554 Hard to believe
The conversations between the two flowed into different topics. She liked to say things, and since Matthew was such a good listener, she was pleased to be able to say everything.
She didn't tire until she literally fell asleep from so much talking.
Matthew was surprised by this. She either had too much confidence in her own abilities or trusted others too easily.
He was almost certain it was the first with all they had talked about. He didn't know what kind of existence he had known, but he did know that he would be in danger if she found out he was Matthew Dietrich.
For at all tis, he did not feel that he could beat her in a fight. What Gray Allen said was true. This woman, in addition to being beautiful, was astonishingly dangerous.
But he knew nothing about her identity. All he knew was that she must be a very high-level devourer, at least at the level of the devourer leaders.
He had a clue or two, but he didn't want to jump to conclusions without proof, as this girl was simply too pure in several ways. An example of that is that she fell asleep on his shoulder, even though she had just t him and had no idea who he was.
Matthew sighed, looked up at the night sky, which didn't change much from the sky during the day, and figured it was ti to go on his way.
'Looks like I'll have to go back and get Sophia to take to the place where Isla used to live. I've already encountered such a being; I suppose going deeper would be dangerous because I could be very close to the devourer settlents. I don't want to look for trouble with them right now, even less knowing that soone so powerful is around to defend them.'
Matthew carefully got up and allowed her to lay her head on a blanket so that it wouldn't touch the ground.
Before leaving, he stroked that girl's face a little. 'Red hair and blue skin, eh? It's peculiar that I find a person with those features so attractive. I think I'll have a hard ti forgetting you.'
Then he turned and left without looking back.
Silence descended upon the place.
.
Several days later, Matthew looked at the sprawling village in front of him in the southern area between the Dark Kingdom, the Richter Kingdom, the Southern Mountainous Area, and the independent territories.
Heir territories are always developed according to the tastes of their heir. Usually, their main buildings are high-rise buildings or castles. Rarely are they villas like the one in front of him.
It looked like a family villa, strangely large in territory but with little construction overall.
'Well, I guess it follows Sophia Murphy's style.'
He saw guards stationed in various areas of the villa and other powerful people coming in and out of there, working for Sophia.
As he approached, they looked at him strangely. They felt they recognized him, but at the sa ti, they felt they did not.
In doubt, they stopped him.
"Excuse , young man. This is a restricted area. May I ask what's on offer? Do you have an appointnt with our lady?"
Matthew nodded at him. "Yes, I have an appointnt with her. May I ask you to inform Sophia that Matthew Dietrich is here to see her?"
They were both shocked. 'Matthew Dietrich?'
Strangely, they felt that na had echoed in their ears recently, but as much as they wanted to rember, they could not.
In the end, they searched their minds for the nas of those they had appointnts with, but they could not rember Matthew Dietrich.
They should have thrown him out as a general rule, but sohow, they couldn't. The guy in front of him could be soone important; they were just dumb, or their brains weren't working right (that's what they thought).
So one nodded to the other, and the second nodded to the first.
Then they looked at Matthew.
"I'll go inform the lady. Can you wait here?"
Matthew smiled. "Of course."
After that, he stayed quietly where he was and waited.
It wasn't long before he saw a beautiful woman appear, followed by the previous man, who was coming in frightened.
"Haha, looks like my sudden visit made you scold your subordinate."
She sighed, shaking her head. "You don't know anything. Not on their shift, but they've co 5 tis saying they were you. I ca out to kick those bastards, but this ti, it is you."
"Hahaha, well, my na is very well known lately; it'll cause you trouble to have been seen with ."
She stopped chatting at the door and invited him inside.
"From what Alice told earlier, you don't usually lie. So it's strange, why did you tell them you had an appointnt if it was a lie? Are little lies allowed?"
"I just wanted to take advantage of my new status. I thought maybe they could overreact and make so good scenes, and then they would welco with honors in the style of fantasy novels. But, it seems my face hasn't co into everyone's view yet."
"Oh? So, taking advantage of the status, huh? I get it. I thought a Dietrich didn't like to play like that, but it looks like I was wrong."
Matthew smiled but didn't respond. They both made their way to the back area of the mansion.
Interestingly, Sophia had a place to wait for her visitor, similar to Charlotte's, and it was comforting and very pleasant, as it had a nice view.
"What brings you here?"
Matthew took a sip of the tea she poured for him, which was enough to collapse the resemblance to Charlotte. 'I suppose it would be demanding a lot.'
He set the cup of tea on the table and looked at her.
"I was training these days in the mountains down south. I heard that's where you found Isla."
Sophia nodded softly.
"What's going on with my little girl? Since I gave her to you, I haven't seen her much. Sotis, I worry about her, but knowing you're there to protect her comforts ."
Matthew shrugged and was direct and honest.
"She's my first wife from 10 million years ago."
His revelation caused Sophia to stand still and frown. She took a while to react and put the cup of tea on the table as well. Then she looked up to see him, confused.
"That's... pretty hard to believe."
"I know, but it is. She recently regained her immortality. But there's sothing that doesn't add up for ."
Sophia held her silence, waiting for him to continue.
"Her essence keeps telling she's in her early twenties. Yet her immortality, mories, and recently recovered mories tell that she is indeed my first wife from 10 million years ago."
