The first impression she gave was beauty, the second was coldness.
"I can take my brother’s car."
Jimmy Horne said coolly to the woman and then ignored her, walking with Ivan to a black rcedes. They both opened the car doors and got inside.
The woman stood there, still exuding coldness, watching the black rcedes drive out of the Horne family’s villa.
Several n dressed in black approached her, respectfully asking, "Head, where is the young master going?"
The woman responded with a cold gaze, saying coolly, "We have no right to question the young master’s whereabouts. So of you follow discreetly and ensure the young master’s safety."
"Yes."
The n in black responded and turned to leave.
After everyone had gone, a trace of heartbreak flickered in the woman’s eyes. She knew that the young master had gone out with Ivan Horne, and where he was going was surely to et Camila.
She let out a heavy sigh and, rembering her current position, buried her heartbreak deep within.
The woman was none other than the little beauty from years ago, Florence Ford.
After graduating, she imdiately returned ho and formally joined the organization. Through hard work, she finally beca Jimmy Horne’s bodyguard, and the head of his bodyguards, responsible for his safety. However, before returning to Syrena with Jimmy Horne, she found out that won in the organization were not allowed to marry. This was a rule of the Reyes family, and the head of the organization probably saw through her feelings, which was why she was inford of this family rule.
At that mont, it was as if she had been struck by lightning, leaving her stunned.
She thought she might have a tiny bit of chance, but didn’t expect all her efforts were precisely what ruined her chance.
The stabbing pain in her heart nearly knocked her down.
She worked hard to regain her composure.
Valence Group.
The thirty-second floor.
Ivan and Jimmy Horne appeared together, imdiately attracting the attention of all the employees, especially the females who seed to have their eyes glued to them. Such handso n, such cool n!
The two walked into the manager’s office as if no one else were around.
Ivan went in for a minute before coming out again and headed to Camila Ruiz’s office.
Although Camila was working, her heart was still uneasy. She didn’t know why Jimmy hadn’t answered her calls or returned her texts for a week. Was he very busy, or had sothing happened to him?
She knew the organization was very mysterious, and she learned from her father how dangerous it was to be a young master, often targeted for assassination. Years ago, it was due to such circumstances that Noah Reyes disappeared after a romantic encounter with Adele Horne. She had also personally witnessed an assassination attempt on Jimmy Horne; it was as terrifying as one could imagine.
She was very concerned!
Putting down the pen, she picked up the phone again, dialing the number she rembered even in her dreams.
"Camila, who are you calling?"
Ivan suddenly pushed the door open and entered.
Camila quickly hung up, her pretty face turning slightly red, replying, "No one."
Ivan smiled, walked over to her, leaned on the desk with his hands, and stared at her, saying, "Are you trying to hide things from too? Were you calling Billy?"
"This past week, Billy hasn’t answered my calls, Ivan. I’m afraid sothing might have happened to him." Camila knew she couldn’t hide it from Ivan, so she admitted honestly that she was calling Billy Horne.
Ivan’s eyes flickered with a teasing smile as he raised his hand, patting her shoulder, reassuring her, "Don’t worry, Billy will be fine. Trust him. Co to my office; I have a big gift for you."
Camila looked up, curious and smiling, "Ivan, what’s today?"
Ivan smiled as he pulled her up, saying, "Does it have to be a special day for to give you a gift? Trust , you will definitely, definitely like this big gift."
In the eyes of others, Ivan could be unpredictable, sotis cold, sotis gentle, sotis cavalier. But in front of Camila Ruiz, he showed his truest self.
The two walked out of the office, heading towards the manager’s office.
No wonder there were rumors about them being an engaged couple. Who wouldn’t, given that Camila was the only woman close to Ivan in his life, plus their parents were good friends, with comparable family backgrounds, having grown up together as childhood friends. The n of the Horne family had a fondness for childhood sweethearts. Glades, Marcel were the sa, and with Ivan and Camila together, everyone thought it was a natural progression.
Opening the office door, Ivan stepped aside to let Camila enter first.
Camila couldn’t help but laugh, "Ivan, since when did you learn to be so gentlemanly like my brother Laecuja?"
Ivan imdiately knocked on her head, chuckling, "Silly girl, do you think of as a rough man? Just because your brother Laecan is a gentleman, I can’t be one too?"
"I’m already twenty-three, and you’re still knocking on my head." Camila rubbed the spot he knocked, smiling as she walked in.
Standing by the window, Jimmy Horne listened to their friendly and natural conversation, feeling a twinge of jealousy. Even though he knew that his brother only saw Camila as a sister to be cherished, witnessing their closeness made his heart sour.
But at the sa ti, he was grateful to God; if his older brother had also fallen in love with Camila, he probably wouldn’t stand a chance against him.
The door was gently closed from the outside by Ivan Horne.
"Brother Ivan, why are you..." Camila Ruiz suddenly stopped speaking, staring in shock at the tall and upright figure standing by the floor-to-ceiling window. The back view felt familiar, yet also sowhat unfamiliar to her.
She stood there, unmoving, glaring at that back with wide eyes.
The figure turned around, and it was indeed Jimmy Horne, whom she had been waiting for these eight years.
"Camila."
As soon as Jimmy Horne turned around, he imdiately walked toward her.
He eagerly pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly when he reached her.
"Camila, I’m back."
Camila Ruiz ca to her senses and imdiately pushed him away forcefully, turning to open the door and run out.
"Camila."
Jimmy Horne was startled by her push and her imdiate action to run away, leaving him flustered. Without thinking much, he hurriedly chased after her.
People outside were busy with their own affairs when they suddenly saw Camila Ruiz rushing out of the manager’s office, while Ivan Horne, the manager, was sitting outside. Imdiately following, they heard a panicked low call, and then saw a tall figure rushing out— it was the handso yet aloof man who appeared with their manager.
Camila Ruiz ignored Jimmy Horne’s calls and swiftly ran to the elevator, pressing the button and quickly disappearing inside. By the ti Jimmy Horne arrived, the elevator had already closed.
"Damn it!"
Jimmy Horne cursed under his breath, not caring too much about anything else, and instead ran toward the CEO’s private elevator, opened the door, and got inside.
The CEO’s private elevator—aside from Glades Horne and others, no one else dared to use it. Jimmy Horne wasn’t a part of Valence Group, yet he dared to use it, scaring the employees.
Ivan Horne had a smile on his face; he knew that Camila would get angry when she saw Billy, who caused this surprise that worried her. Serves him right!
It would be best if Camila ignored him for ten days to half a month, didn’t answer his calls, and didn’t reply to his ssages, treating him as he treated her.
He had to admit, Ivan Horne was truly gloating at this mont.
Camila Ruiz didn’t know why she pushed away Jimmy Horne’s embrace, didn’t know why she turned and ran.
She only knew to run, knew that at that mont she didn’t want to see him.
For a week, she had called, sent ssages, and he didn’t answer, didn’t reply. Suddenly, he appeared alive right in front of her, what did he an by this? To surprise her? But if he wanted to surprise her, he shouldn’t tease her like this; didn’t he know she was worried about him?
Damn Jimmy Horne is still as annoying as ever!
On the first floor, Camila Ruiz rushed out of the office building, attracting everyone’s attention.
"Camila."
Jimmy Horne soon chased her out.
He ran faster than Camila Ruiz, grabbing her as she ran out of the office building.
"Camila, I’m sorry, it’s my fault, don’t go, Camila."
Jimmy Horne was filled with regret; his brother wasn’t wrong at all, Camila would be mad.
He was wrong, he knew he was wrong.
He shouldn’t have joked with her like that, shouldn’t have prepared a surprise like that. Even if he was so busy he didn’t have ti to use the restroom, he shouldn’t have ignored her calls, not replied to her ssages. But when he had ti, it was often the middle of the night, and he was afraid his call and ssages would disturb her sleep.
This surprise was both intentional and unintentional.
"Let go, you got the wrong person, I’m not Camila, I’m Wang Baochuan!"
Camila Ruiz forcefully shook off his hand, blurting out.
Wang Baochuan waited eighteen years for Xue Pinggui after he left, he made her wait, and eight years have passed, making her feel like Wang Baochuan.
Who is Wang Baochuan?
Jimmy Horne quickly searched his mind; he didn’t know.
After shaking off his hand, Camila Ruiz turned to run again. He quickly pulled her back, domineeringly wrapping her in his arms, holding her tightly, and urgently said, "Camila, I’m sorry."
"Don’t call Camila, I said I’m not Camila, I’m Wang Baochuan!"
