Sharon’s POV—
B was on his knees pleading for his life. "P-please... f-forgive ... I will s-s-surrender." I scrutinized him with a critical eye. I made a wooden chair and sat in front of him. With a snap of my fingers, I motioned him to co near with my index finger. He crawled on his knees to co towards . Reaching near my feet, he slamd his head near my feet.
He begged, "Please! Show rcy..."
"Why? Aren’t you going to enjoy with ? Where is your confidence now?" I mocked him.
"He... we were just joking. I didn’t an to offend you. Please have m-rcy on ..."
I scoffed, "Don’t beg for your pathetic life. I plan to... let you leave from here. If, you answer my questions. Be truthful and I will let you go. It all depends on your performance. The better it is, the better your chances of survival will be. Also, raise your head."
"Yes! I-I will a-answer your q-questions truthfully." B raised his head and nodded his frantically. Here goes his loyalty in drain. I am not surprised to see his loyalty shatter. These people would even betray their loved ones for their selfish desires.
"Good! Very-very good! Let’s start with the first question. Hmmm... what does your organization do?" My knowledge is limited. Whatever I know is from the contents that I have written in the book. So, having this knowledge would really help in the future.
"Our organisation was started almost 10 years ago. Count of Yasdrb was the one who started it. His intention was to use commoners as slaves."
"Basically, as fodders for the... powerful individuals. These individuals are nobles, right?"
"Yes."
"Are both the factions involved in this?"
He shook his head in denial. He said, "No... I don’t know but many nobles are involved in this."
"What do you do with them other than slaving?"
B gulped audibly. Scratching his hands, he said, "I... we used to use them for various purposes. Prostitution, servants, experintation... I don’t know. The count and his assistant used to sell them to various clients. Both n and won were the clients."
"Heriedieck and his assistant. What do you know about them? What type of people they are?"
"They are very selfish. They are capable of doing the cruellest thing to even a little child. All they need is profit. Raping is a sport for both of them. The count enjoys first and then... his assistant. Honestly, I think his assistant has so weird fixation with him."
If I were to believe his words then Heriedieck and his assistant, both are a piece of the sa sit. "What is your plan exactly? Tell honestly, don’t even think of lying to ," I warned him.
He shook his head in denial. "I won’t lie to you. I will tell you everything. When the emperor destroyed our organisation, the count went kind of mad. He wanted revenge from her. So, he devised the bomb plan. If there would be unrest between the nobles and commoners, the count would not only get his revenge but also, revive the organisation."
I see. He wants revenge. It’s really a good plan if, I didn’t know about it. The bomb blasts would serve as two blemishes on my image.
"Where is this... ’assistant’ of his? It’s obvious he must be around here sowhere, skulking like a slimly warm. Where the fuck is he?" Unlike in the novel, where the count wasn’t involved and I was not their target; I am his target in this world. You could say this is due to the butterfly effect.
"He is in a safe house."
"I don’t think that I have to ask you the location."
"I can show you," replied B.
"What if you betray ? You betrayed your own organisation. Why should I believe you?"
He smiled bitterly at my words. "I indeed have betrayed my organisation. If they know about this, then they will kill . So, don’t worry about it. I am incapable of betraying you."
That’s true but... well, fuck it! It’s not like they could do anything to . I said, "Stand up! Let’s go then. I am really excited to et this creature."
B got up imdiately and showed the way. I followed after him as he walked ahead of . The more he walks, the more I entered deeper into the secluded region. After walking for almost 10 minutes, we almost reached at the end of the road. Just as I was about to snap out at him, I saw a mansion situated at the end of the road.
It was a huge mansion made up with black tiles and black wood, giving a very brooding and mysterious look to it.
I asked, "Is this the place?"
"Yeah. The assistant is inside it," replied B.
"Will you co in?"
Horror flashed in his eyes. He frantically shook his head in denial. I scoffed, "Stop shaking your head! I got it. You are a coward. How did you even beco a commander with this attitude?"
"It’s not . The assistant is a scary one. I don’t want to fight him or anything. You can go in but don’t take in." He took a step back as if he was ready bolt away at any mont.
"Just co in with . I will see that no one will harm you," I promised him.
After so pondering, he nodded his head. Normally, I would have regarded this as a sort of his trust in but... his eyes have changed. There was a smug look in his eyes, taunting , regarding as a fool.
I frowned at the mansion in front of . It’s a trap. This whole mansion is a trap for . Well... let’s see what in store for .
I opened the mansion’s door and entered into it. B also entered after . It’s surprising that I was following him before and now, he was following . But for him, I am no guide. I am his supposed prey.
The entrance hall was completely dark. At first glance, it gave a feeling of abandonnt. While second glance, showed how well-maintained this mansion is.
Suddenly, I felt a chill in my back. I imdiately turned back and found B to be absent. Tch, traitorous fool.
I took a stance and analysed my surroundings. This is a trap and if I don’t want to be a mouse trapped in a mouse trap. Then I have to raise my guard up.
Suddenly, I heard so footsteps coming towards . They are going to make the first move. Terrain and location are on their side whereas, I am the one who has none to zero advantage.
