Ulysses did not continue the conversation, because he knew he had touched on a complicated subject.

He took Matthew’s positive opinion of his internal governnt model as confirmation that they were doing things right.

"My brother is waiting for you inside, Mr. Matthew," he said, stopping in front of the Clan’s visiting room.

"Very well. Thank you for your guidance," he replied casually, before entering without asking permission.

On the other side, a handso man with a trimd beard and slicked-back hair was waiting for him, with a woman behind him.

This woman...

She made Matthew smile.

After the three of them entered, the back door closed and Matthew nodded.

"Better than I expected, then. For you to be there ans your work has been splendid," he said.

The woman removed the mask covering her features.

Mia Holr.

She smiled.

"I guess I was lucky," he said.

The man sitting there then stood up.

"Matthew Dietrich, I treated your wife well. I didn’t even allow others to look at her, even though she is human and so would want to eat her. I kept her out of trouble when I knew she was coming on a mission for you. I hope to receive at least a little approval from Dietrich for having done this," said the leader of the Wagner Clan.

Patrick Wagner.

"Well, how much of the mission did she complete before you realized it?" Matthew asked.

"Almost all of it. I realized it because she noticed we weren’t traitors and told ."

Matthew then looked at Mia. "You’ve got guts. If that had gone wrong, you’d be history now."

She shrugged, she had no answers for that. Instead, she looked at Charlotte. "Miss Charlotte, I have already completed the mission you entrusted with here. Should I move on to the next one?" she asked.

"No, you’ll get your break," Charlotte replied and looked at Patrick. "We t once, do you still rember?"

Patrick smiled. "I thought you’d be the toughest nut to crack of all humans when I saw you, but I guess we also have a tough nut to crack that’s been around for a long ti."

"That’s right. But I’ll thank you for treating my little girl well. She’s a good girl who has important missions to carry out for our plan," she replied.

"No need to thank ," said Patrick. "I just hope that plan doesn’t involve the destruction of my race."

"I’m sure it doesn’t."

"Haha, I’ll take that then." Patrick looked back at Matthew to speak to him. "What do you want to do now, Mr. Matthew? Miss Holr has told a little about your mission..."

"Things have changed a bit, but not that much. What we’ll do now is retake control of the Blacksmith Kingdom."

"Do we have enough forces?" Patrick asked.

"That’s what I’m asking you," Matthew replied. "The Wagner Clan is the leader of the Kingdom. My forces are fighting on all sides at once. We need to move fast."

"Good." Patrick nodded and grabbed a local device they used for communication. "Mobilize the troops throughout the kingdom. It’s ti for a rebellion. The Blacksmith Kingdom will be taken by our hand through treachery," he ordered imdiately.

Even Matthew, Charlotte, and the quiet Jack were shocked, looking at each other’s faces.

Was this guy always so decisive? My God, he had just said sothing and already said they were going to take the kingdom at once, without hesitation or further questions.

As they stood there stunned, looking at each other, suddenly screams woke them up.

"Father, I’ve heard we’re going to war!" Liam Wagner said, bursting through the door.

He was barefoot as usual and shirtless.

When he saw that they had visitors, he was stunned, but as soon as he saw Matthew, he quickly moved in front of him.

"It’s you, young Matthew!" he exclaid, amazed.

"Humans?" He looked at Mia and Charlotte in shock. But if they were in front of his father and weren’t fighting, then everything was fine, so he finally looked at Jack.

"You’re here too, Jack. What is this? Are we going to war with all of you supporting us?"

"Liam..." A deep voice sounded right behind him, and soon he received a hard blow to the head.

Liam crouched down, clutching his head. "Father, what are you doing?"

"What did I tell you about receiving visitors without clothes, you bastard?! Do you want to take personal relationships seriously for once in your life?!" Patrick shouted, hitting him again.

Liam had to resign himself and quickly walked away. "Okay, I understand," he said, and without thinking twice, he put on a shirt he had in his storage ring. Then he put on so makeshift shoes and finally looked at his father.

"Are we going to war?"

Patrick sighed and put his hand to his forehead. "I’m sorry, Mr. Matthew, Miss Charlotte..." he said, apologizing sincerely.

"I don’t think you should apologize for that, it’s just his unique personality," said Matthew, looking at Liam. "It’s been a while, Heir Liam."

"Hahaha, it really has been a long ti," said Liam, still keeping his distance. "Do you want to fight again? I see you’ve gotten stronger."

"No, that’s not why I ca here, although you’ll have plenty of opportunities to fight in a few hours."

"So are we going to war?"

"Obviously. The church thinks it can do whatever it wants in these lands, right? It’s ti to show them who the real masters of this place are."

Liam smiled broadly. "Then I’ll wait for the right mont. I’ll go get ready," he said and finally left the room.

"Tsk, this boy..." Patrick sighed. "Mr. Matthew, since you will be leading this mission, I will grant you temporary status to command our armies," he said.

"Hm?" Matthew blinked, shocked, and looked at him. "Since when did I volunteer to lead your war?"

"Of course you will." Patrick patted him on the shoulder. "You are a great Dietrich and you have good strategists by your side, I’m sure you will do much better than or anyone else in our clan."

"Huh? You know your clan better..."

"All right, thank you, Lord Matthew. I know the mission will go well with you leading us." Patrick quickly interrupted him and handed him a token. "Co on, let’s go. All our people were already prepared in advance for the situation we find ourselves in."

Matthew was stunned to see that Patrick was actually handing over command of his troops and even gave him his own special token.

"What the hell is wrong with these Vampire Clan leaders these days?" He sighed and looked at Charlotte.

Seeing that Charlotte hadn’t been paying attention to what he was saying, he smiled.

"Charlotte, you’ve been tasked with leading an army. Let’s go see it," he said.
