After saying goodbye to Bao Nan, Jiang Tong turned the key in the apartnt door.

As soon as she entered, she saw Xia Qiao sitting on the sofa, peeling an apple.

"Oh, Chief Prosecutor Jiang is finally willing to co ho!"

Xia Qiao crossed her legs and looked at Jiang Tong with a teasing smile.

Actually, she had just co back from the hospital herself.

Jiang Tong threw the pillow she had just gotten onto the spot next to Xia Qiao, her face full of disdain, "Taking over my little nest and still so much nonsense."

"Tch." Xia Qiao curled her lips, "Where have you been fooling around? Your mouth is all crooked from smiling."

"No, do you still rember that junior from the debate club who used to follow around all day?"

"I rember, what about him?"

"Turns out the little twerp actually likes , almost gave a heart attack." Jiang Tong gestured dramatically with her hands.

Xia Qiao twitched her mouth in exasperation.

She thought it was so earth-shattering news.

Turns out it was just this little thing.

Tch, she had already seen through it long ago.

It was just that emotionally clueless Jiang Tong, always oblivious.

"Isn’t this sothing everyone knew back in the day?"

"Really? How co I didn’t notice?"

Jiang Tong swore to herself, if she had known Chen Changlu’s feelings earlier, she would have kept her distance.

Not because of anything else, mainly because of her parents.

They made her extrely insecure about marriage and very resistant to others’ affections.

"You’re just dumb."

Xia Qiao brushed her earlobe, rcilessly teasing her.

Jiang Tong grabbed another pillow and tossed it at her face, "Get out of here, how are you talking to ?"

Since they t in high school, this was how the two of them got along.

Mutually disdainful yet warmly supportive.

"Hey, Qiao’er, by the way, why did you go abroad back then?"

After so joking around, Jiang Tong suddenly asked her this question.

Back then, after graduating high school, Xia Qiao had hurriedly gone abroad without even telling Jiang Tong.

And then three years later, she mysteriously reappeared in her apartnt, almost scaring her half to death.

At Jiang Tong’s words, Xia Qiao’s smile gradually faded, a hint of gloom in her eyes.

"Alright, I know what you’re thinking, don’t give the excuse of studying abroad. We’re so familiar with each other, wouldn’t I know what you’re really thinking?"

Jiang Tong furrowed her brows, imdiately seeing through the excuses Xia Qiao was about to make.

The two stayed silent for a while.

Finally, Xia Qiao slowly got up and stood by the window sill.

"Do you really want to know the reason?"

"Isn’t it obvious?"

Xia Qiao gave a bitter smile, "Lin Yangbo’s mom ca to see ."

Damn!

Jiang Tong had thought of many possible reasons why Xia Qiao would have left the country, but not this one.

"Are you serious, Xia Qiao, just because of this you decided to avoid us all?" she couldn’t help but speak, "Why didn’t you tell ?"

If she had known, she would have stord into the Lin Family to get justice for Xia Qiao.

It’s the modern age! Everyone is equal, how can these viewpoints still exist?

Xia Qiao lowered her gaze and said slowly, "Jiang Tong, you grew up in this environnt, so you can’t understand. Just eting her mother showed the gap, it’s sothing beyond my reach."

She was very fortunate to have a friend like Jiang Tong who cared for her this lifeti.

But in this world...

Not everyone is like Jiang Tong...
