His steps were heavy, as was his expression.

But he was resolute.

Upon seeing Julia Bluen, a hint of slyness flashed across his eyes.

Julia Bluen received his gaze, sensing a hint of pleading in it. She glanced at Glades Horne, still standing in the distance, and wondered what he had just said to Noah Reyes. Instead of asking Noah Reyes, she walked towards Glades Horne.

Noah Reyes stood before the villa’s entrance and pressed the doorbell of the Ruiz residence.

Inside, the Ruiz family and their two children were having dinner. The last vestiges of twilight were fading; all the lights were on, and the streetlamps in the courtyard had lit up one after another.

The two children were squabbling over the food. Whatever dish Camila Ruiz liked best, Jimmy Horne would deliberately snatch it. Even the dishes Camila Ruiz disliked, Jimmy Horne would still grab.

Rachel Bailey watched the tussle between her daughter and Jimmy Horne with an amused smile.

She herself hadn’t co from a prestigious background, unlike Julia with her innate air of nobility. Now, she was trying her best to raise her daughter with every advantage, hoping to cultivate her into a little princess with a noble temperant. Indeed, her daughter hadn’t disappointed her, growing more beautiful by the day. Unfortunately, all her daughter’s elegance vanished in front of Jimmy Horne.

To contend with Jimmy Horne, her daughter would even abandon her poise.

It seed these two were fated rivals from a past life.

"Why haven’t Glades and Julia arrived yet?" Rachel Bailey took out her phone, planning to call Julia Bluen once more.

Hansen Ruiz’s broad hand reached out to stop her.

"They’re here already," Hansen Ruiz said with a warm smile, just as the doorbell rang outside again.

Had Glades Horne arrived without confronting Noah Reyes? Hansen Ruiz wondered. He was certain the person ringing the doorbell now was Noah Reyes.

DING-DONG, DING-DONG...

As Hansen Ruiz speculated, a call from Glades Horne ca through on his phone.

He hurriedly answered.

"Ruiz, open the door and let Noah Reyes in," Glades Horne said, his deep voice revealing no hint of his emotions.

Hansen Ruiz raised an eyebrow. See? I was right. The one ringing the doorbell is indeed Noah Reyes.

"Alright, I got it." Hansen Ruiz didn’t ask why. He knew Glades Horne must have his reasons for allowing Noah Reyes to enter.

Standing up, Hansen Ruiz walked outside once again and personally opened the villa’s main door for Noah Reyes. Seeing Noah Reyes’s nurous subordinates, he smiled as warmly as a spring breeze, saying, "My house is small, so your n should stay outside."

The dozen or so n in black glared at Hansen Ruiz in unison, their synchronized movent making Hansen Ruiz’s smile grow even broader.

"Truly elite forces of the Raging Fla Gang, huh? Even the way you glare is coordinated. But sorry, this is my turf, and I call the shots here. I said you can’t co in, so you can’t—unless your leader wants to stay out too," Hansen Ruiz said with a smile; the more malicious his thoughts, the broader his smile grew.

"Hansen, don’t get too smug," Rachel Bailey said, stepping out of the house. Hearing her husband’s arrogant and rude words, she couldn’t help but chide him.

Noah Reyes turned his head and swept a glance over his n, signaling with his eyes that they didn’t need to follow.

Hansen Ruiz wouldn’t dare to harm him.

"Boss!" his n called out in low voices.

Noah Reyes’s eyes darkened. His n imdiately fell silent, as if frozen by the sudden chill.

Rachel Bailey walked up to Hansen Ruiz’s side, looked at Noah Reyes, and politely said, "Mr. Black, please co in." She saw Glades Horne’s car parked not too far away and guessed that Glades had already agreed to let Noah Reyes see Jimmy Horne.

"Rachel, why are you so polite to this guy?"

Hansen Ruiz finished speaking and moved to block Noah Reyes’s path. He didn’t want to make it easy for him. Investigating Noah Reyes had consud a great deal of his ti. Furthermore, he had invested considerable effort and thought into curbing the expansion of the Black Emperor Group. Noah Reyes had previously done things that infuriated them all. Now was his chance to get even; if he missed it, he might not get another.

"Go inside and eat your food!" Rachel Bailey pushed his large hand away and then smiled at Noah Reyes. "Mr. Black, Jimmy is having his al. Please, co in and take a seat." Then, she beckoned Noah Reyes towards the house.

Hansen Ruiz, having been scolded by his loving wife, touched his nose. Watching his wife’s still petite and delicate figure, he couldn’t help muttering, "Seeing a handso man makes her forget she’s married."

Although Rachel Bailey was walking ahead, she still heard Hansen Ruiz’s muttering.

She imdiately turned around, stood before Hansen Ruiz, tilted her small face up, her large eyes sparkling, and replied with a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes, "Darling, you’re wrong. Seeing a handso man is precisely what reminds that I’m married. If I weren’t married, maybe I’d have a chance to chase after a handso guy."

"Don’t even think about it!" Hansen Ruiz imdiately tightened his hold around her waist.

"If you keep muttering like that, you just see if I won’t consider it! Don’t forget, my head and heart are my own. If I set my mind to it, what can you do to stop ?" Rachel Bailey completely disregarded his domineering tone.

In this lifeti, it seed Hansen Ruiz was destined to be thoroughly managed by Rachel Bailey.

Hansen Ruiz glared at her, glared fiercely. But after just fifty-nine seconds, he cracked a smile and said in a placating tone, "Alright, I’ll stop muttering. Honey, I’ll listen to you. I’ll listen to everything you say. Don’t be angry, okay? You’re not pretty when you’re angry." As he spoke, he walked into the house with his arm around Rachel Bailey.

Noah Reyes, who had stopped in his tracks, along with his n who were blocked outside the villa, were all dumbfounded.

So, the ’smiling tiger’ was a complete pushover when it ca to his wife!

The n of the Raging Fla Gang were all rather chauvinistic. Seeing Hansen Ruiz fawning over his wife like that, they looked as if they had seen a monster. This man, whom they considered a rival, had all his dominance and cunning vanish in front of his wife.

The rumors weren’t false at all! When it ca to doting on one’s wife, Glades Horne was undoubtedly number one in T City. But as for being the ultimate ’wife-slave,’ that distinction, they figured, belonged to Hansen Ruiz!

Julia Bluen walked up to Glades Horne’s side.

"What did you two talk about? How could you agree to let Noah Reyes co in? You didn’t agree to let Noah Reyes take Jimmy away, did you?"

Glades Horne pressed his lips together, saying nothing.

"Or, did you agree on so kind of condition?"

Glades Horne turned around, staring at Hansen Ruiz’s villa, his lips curving into a faint, cold smirk. He said in a low tone, "I made a bet with Noah Reyes. I bet whether he can get Jimmy to call him ’Daddy’ and follow him willingly. If he wins, I’ll stop preventing him from seeing Adele and let things take their course. If he loses, he must disappear from our sight imdiately and never co looking for Adele or Jimmy again."

Julia Bluen’s eyes sparkled. Wasn’t Noah Reyes practically guaranteed to lose?
