Glades Horne's handso face tightened as he stared out at the distant sea. He spoke in a cool tone, "I think that person has made a move." He was referring to the mastermind behind the riots in several of their subsidiaries.

Hansen Ruiz's tense expression relaxed as he spoke, his deep eyes twinkling. "The opponent is clearly targeting our Valence Group. If one plan fails, they co up with a second. This is normal. Glades, our days ahead won't be boring. I just hope our rival doesn't die too quickly."

Glades Horne pursed his lips and remained silent.

There were many who wanted to topple the Valence Group from the throne of T City's business world. This ti, who would be the next one daring enough to step up? But seeing all the efforts the opponent had made, he thought that this battle might last a bit longer.

"Glades," Hansen Ruiz suddenly asked, his face alight with curiosity, "how does it feel to be a father?"

Glades Horne glanced sideways at him and replied indifferently, "Why ask? In three or four months, you'll get to know for yourself."

"I know, I just wanted to get so tips from you in advance. You know, Rachel's family lives quite a distance from here, and so does mine. When Rachel gives birth, I'll be the main one taking care of her and the baby. I think I need to start gathering experience beforehand."

"You could take one of those mother's Training Classes," Glades Horne replied, turning as he walked back.

"The Training Classes are mostly attended by won. As a grown man, well, I'd feel a little embarrassed," Hansen Ruiz said, turning to follow him.

When Glades Horne got into the car, he tossed out with a slight smile, "That would just prove how much you dote on your little woman."

"So, does that an your affection for Julia is fake since you haven't joined a Training Class?" Hansen Ruiz retorted, not wanting to be outdone.

Glades Horne just smiled. "How do you know I won't join one?"

Upon hearing this, Hansen Ruiz's eyes lit up as he exclaid, "Let's go together then!"

Glades Horne didn't respond to him anymore and drove away.

He certainly didn't want to accompany Hansen Ruiz; with so many experienced people at ho, he could easily pick any one of them to be an excellent teacher.

Yet, he was quite curious to see Hansen Ruiz, a prominent figure and a man of stature, showing up in a class full of mothers. Wouldn't that scene be particularly amusing?

Julia and Adele were discharged from the hospital and returned ho for their postpartum confinent on the third day after giving birth.

Postpartum confinent for a woman was almost like being in prison. She had to stay in her room all day, wasn't allowed to walk around much, and had to ensure she ate and slept well. Otherwise, many lingering health issues could arise. Sitting too much during this period could lead to back pain in the future. Exposure to drafts could result in postpartum chills, which in turn could cause the mother to lose her appetite and not want to eat.

Any woman who has been a mother will say that it's crucial to handle postpartum care properly. Giving birth and undergoing postpartum care were like a rebirth for a woman.

The Horne Family hired two experienced nannies for each baby, taking turns caring for them.

Even though they were a wealthy family, the doctors still recomnded breastfeeding as best for the babies. After much consideration, Julia and her sister-in-law decided to breastfeed the babies, planning to switch to formula after they reached six months old.

Dietary restrictions during postpartum were strict, especially for breastfeeding mothers. This was because whatever the mother ate, the baby would essentially consu as well. Newborns have delicate, underdeveloped digestive systems that can't tolerate much irritation, so breastfeeding mothers had to be particularly careful with their diets to prevent upsetting the baby's stomach.

The postpartum diet varied by region. So places served mothers pig's feet stewed with vinegar, ginger, and eggs, claiming it was very nourishing and suitable for postpartum recovery. Other areas prepared chicken stir-fried with sticky rice sweet wine and, of course, ginger. Eggs were also common. In fact, ginger was an essential ingredient in almost everything.

The Horne Family, keen to ensure that both new mothers ate heartily at each al without growing tired of the food, constantly varied the dishes they prepared. When the mothers ate well, the babies thrived too.

Scarlett Taylor also prepared different foods for Julia each day and brought them to the Horne Family residence.

Indeed, Julia had just finished lunch and fed her baby. While she was playing with her son, Scarlett Taylor ca in with a thermal lunch box, accompanied by Ruby Bluen.

"Mrs. Bluen, Second Young Madam," the attendant nanny greeted the mother and daughter with a smile as they entered.

"Julia, why are you sitting up again? You should lie down more. Oh, my precious grandson, co, let Grandma hold you!" Scarlett Taylor exclaid as she entered the inner room and saw Julia leaning against the bed. With a cheerful laugh, she passed the thermal lunch box she was holding to Ruby Bluen. Then, her face full of maternal warmth, she sat by the bed and carefully lifted the soft, incredibly adorable baby into her arms.

The baby, having eaten his fill, appeared lively and bright. Babies change every day; they grow so quickly. At this mont, his dark eyes were wide and rolling around, as if filled with curiosity about everything.

"So cute," Ruby Bluen said, sitting down next to her mother. They both started cooing at the baby.

"He gets quite feisty when he's hungry," Julia said with a faint smile.

"Who has a good temper when they're hungry?" Scarlett Taylor chided her daughter with a laugh. Then she reproached her, "Didn't I tell you to lie down more? Get back to bed. Sitting for too long will give you terrible back pain later. You're still young; if you develop such an ailnt now, you'll suffer for a long ti."

"I just finished eating," Julia replied, but obediently lay down anyway.

"Mom made you sothing delicious. Do you want to eat so more?"

Julia glanced at the thermal lunch box her mother had brought and chuckled. "Mom, I'm fed very well every day. You don't have to worry or go to the trouble of preparing three als a day for ."

Her in-laws treated her like a treasure, and her own family nurtured her just the sa. She worried that after her month of confinent, she would beco a plump lady.

No wonder so many won's figures changed after giving birth; it was all due to the diet during postpartum confinent.

"I have nothing else to do at ho anyway."

Julia blinked. Knowing she couldn't win against her mother, she simply stopped arguing.

Outside the Horne family villa, Pheobe Rogers hid near the gate. Whenever unobserved, she cast a venomous gaze at the villa's interior. If soone walked into the courtyard, she would quickly hide again.

Ever since Julia had given birth, she had been lurking in the shadows, watching.

Glades Horne had stolen her son's affection; she wanted to steal Glades Horne's son—but... she chuckled darkly. What she wanted was Glades Horne's son's life!

She wasn't going to have any good days left anyway; Glades Horne was the one who had robbed her of her happiness. She didn't want to live anymore. To get revenge on Glades Horne, she wanted his son to die with her!

There was still no news about her son, Jas Horne, which was her greatest source of anxiety and heartache. It was Jas, her son, who worried her and pained her the most. It was all Glades! All Glades' fault! I hate Glades Horne to death! I hate him! Her hatred was so consuming that her mind was solely focused on how to retaliate against Glades, completely ignoring Jas Horne's feelings.

Seeing Scarlett Taylor erge from the house, Mila Anderson cheerfully escorted her out. One had beco a maternal grandmother, the other a paternal grandmother, and both were ecstatic. The sight of their imnse joy was like a needle in Pheobe Rogers's eye, further inflaming her vengeful heart.

Clenching her teeth, she hissed, "Laugh all you want now. Soon, I'll make it so you can't even cry!"

Why? Gian Horne had loved her the most, yet she was forced to live as the hated "other woman." Thirty years had passed, and what did she have to show for it? Nothing! I can't accept this! I just can't!

Why did my son, who also carried Horne blood, have nothing?

Why couldn't my son inherit the Valence Group? Why couldn't I beco the matriarch of the family?

So much resentnt and greed had devoured all of Pheobe Rogers's humanity. She was like soone caught in an obsessive fixation, burrowing deeper and deeper, unable to break free.
