But he said nothing, not even a word of thanks.

Rebecca Hughes didn't care whether he would express his gratitude. After placing the coffee in front of him, she wandered around his office until he finished work for the day.

"I really don't understand how a grown man like you would like to drive a red car." Rebecca followed Jas Horne out of the Office Building to the parking lot. As she slipped into her white Porsche—which was always impeccably clean, indicating her love for cars and how well she maintained hers—she mused aloud.

She had ntioned more than once that it was unsuitable for Jas Horne to drive a red Audi, feeling that it didn't match his personality.

Jas pressed his lips together and remained silent. He opened the car door, climbed in, and drove away.

After leaving the company, he headed straight for Golden Kirin Garden.

It wasn't until he had driven so distance that he realized Rebecca Hughes was still following him toward Golden Kirin Garden. His brows knitted together. What was that woman doing following him?

So, he slowed down his car.

And then—WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Rebecca took the opportunity to overtake his car and, without looking back, triumphantly gave him a thumbs-down gesture. She almost turned his handso face green with irritation.

He had wanted to ask her why she was still following him, but she had turned it into a car race instead.

Forget it, he thought. Don't bother with her; just pretend she doesn't exist.

Shortly afterward, the two cars—one white and one red—almost simultaneously pulled up in front of the Horne family villa.

The gate of the Horne family villa was unexpectedly open that evening because the Horne family's foremost National Treasure Level figure, Julia Bluen, was strolling in front of it, probably waiting for Glades Horne to co ho.

Julia was sowhat surprised to see the red and white cars co to a stop. When she saw that a twenty-four- or twenty-five-year-old girl was sitting in the white Porsche and that the girl had followed Jas back, she thought the girl was Jas's girlfriend and couldn't help but smile.

If Jas had a girlfriend, then her overbearing husband wouldn't have to get jealous for no reason.

Jas stopped his car only when he saw Julia in front of the gate; he hadn't driven straight into the villa.

He opened the door and stepped out, intending to quickly approach Julia. The evening wind rose, however, making it feel a bit cold. Julia seed to be wearing very little, and he worried she might catch a chill. However, as he was about to approach her, he suddenly rembered his status and restrained his brisk pace. After getting out of the car, he rely stood in front of the vehicle, looking at Julia with a smile, and spoke in a deep voice, "It's getting windy and cold this evening. Why are you out here instead of inside? My brother will be worried if he sees you like this."

Without his older brother present, he was extrely reluctant to call Julia "sister-in-law," as that title pained his heart.

His cool gaze carried a subtle longing as he etched Julia's appearance deeply into his heart. Having seldom seen her at recent evening gatherings, he hadn't encountered her for many days, and he realized how much he missed her. Even just a glimpse felt rewarding to him.

Knowing he couldn't continue to love, knowing he shouldn't hope for more, his heart was nonetheless difficult to detach, impossible to still.

"Jas, is that your girlfriend?" Julia walked over to where Rebecca, who had also gotten out of her car, stood. With a friendly smile, Julia extended her hand for a handshake and said, "Hello, I'm Jas's sister-in-law. My na is..."

"I know your na." Rebecca smiled back, and as they shook hands, she introduced herself. These two won, both sowhat unconventional daughters of elite families, seed to hit it off imdiately, chatting and laughing together, leaving Jas feeling excluded.

When Jas heard Julia refer to Rebecca as his girlfriend, his expression imdiately darkened. He strode forward, shoved Rebecca back into her car, and said coldly, "Your part is done here; leave imdiately and don't follow back to this place in the future!"

"Jas, how can you treat your girlfriend like this?" Before Rebecca could react, Julia couldn't help but defend her.

Jas turned around abruptly, fixing Julia with an exceptionally heavy gaze. That look weighed heavily on Julia's heart; his special regard for her was sothing she had long known. She had thought he would move on, but unexpectedly...

After staring at Julia for a minute, Jas emphasized word by word, "She is not my girlfriend! My heart belongs to another; there is only one woman I will love in this lifeti!"

Then, with anguish, he turned around and took heavy steps back to his car. He got in quickly, turned the car around, and instead of driving into the Horne family villa, he decided to leave.

From a distance, the headlights of a familiar Rolls-Royce lit up as it drove toward them.
