January 14th.

Today is a special day.

Wang Ming, who usually sleeps until noon on weekends, got up early at 6 a.m. today.

The young man put on his clothes, grabbed a piece of bread in his mouth, and headed out the door.

He was headed for—the only physical CD store in town.

Today, his Grandpa Tong Tai gave him a strict order.

No matter what, he had to get that item back!

Originally, it was he who started watching it first.

But in the end, Grandpa beca even more obsessed than him, not only constantly babbling about the tunes at ho but also flipping his quilt early in the morning, forcing him out of bed in less than 10-degree weather in the south.

Of course, he himself was also looking forward to it and had planned early for a long ti.

But what Wang Ming didn’t understand was...

"It’s just buying a CD... why do I need to get up at 6 o’clock..."

Wang Ming breathed out cold air while complaining.

But when he arrived at his destination, he was imdiately stunned by the scene before him.

In the cold wind, in front of the small CD store, a line several tens of ters long had ford, occupying the entire street!

At a glance, the crowd looked tiny, like caterpillars.

He quickly stopped one of the pedestrians in the middle of the queue,

"Hey...Hello?! Brother, may I ask what you all are here to buy today?"

"Ah?"

The person was initially startled, then showed a knowing smile,

"Of course, it’s the new album from Moonlight and Cat!"

"That many people, all for that??"

"Of course."

The pedestrian asked back, "What are you here for then?"

"I’m also here to buy the new album of Moonlight and Cat..."

"Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!"

As soon as he said this, everyone around laughed.

The air was filled with a cheerful atmosphere.

They looked at him as if he were a fool:

"Seriously, you? Coming at this ti, you must not have woken up yet."

"Get in line honestly at the back, all of us ca before dawn at four, and by then, there was already a line of twenty to thirty ters long. I heard that so even slept in front of the store last night... This is Moonlight and Cat’s album—you’re too naive!!"

Suddenly, Wang Ming was so embarrassed, it felt like his sky had fallen.

He quickly sprinted to the end of the line and started queueing.

As the store owner arrived leisurely on his motorcycle, dangling a large cigarette, the entire queue beca excited.

Under the gaze of greeting a hero, the owner lifted the roll-up door and opened the main gate.

Finally, the queue started moving!

One by one, people entered the store, and then walked out with bags, looking completely pleased with themselves.

People at the back of the line stretched their necks forward, showing curious and excited expressions...

As a man holding an album passed by Wang Ming’s side, the young man imdiately widened his eyes.

In his arms...

There was the album cover featuring half-body photos of Mr. Moonlight and Miss Cat!

This... this cover is too cool!!

Wang Ming’s emotions started to get pumped up.

He nervously held onto his phone, continuously muttering in his mind.

"1...2...3..."

As one person after another walked out of the store holding a CD, the queue also beca shorter and shorter.

Wang Ming almost kept making the sign of the cross on his chest, starting to pray.

Please, please!

Stock up more...

...

Like this, from 8 a.m., he queued until 11 a.m.

Watching the guy two spots ahead of him take away ten albums in one go, using a full supermarket shopping bag to carry them away... As he left, he had a ridiculously smug smile on his face.

Wang Ming’s emotions reached a breaking point.

Finally, it was the girl in front of him’s turn, she suddenly raised her hand at the counter,

"Boss... a ’Rainy Day Wet’ please!"

"Sorry, it’s sold out today, co back another day."

The boss said sowhat helplessly while blowing a ring of smoke.

Instantly, the queue behind erupted in frustrated sighs.

So cursed, so were downhearted, and so scread on the spot.

Wang Ming quickly squeezed to the front,

"Then boss... when will there be more stock?"

"Stock? This week’s are all sold out! If you still want it, try looking in the city, but I reckon those are almost sold out too."

Hearing this, Wang Ming fell into complete despair.

After leaving the shop, Wang Ming encountered a boy.

He sat on a bench at the street corner, happily examining his newly purchased album.

Then, he took out... an old-style laptop from his backpack, directly inserting the CD into the drive!

The boy sat there on the bench, put on the headphones, and started listening to music while looking at the computer.

He occasionally nodded and shook his head, showing a look of enjoynt, and then suddenly burst out laughing.

The laughter made everyone itch with irritation.

Not very harmful, but extrely insulting!

People imdiately crowded around, showing extrely annoyed expressions.

"Stupid kid! You don’t understand shit about Moonlight and Cat! Let big brother help you listen!"

"Can a kid who hasn’t even finished middle school understand anything? Can you understand classical music?"

Suddenly, a crowd, represented by Wang Ming, squeezed next to the boy, unplugged his earphones plugged into the computer, and switched to speaker mode.

A miraculous scene appeared.

At midday, a large group of adults gathered behind a child at the side of the street, blocking it completely, the crowd occasionally bursting into cheers and laughter... Scaring passersby into running away, making them think so sinister ritual was taking place.
