Hey everyone!
If you're not in the discord, you're probably not aware of this, but I've started a re-write of PTRS. I wrote a lot of the early chapters 3-4 years ago at this point, and at least in my opinion, I've grown as an author since then.
There's also tons of pacing issues and the like that I think weigh down the story, especially in those opening chapters. So soti next week I will be replacing the first 20ish chapters of PTRS. There will be new content, so it's worth a re-read. However the ret-cons will be extrely minor, nothing that will affect your understanding of the world or narrative.
So things that will change include:
Showing Taika and Shouri before they et (Chapter 0's, two of them, just like Turbidity and Tuteledge)
Re-arrangent of so sequences
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
Addressing of things that many readers pointed out
Referencing future events more clearly, and integrating newer world building concepts (such as schools)
Translations of what the hell Taika is saying in the author's notes
Tightening of the prose and standardization of many things (such as capitalizing elent nas)
I figure the chapters up to Rebecca's very first appearance were in the most dire need of being addressed, so that will be what is in the first batch. I will be deleting the old versions of the chapters, mainly because the comnt sections will be entirely mismatched and I don't want to confuse new readers as they try to parse the comnt section.
After this initial wave, I'll try to re-write one or two chapters a week until I get to Chapter 170.
The only other big change I want to make during these re-writes outside of tightened prose and addressing the aforentioned worldbuilding is the subject of Ilea Vim. If you're current with chapter 250, you'll know I didn't handle him the best--mainly he lacked any presence in the narrative outside of his first and last appearances (to date). He will be more involved in those re-written chapters in a way I hope you all enjoy.
Thanks so much for sticking around!
BTW, this will not affect the upload schedule, I still have a good backlog and will return to working on more backlog once I get these 20 re-write chapters done.
