"That girl always likes eating out. Does she find the food at ho not good enough?" Mila Anderson muttered, not overly concerned.
Julia smiled. The ho chefs always prepared the sa few dishes. Even if they rotated daily, after eating them for over twenty years, one would naturally grow tired of them.
"What about Jimmy?"
"He went out early this morning and hasn’t returned yet. There’s a ninety-nine percent chance he’s hanging out at the Ruiz Family’s place." When speaking of her sensible little grandson, Mila’s face filled with indulgent love.
Julia smiled again without asking further and began to drink her soup.
Glades Horne didn’t co back at noon, saying he was busy. He only called Julia to remind her to eat well, sleep well, and not to overwork herself.
In the afternoon, Julia didn’t return to her company. Instead, she visited another company to check on things. Then, she arranged to et Rachel Bailey for afternoon tea, bringing her son and the little beauty along with her from ho.
"Aunt Julia, when will our young master return?"
The little beauty sat in Julia’s car, her pretty eyes looking at Julia as she politely asked.
Julia, while driving, smiled and replied, "You’ll be able to see your young master in a little while."
This little girl, always talking about the young master. Was she born just for him? She’s so young yet so loyal. I bet even if she were killed, her heart would still belong to Jimmy Horne.
Julia had arranged to et Rachel at the Phoenix Hotel. It served afternoon tea snacks, and people who enjoyed afternoon tea frequented the place.
While Julia was cheerfully enjoying afternoon tea with her son and friend, Adele Horne was still at Naless Manor, unable to sort out her feelings.
She hadn’t even eaten.
After wandering through every corner of Naless Manor, touching everything, she finally returned to the study on the second floor.
There, she saw a large bunch of keys—the keys to the entire Naless Manor.
Sitting in the black chair Noah Reyes often occupied, she felt sowhat bored, yet with a hint of curiosity, she began to rummage through the items on his desk.
Then she saw the drawings Noah had once made. Deon Myers had said the person in them was her.
She flipped through them one by one. Each portrait only bore a slight resemblance to her; Noah had mostly drawn them to look like so other beautiful woman.
She let out a soft, low laugh. His painting skills are so poor, yet he still wants to use drawings to find soone!
But when she flipped to the last picture, she froze. It wasn’t a drawing, but a few large words written in black ink: "Adele Horne, I love you!"
The characters were bold and vigorous, written with a flourish; one could tell at a glance they were Noah Reyes’s handwriting.
Placing all the portraits on the desk, Adele held the paper with the words and scrutinized it. Looking at those words, she felt deeply struck.
He must have written these words filled with love for , right? Because looking at them, I can feel his intense love. He once told in person that he loved , but I didn’t believe him and felt nothing. Now, after his sudden departure, seeing his handwriting, I can actually feel his love.
"Adele."
A deep voice suddenly sounded.
Adele was startled. She looked up, a little flustered, and only cald down when she saw the tall figure of her brother, Glades Horne, standing at the study room doorway. She subconsciously pressed the paper with the words back underneath the pile of portraits.
"Brother, what brings you here?"
Adele stood up and nonchalantly rearranged the portraits, preparing to put them back in their original place.
Glades strode in, stood before the desk, took the portraits from her hands, and flipped through them. Then, he said coolly, "That fellow drew all of these, didn’t he? The person in them is actually you."
"Who knows. It doesn’t look like at all," Adele said coolly, not wanting to show her disappointnt in front of her brother.
Glades inevitably saw those bold and vigorous words.
He stared at the paper for a mont before setting it down. Looking at his sister, he said in a low, serious voice, "Co ho with , Adele." Noah Reyes once lived here; his enemies will surely find out. If you stay here too long, it could be dangerous.
Adele nodded. Appearing as if she had no lingering feelings for the place, she followed Glades Horne out of the study. Before leaving, however, she took the entire set of keys to the manor with her.
Glades Horne’s guess had been entirely correct.
Just half an hour after the siblings had left, a group of n in black silently appeared at the manor’s entrance. Seeing that the gates were locked and there was no movent in the courtyard, they climbed over the wall and slipped inside. All exits of the main house were also locked. After confirming the manor was deserted, the n in black quietly departed.
However, it wasn’t long before they returned, lurking around the manor’s periter, seemingly ready to ambush their prey.
Danger had descended like a vast, silent net, omnipresent and waiting to ensnare Adele Horne and her son at any mont.
「Ti passed quietly.」
「Evening arrived in the blink of an eye.」
Julia returned with the three little ones.
Glades Horne was already ho, waiting.
Hearing the sound of a car, he stepped outside and waited with a smile in the courtyard for his beloved wife.
"Daddy!"
"Uncle!"
Ivan Horne and Jimmy Horne ran excitedly towards Glades as soon as they saw him.
Julia, holding the little beauty’s hand, followed behind.
Glades bent slightly and scooped up the little ones who ran to him, one in each arm.
"They’re so big now, and you’re still carrying them. Aren’t you tired?" Julia said with an amused smile as she approached.
Glades smiled affectionately. He was strong; although the two little ones had grown a bit taller, their weight hadn’t changed much, so he could still carry them.
"I’ll have Uncle Ying take the little beauty ho," Julia said, turning as if to look for him.
"No need," replied Glades.
He walked towards the house with the two brothers, Ivan and Jimmy, in his arms.
Julia, confused, followed behind him with the little beauty and asked, "Why?" Could it be that Jimmy Horne agreed to let Florence Ford move into the Horne Family house? But Jimmy hadn’t ntioned anything about that this afternoon.
"Noah Reyes is gone. He took everyone with him. The little beauty has no adults to look after her at the manor, so let her stay with us for now," Glades explained.
What? Noah Reyes is gone? Why did he leave? And he took everyone with him! Then what about Adele? What will happen to Adele? And what about Jimmy? Could it be because I deliberately pushed my sister-in-law towards Noah Reyes, causing them to argue, and then Noah left in a fit of anger? Thinking this, Julia’s expression tensed, and she asked in a low voice, "Where’s Adele?"
"She’s in her room," Glades answered.
Julia imdiately headed upstairs.
"Julia, be careful with the baby in your belly!" Glades called out with concern, but Julia, already ascending the stairs, left his worried voice behind her.
