."

Julius staggered as if struck by a physical blow. "W-What?! B-But it is fate!"

Kaizer sighed and rubbed his temple. "Look, I appreciate the... enthusiasm, but I think you guys might be a little misinford."

"Impossible!" Morgan roared in defiance, her hands clenching into fists.

She pointed at Kaizer with bloodshot eyes. "Your power is the dream we have all aspired to! Our club—our Order—exists to revere and explore the infinite potential of the mind! And you, Kaizer, are its pinnacle!"

Dante nodded. "Exactly. Unlike the fools who chase after brute strength, we worship the power of thought. The subtleties of intellect. The refinent of ntal domination!"

Cornelius adjusted his tie. "And let’s be real. Everyone else at this school has flashier powers than us. This is all we have."

Kaizer exhaled through his nose. "Yeah, I gathered that much."

Julius clasped his hands together, his expression desperate. "Please, O Grand Cerebral One! Share with us the secrets of the true mind! Train us in the ways of the ntal arts!"

Kaizer drumd his fingers on the table, considering his options. He could outright refuse, but sothing told him they weren’t going to take no for an answer. He could try to ignore them, but judging by their manic devotion, they’d probably just follow him everywhere.

And then there was the worst possibility.

If the Dean found out, he might think this was funny and encourage them.

Kaizer sighed deeply. "...Fine. I’ll show you sothing. But only once."

The five cheered as if they had just won the lottery, fist-pumping and high-fiving each other. Kaizer, anwhile, was already regretting his decision.

’What have I gotten myself into?’

...........

Kaizer could not take all of them in his Dodge Viper, so they followed him in their own cars. It had to be said that what they lacked in common sense and esper ability, they made up for in money, as these fellows were even more loaded than him.

A sleek Rolls-Royce Phantom, costing about $600,000, belonging to Dante, roared behind Kaizer.

Following that was a Ferrari SF90 Stradale, priced at above $515,000, the prize of Morgan, who Kaizer could sense wanted to step on the pedal so badly.

In between the convoy was a custom-wrapped Lamborghini Aventador that belonged to Eloise and was definitely above $750,000 in price, though those sick rims made it worth it.

There was a Tesla Roadster, the latest model, belonging to their pseudo-leader Julius, who looked smug driving the vehicle.

Finally, at the back of the line was a Koenigsegg Agera, one of the most famous and popular racing cars in the world, and one that Kaizer himself almost bought.

Looking at this convoy of six elite cars, Kaizer wasn’t sure what was more ridiculous about this group, their obsession with mind powers or the fact that their club looked like a millionaire’s car et.

The group soon reached a nearby forest area within the academy that was ant for nature and wildlife-related espers to have their training done. However, according to these students, this place was used for many secretive dealings between academy-goers to prevent trouble.

Kaizer and the group parked their cars, getting down and entering a sizable cabin within the forest that was built by Julius to be the clubroom of their Divine Cognitive Order.

Within the cabin, Kaizer was imdiately t with an atmosphere of extravagance that completely clashed with the bizarre nature of the so-called Divine Cognitive Order.

The exterior, though stylishly built from polished oak and dark stone, gave off the impression of a simple high-end retreat.

However, stepping inside revealed a level of wealth and indulgence that rivaled five-star hotels.

The floors were made of polished marble, gleaming under the soft lighting of a chandelier that, upon closer inspection, was not just crystal but pure energy-infused quartz, shimring faintly in an unnatural yet srizing way.

Velvet furniture, carved mahogany tables, and imported rugs decorated the main hall, exuding an old-money sophistication that had no place in what was supposed to be an "extra-curricular club."

A massive bookshelf lined one wall, stocked with books on psychic abilities, ancient telepathic techniques, and ridiculous titles like "Mind Over Universe: A Guide to Cosmic Thought Control" and "Telepathy and Tax Evasion: The Overlap"... truly enlightening literature.

The mbers had even frad a giant portrait of a glowing brain, positioned like so religious icon at the center of the room.

Kaizer noticed a spiral staircase leading downward, an odd addition for a re clubhouse.

Julius, sensing his curiosity, smugly gestured for them to follow.

Descending into the lower level, they entered a sprawling underground chamber, far more impressive than the already excessive upper floor.

The walls were lined with shimring panels of psionically charged obsidian, apparently ant to enhance ntal focus—though Kaizer suspected it was mostly for show.

In the center of the room stood a massive circular table with engraved psychic sigils, surrounded by luxurious armchairs. There were even sensory deprivation pods, floating ditation chairs, and what looked like a high-tech arena.

"...You guys built all this?" Kaizer asked, expression unreadable.

Julius smirked. "Of course. Every great order needs a sanctuary. You might say... this is our temple of enlightennt."

Kaizer pinched the bridge of his nose. These idiots were too rich for their own good.
