"Emma."

"Yes?"

"I'll tell you in advance because if you're surprised to see it, you could die."

"What's going on, Matthew?"

Matthew smiled. "Follow . I'll take you sowhere."

Then Matthew led her to the place where he worked daily with Paul Cox on the weapons and investigations they were doing on many things.

As he walked through the long corridors, his shoes echoed through the building, which was shaped like a research center on earth. Everything was perfectly clean, but occasionally, different types of slls filled his nostrils.

Sotis, they were horrible slls, like rotting bodies. Rotting flesh seed to be the least of the concerns in this place.

Despite this, Matthew continued on his way through until he reached the end of the research center. At this point, they ca across a mountain, and a door was built into the rock.

They entered, and now they had to find a staircase built straight down until they reached so huge doors made of one of the most resistant minerals in the world. These doors also had several degrees of security, with so kind of technology, with inscriptions, and even part of Matthew's power could be felt in them.

'It's a room with many secrets,' Emma thought.

And then Matthew spoke.

"Do you rember the Curse of the Dagger, Emma?"

"Of course," she replied, smiling a little as she recalled the past. "Because of it, I t you."

"Yes. But that dagger curse is not as simple as we thought at the ti."

"Are we going to see sothing about it?' Emma asked, looking up at the huge doors in front of them.

Matthew nodded as he removed the security chanisms.

"The Curse of the Dagger is actually..." Then he opened the door with a strong push, and a darkened room, dimly lit by a strange green light with many strange things, ca into Emma's view.

But she was not attracted to the 'strange' things in the room, which were surely material for research. Instead, she was drawn to a strange beast that lay in the middle, motionless on the floor.

"That..."

"Yes, the Curse of the Dagger has actually been corrupted. It is now a Monstrous Transformation."

They both approached the motionless beast in the center. Emma looked at it, incredulous.

"That Curse is sothing that is inside people. You an that..."

"Yes, it was a person until recently. When I found the first daggers, I didn't find anything strange, but the more I found them, the more I realized that so had figures of beasts imprinted on them."

"That seed strange to . But then Alice ca across one of these beasts, and so did Gray Allen. From what they told , they seed to have traces of human bodies. Gray, in particular, told that he saw it appear when he was fighting a traitor from the Independent Clans. That's when I realized it could be sothing else we don't know."

"And when I was investigating the daggers, I realized sothing. Those daggers are connected to soone other than their bearer. I assud it would be the controller, so I followed one of them until I found a place where there were many beasts like these. Dead and powerless. That guy threw several more beasts to that place, so I was able to steal one of them."

"It was then that I realized that the Curse of the Dagger is a Monstrous Transformation that, when activated, drains all the blood the living being may have in exchange for giving it a lot of power. But that power is a montary explosion because the real power would begin to be consud and taken to the person with whom the one who used the transformation is connected."

"…Is that why they created religion?" Emma asked after listening to him speak.

Matthew nodded. "That's why they say they can give soone power. Essentially, they give them a small dagger with which they can fight and then a transformation. What they don't tell them is that it will kill them in a matter of ti. But that initial burst of power it gives them is amazing and dangerous; that's why I brought you here."

Matthew then proceeded to show her just how dangerous they could be...

This scene played out in Emma's mind as she punched the huge raven before her.

'A Monstrous Transformation... I didn't expect to see one so soon and, still, to face one.'

As her bones protested loudly when faced with sothing so great and with such overwhelming force, she could hear its every movent, which allowed her to move in advance, as sound travels faster than movent.

Thanks to this, she managed to stand face-to-face against this huge thing, but the difference in power was remarkable.

What's more, this bastard wasn't thinking rationally; little by little, he was losing his ability to think, which made him attack more severely without caring about the civilians or his own subordinates who were fighting in the distance of the city against Emma's few but lethal troops.

Because of this, his attacks were much more lethal than Emma's, who had to asure them carefully.

Emma moved quickly when she saw a key opening on one of its wings and attacked, wanting to knock it to the ground and rob it of its ability to fly.

Her attack was fierce, but huge claws suddenly stopped it, and it moved strangely upwards as if it had broken its legs.

"What?"

In shock, she tried to move to one side to avoid the flapping, but she couldn't do it fast enough and was soon knocked to the ground, rolling through the city.

She rolled for over 200 ters until she ca to a stop.

Her mind felt dizzy and seed to be spinning, which told her that she had lost a lot of blood.

"Girl, it's you!" An astonished shout ca from behind her, making her frown.

'The bar...' Looking back, she saw that the old man she had t earlier was looking at her.

At that mont, several other people appeared.

'My subordinates... Did they arrive in this part of the city so soon?' She thought.

One of the girls was stunned to see Emma in that state. "Madam!"

But Emma was suddenly forced to look ahead as a giant shadow lood over her.

That giant bird was already in front of them, and its claws seed to have been transford into huge knives sharpened by the most expert blacksmiths, who looked like saint weapons.

Emma was stunned for a mont. 'Too fast...'
