Xie Xiao watched as she dropped her phone, her body trembling uncontrollably.

But Xie Xiao was powerless, hating that he couldn't hold her, tell her it was going to be okay, that things would get better...

All he could do was stay with her, watching her go from sobbing uncontrollably to silently crying, to now feeling helpless and wronged because he couldn't persuade Zhou Mianmian.

Yet after crying for a while, she suddenly put down the suitcase in her hands.

Then she went into the bathroom.

After washing her face, she went downstairs to get ice cubes and started icing her eyes.

Luo Yanran had always been like this, goal-oriented and incredibly strong.

Xie Xiao watched her series of actions, and then at eleven o'clock sharp, he turned off the lights and went to sleep.

She didn't eat anything, and it was unclear whether she had no appetite or just didn't want to eat.

Xie Xiao had long realized that he was like watching a movie.

He never got tired, exhausted, or hungry.

To him, ti seed aningless.

Thus, he could accompany Luo Yanran day and night.

Watching her get up early the next day, she briskly packed up, but because she looked pale, she applied a light makeup.

Then she bought various types of breakfasts near the high school.

But they were all the kinds Xie Xiao used to like.

Luo Yanran appeared at the hospital room door at eight in the morning, startling Xie Qingxiao.

"You are yesterday's classmate?" he was sowhat surprised. These days people ca to visit his son daily, but usually, they would not co again.

Lin Yu ca often, too, but he didn't enter, probably because he was having a conflict with his son.

He would just look from the doorway and then leave.

Xie Qingxiao knew that Lin Yu was also having a tough ti probably. If it were before, his family could have helped a bit, but now with his son in this condition, they couldn't offer much help anymore.

Fortunately, Lin Yu was a good kid who could fend for himself and even took the ti to visit Xie Xiao.

Luo Yanran was the only one who ca two days in a row.

Luo Yanran smiled at Xie Qingxiao, "Good morning, uncle. I just ca to check up and brought you so breakfast."

Xie Qingxiao quickly responded a few tis, "Little Luo, right? You've troubled yourself, co on in."

Lying in bed, Xie Xiao turned his head to see Luo Yanran and was sowhat surprised to see her again, but his face showed no emotion.

Luo Yanran just nodded to him, "Good morning, Xie Xiao."

There were no significant emotions in her eyes, as if it was just a normal morning and they had t and greeted each other.

The savor emitted from the breakfast she was holding was sowhat complicated yet familiar.

The Xie Xiao on the sickbed was slightly taken aback, "Good morning."

Joy flashed in Xie Qingxiao's eyes; after so many days, Xie Xiao had finally responded to soone outside his family!

He quickly invited Luo Yanran, "Co, sit here. Have you had breakfast yet? Xie Xiao hasn't eaten either..."

Luo Yanran waved her hand, "Not yet. I was passing by the high school and thought to co by to check on you, so I just bought so. You probably can't eat yet, Xie Xiao; I'll get sothing for you later."

She didn't look at Xie Xiao's legs, but instead naturally placed the hospital tray that had been on the table before him and adjusted his bed a bit, speaking softly, "You must be getting quite an appetite; in a couple of days when you're better, I'll bring you so more. Have so breakfast now."

The way she spoke naturally made Xie Xiao feel as if he just had a simple illness that would be gone in a couple of days.

Luo Yanran didn't feed him like his parents did; she just set it down and went back to have her breakfast.

Xie Xiao suddenly felt like he had just caught a cold, nothing serious.

Over there, Xie Qingxiao saw that Xie Xiao finally raised his hand to pick up the spoon.

His eyes instantly reddened, fearing his son would notice, he quickly lowered his head.

Luo Yanran handed him a Jianbing Guozi, "Uncle, eat this, it's really tasty, super fragrant."

Xie Qingxiao's hand trembled slightly as he took it with a sigh.

Xie Xiao glanced over at them and said, "My dad doesn't eat spicy food."

"I didn't ask for chili peppers, I don't like them either..."

Such a simple dialogue almost made Xie Qingxiao, a grown man, burst into tears.

Fortunately, Luo Yanran's trembling hand grabbed his wrist.

Everything will get better. At tis like this, a parent's emotions can directly affect the child, so Luo Yanran firmly held onto Xie Qingxiao's wrist without considering whether it was appropriate.

Xie Qingxiao understood and after controlling his emotions, he took a bite of the Jianbing Guozi, "Hey, son, the ones by your school's gate are tastier than those by ours."

"Of course," Luo Yanran chid in, "if you're late, they'll be gone..."

Xie Xiao said nothing but continued eating his nutritional al bite by bite.

The observing Xie Xiao knew that at that mont, he had relaxed a bit. The unfamiliar senior's natural deanor made him feel like he was suffering from a minor illness that would pass in a couple of days.

That was the first ti Xie Xiao had relaxed during that period.

And from that mont on, Luo Yanran began appearing in the hospital room every other day.

Xie Xiao knew she would co every day, but she did not enter.

Because she did not want to put pressure on Xie Xiao who was on the hospital bed.

Xie Xiao just watched her co in every day.

Watching her read many psychology books, she wanted to make the boy on the bed happy.

She would find many local guides, noting down the delicious and fun spots.

She would rember each one, and if it was sothing edible, she would bring it to the hospital room.

Then, she would eat in front of Xie Xiao, turning the fun spots into topics to help the spiritless boy talk.

Though naturally cold and aloof, she forced herself to initiate conversations.

The boy on the hospital bed's mood was very unstable, and he would sotis lose his temper.

But it seed she didn't mind; she would just watch him and then say, "Xie Xiao, calm down, you're an adult now."

But when she turned to leave, she would secretly wipe away her tears.

Xie Xiao watching Liu Ou finally understood. She had co to the hospital and found Luo Yanran, leading to a dispute between them in the staircase, "Are you crazy, Luo Yan?"

Liu Ou's voice was full of disbelief, "You had everything prepared to go abroad, and now you're saying you're not going?"

Her voice lowered a bit out of concern, "Xie Xiao's life is like this, he never knew you liked him before, why are you foolishly running over here? What about Zhou Mianmian? Isn't it said that Xie Xiao liked her?"

Luo Yanran glanced at her, "How do you know?"

"I went back to the school yesterday and saw a junior scolding her, everyone knows now..." Liu Ou said, then sighed, "Don't change the subject, you didn't tell you weren't going to study abroad, and you didn't even tell when you ca back. I wouldn't have known you were in C city if I hadn't seen the notification yesterday!"

Luo Yanran said softly to Liu Ou, "Because I knew if I told you, you would stop just like you are now."

"But Hai Ou, I really like him a lot."
