It was amazing, but also dangerous, that a person so young, who had not even reached 140,000 power, could achieve that First Step.
Matthew shrugged. "Are you surprised by sothing like that? Is it so rare to achieve?"
"...Certainly, I’m surprised. You’re not the only one, though. You should watch your back when you fight, by the way." Said the dagger man once more, smiling fiercely at the end of his words. Matthew frowned.
Thanks to the control, he had a near-perfect view of even his back, but those words made him wince a little.
’Shit!’ He suddenly took several steps back, closed, and opened his arms quickly to create a powerful burst of fire, trying to duck away, but at that mont, a dozen daggers crossed his vision from behind, piercing different parts of his body.
Although he managed to move just in ti to avoid a deadly attack, several daggers managed to pierce the flesh on his arms and shoulders. Had he not moved, those daggers had pierced his heart and would have severed his head in a mont.
He was in a dangerous situation but could not understand the motives.
Just then, though, the man in front of him spoke. "It’s called the Path of Deception; do you know it? This is its first level." Smiling.
Matthew’s eyes widened sharply, but he paid no attention to the guy in front of him. He imdiately turned around and threw a strong punch behind him.
But his punch only hit the dagger guy’s hand, and he managed to dissipate all the attack power in a mont. At the sa ti, in his other hand, all the daggers were gathered, aid at Matthew’s stomach.
Matthew couldn’t even react when suddenly, one more voice ca to him. "By the way, I... I’m also a Control Master." Said the man behind him who could replicate his abilities.
This one was surrounded by all his power, perfectly controlled, exerting a kind of powerful pressure on Matthew. At the sa ti, he was launching his last chance at Frozen Ti.
It was only a second he would buy, but... It was enough.
Matthew frowned.
The attack being thrown at him was deadly. No wonder they told him they were more powerful when they were together.
While one can replicate and use the opponent’s abilities, the other can trick him so that he doesn’t even know he’s being attacked. And both have reached First Level within their respective Path, making them more dangerous.
But dangerous though it was, he smiled.
"Hehe, indeed, this is really dangerous. If I hadn’t prepared sothing, I might have to use one of my biggest trump cards." His voice rang out at that mont, reaching the ears of the attackers as if they were in slow motion.
’¿What?’ They thought.
At that mont, the ground beneath them began to turn to ice, back and forth. The replicator frowned. ’Ice without using an ability?’ Although he was confused, if Matthew didn’t get out of Frozen Ti, then they would win.
No matter if that guy had skills capable of escaping their perception when the necessary ti passed, they would win.
And despite everyone knowing this, Matthew’s voice continued to ring out.
"Controlling ti is a tricky thing too. I was wondering if I could really do it that well. I had to use it against so humans a while ago, and it didn’t go as well as I wanted. Will I be able to do better? Honestly, I didn’t expect there to be so much improvent just by reaching the first level of Control."
As he spoke, the seconds ticked by, but the attack on him didn’t co. Matthew smiled then.
"Why don’t you try so? The true apex of Freeze Ti. The top point of the mountain." After saying this, he raised his arm a little and let it drop.
At the sa ti, the expansion of the ice beneath them stopped, and many cracks ford all over the ice, breaking it into pieces in a mont. The chunks of ice ascended into the air a little when suddenly they seed to have beco strange mirrors. Each one reflected what was in front of it. At the sa ti, the frozen ti ca to an end.
Matthew was to be pierced by the daggers milliseconds later, but he launched his dinsional movent at an inhuman speed, calculating the exact mont. The daggers only pierced the shadow remnant.
’Disappeared?’ When they thought so, they did not realize the danger they were imrsed in.
Suddenly, a large number of extrely powerful attacks were unleashed upon them. Whether it was L-Ji or L-Je, both received a large number of attacks coming from different sides equally.
And those powerful and extrely fast daggers that failed to pierce the target flew at great speed towards those strange mirrors. Although breaking them was perhaps the only thing anyone could think of, the reality was different.
The daggers were suddenly repelled with force towards where the mirrors were pointing. It was as if they had bounced off. So, the pair of twins were soon engulfed by a powerful wave of extrely deadly attacks.
If we rewind in ti, it’s easy to rember that Matthew managed to land blows on them several tis while ti was frozen. And we can even go back a bit further, at the ti the fight started, their attacks didn’t do the expected damage, and these guys don’t specialize in defense, so the weird thing there is that Matthew was trying to freeze their attacks in ti.
Those dozens of attacks that did not hit the mage earlier were not because he had dodged them. It’s because they were frozen in ti, waiting for the mont to be unleashed with deadly fury.
Based on the mirrors...
Matthew, watching from one of the nearby buildings with so blood on his mouth, smiled.
"Using Frozen Ti in my presence is ridiculous. I am the controller of Ice; how dare you do sothing so foolish?"
"Frozen Ti is an ability that leaves frozen residue. After all, this skill ’Freezes’ ti; to do so, the ice expands everywhere. All that ice is not erased out of nowhere. Once it is deactivated, it becos almost imperceptible residue.
The fact that you used the ability three tis creates so many opportunities for to use those residues and freeze attacks on them that I think, if you survive this, you will deserve my admiration." He said softly, revealing what was going on down there. No one was listening to him, naturally. He was talking to himself.

He was very curious: Will they manage to survive? Will they finally use those strange waves? Or will they just die?
