"The gaokao results are out?!"

Upon hearing this, Lin Tian imdiately checked the date.

July 4th.

It really is the day the gaokao results are released!

Lin Tian sprang up from the sofa, sitting upright.

He had been so busy with the Dragon Violin Cup these past days that he almost forgot his main duty!

As a high school student, forgetting the results day is really sothing.

But fortunately, Lin Tian wasn’t alone.

There was another equally silly girl with him.

Lin Tian put down his phone and planned to find Gan Yanyu first.

However, Xu Yong’s dissatisfied voice soon ca from the other end of the phone:

"Hey, hey, hey, you just so glamorously ignored , right?!"

"What’s up, is there anything you haven’t said yet?"

"What I haven’t said..."

Xu Yong was infuriated,

"Aren’t you curious about how many points I got?? I called specifically to ask you!"

Just thinking about this made Xu Yong feel heartbroken.

He specifically called to ask his buddy’s score, but the guy was only thinking about won!

"Sorry, sorry, I have faith in you."

Lin Tian rarely showed Xu Yong any apology, scratched his head, and asked,

"So, how many points did you get?"

"Guess."

The range of gaokao scores was too broad; Lin Tian couldn’t guess it imdiately.

So he tentatively asked:

"Starting with 3?"

"How the hell would I be starting with 3??"

"Could it be 2?!" Lin Tian was alard.

"Damn it, are you worried that I won’t get into a university?!"

Xu Yong cursed loudly,

"Stepping on the answer sheet would get more than 200, wouldn’t it?"

"Sorry, sorry, I don’t really have a concept of scores below 500..."

"Would you die if you didn’t show off?"

"Oh, I rember you wanted to apply to Chuandu University."

Lin Tian finally recalled that Xu Yong had spoken seriously to him about it before.

Xu Yong really liked the city of Chuandu, and he had always been very interested in animation.

So, a long ti ago, Xu Yong had talked to him about wanting to apply to Chuandu University.

"Let tell you—"

Xu Yong paused, then said,

"534."

"Nice!"

Lin Tian exclaid with surprise,

"Did you make it to the first-tier line?"

"Just barely touched the edge."

Xu Yong said proudly.

"No wonder you couldn’t wait to report to ." Lin Tian was genuinely happy for Xu Yong,

"I rember you used to score starting with 3 or 2..."

"I’ve never had a score starting with 2—do you even know what a score starting with 2 ans?!"

Xu Yong gave Lin Tian a huge middle finger over the screen,

"Even when I did bad, I didn’t total just 200 points for six subjects, right?"

In a short ten-minute call, Xu Yong didn’t expect to curse so much.

He was in a good mood to report the good news to his good buddy, but Lin Tian’s words were as inconsiderate as ever.

Even though he was already a nationally renowned musician, if fans knew how abstract his private conversations were, that’d be sothing else!

"Just joking, just joking."

Lin Tian chuckled,

"But seriously, I didn’t expect it; you’ve improved a lot."

In Lin Tian’s impression, Xu Yong’s high school life had always been lax—perhaps because his family was famous for their seafood business.

He was the kind of person who would say he didn’t want to sell seafood with his dad in the future and wanted to pave his path, discussing dreams and freedom with Lin Tian during night self-study.

But in reality, he didn’t make any changes.

For three years in high school, he spent at least two and a half years dazed, with grades hovering between technical college and private second-rate schools.

After being away from high school for a while, Lin Tian didn’t know that Xu Yong had made such big strides.

Even though Lin Tian’s grades were good, he could empathize—534 points was really a significant accomplishnt for Xu Yong during his student years.

"Heck, of course."

When talking about this topic, Xu Yong’s tone unintentionally beca sad,

"You know... how I spent those last six months alone in school..."

Every ti he brought up this matter,

Xu Yong couldn’t help but feel heartbroken.

Whenever he was in the classroom writing hard, overwheld by the mountain of senior high school questions,

he’d open his phone to see news of Lin Tian performing in so concert hall or even traveling to Japan, where Xu Yong dread of visiting after graduation...

Imagine anyone,

having such a desk mate.

How demotivating it was!

Already feeling like an orphan sitting alone in the classroom, then seeing his good buddy flying globally, and even classmates were talking about his legendary stories...

Who wouldn’t be frustrated!

Luckily, Lin Tian wasn’t materialistic.

If he were driving a Rolls-Royce Phantom and had a thousand-square-ter villa in Qingzhou City’s center,

Xu Yong might feel life was worse than death.

But, during that ti...

"I figured out a lot."

Xu Yong sighed, then smiled,

"Life is ultimately yours; even if it’s not as good as others’, you have to strive for your goals..."

In a way,

Xu Yong really needed to thank Lin Tian.

If it weren’t for that last half-year watching Lin Tian continuously soar in his career,

Xu Yong wouldn’t have realized this so quickly, faced his dreams and path so soon.

As students, many tis, it’s only when you step into society that you understand what you truly want.

Thanks to Lin Tian,
