As long as Ethan Lancaster was alive, he could use his power and influence to force them back at every turn. Even though Raina Reddington had returned, he could make her life a living hell.

Ethan Lancaster suddenly stopped in his tracks. He turned, but didn’t see Ian Sinclair; he only saw Raina Reddington’s expression.

Her expression was strange, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on why.

Soone shoved Ethan Lancaster’s shoulder, imdiately followed by Seth Sinclair’s panicked voice. "Fourth Master, look out—"

The bronze statue in Ian Sinclair’s hand smashed down hard on Seth Sinclair’s shoulder. Although Seth didn’t cry out, the look on his face said it all.

Ethan Lancaster kicked Ian Sinclair to the ground. The bronze statue flew from Ian’s grasp as bodyguards from behind quickly pinned him down. Raina Reddington’s mind went blank, and she swiftly bent over to pick up the statue from the floor.

"Fourth Master, I’m fine," Seth Sinclair said, clutching his shoulder, his face pale.

Ethan Lancaster’s expression, however, grew increasingly grim. Ian Sinclair only felt regret. ’If that blow had just landed on Ethan’s head, it would’ve been worth trading my life for his. What a pity... Now it’ll probably be hard to get away.’

"You’re courting death!" Ethan Lancaster pulled Seth Sinclair behind him, his body radiating a murderous aura. Just as he was about to lash out, he saw Raina Reddington rush over, aiming the bronze statue in her hands right at him.

The man couldn’t quite believe it, but recalling the scene from monts before, a look of distinct pain filled his eyes. "You want to die?"

Raina Reddington’s lips were pressed into a tight line; she said nothing. Ethan Lancaster took a step forward, deliberately pressing his chest against the tip of the bronze statue. "You actually want dead."

"Wouldn’t it be simpler if you were dead? Can’t you tell how sick I am of you constantly pestering ?"

Ethan Lancaster’s gaze went past Raina Reddington. He looked coldly at Ian Sinclair. "You’re barging your way into hell."

Raina Reddington cut in, "So what if he is? Even if he’s going to hell, I can go with him."

She was protecting him with her life. Ethan Lancaster had seen it all, but for the first ti, faced with a scene like this, he felt utterly powerless.

"Go."

Raina Reddington thought she’d misheard and couldn’t help but look up at Ethan Lancaster. Once she realized the word had co from his lips, she turned without a mont’s hesitation, pushed the two bodyguards aside, and pulled Ian Sinclair to his feet. "Let’s go."

Gwen Sharp was still cowering by the doorway. When she saw Raina Reddington co out, she didn’t dare to step forward and question her about the photos.

Raina Reddington helped Ian Sinclair into the passenger seat and fastened his seatbelt for him.

Ethan Lancaster also walked out of the house with Seth Sinclair. Half of Seth’s body was practically immobile. Now that Raina Reddington got a closer look, she could see faint bloodstains on his white shirt.

A driver pulled the car up to the entrance. A bodyguard took Seth Sinclair from Ethan Lancaster and hurried forward.

Raina Reddington quickly got into her car, started the engine, and prepared to leave. "I’m taking you to the hospital."

"No way I’m going. I know my own body—it’s just a flesh wound. No broken bones, no internal injuries. I’m not going to die."

"That’s not how you looked a mont ago."

Ian Sinclair broke into a grin. "Wasn’t I just putting on an act? How else was I supposed to get a chance to strike him?"

Not daring to linger, Raina Reddington quickly drove Ian Sinclair ho. He lay on the living room sofa while Raina gently pressed down along his shoulder.

The man began to wail like a banshee, his voice carrying through the glass of the balcony door. Anyone who didn’t know better would wonder just what the people in this house were doing.

"OW, OW, OW—IT HURTS, IT HURTS!"

"What are you shouting for!" Raina Reddington snapped as she applied dicine. "You’re the one who refused to go to the hospital."

"Hiss," Ian Sinclair sat up on the sofa, wincing in pain. "Well, this ti he’s definitely convinced we’re having an affair."

"If you can’t say sothing decent, then don’t say anything at all."

"Actually, that Fourth Master... he seems to be genuinely into you."

Raina Reddington placed the dicine back on the coffee table. "Is that supposed to be so kind of sick joke?"

"If he didn’t care about you, there’s no way he would have let you leave with today. They all say he’s ruthless, but it seems to he can’t bring himself to be ruthless with you."

Raina Reddington seed to drift off. Ian Sinclair didn’t know about her past, which was the only reason he could say sothing like that.

Ethan Lancaster leaned against a wall in the hospital corridor. You couldn’t smoke here. He was restless and agitated, glancing toward the door from ti to ti.

When a bodyguard brought Seth Sinclair out, his wound had already been bandaged. Ethan Lancaster asked in a low voice, "How is he?"

"The doctor said he needs surgery. It landed right on his clavicle..."

Even the thick, heavy jacket Seth Sinclair was wearing couldn’t block the force of that blow. One could only imagine how much strength was behind it. Thinking back on it now, a chill went down Ethan Lancaster’s spine.

"Fourth Master, I’ll be fine just resting."

Ethan Lancaster shot him a look. "Listen to the doctor. I’ll have soone arrange the surgery for you as soon as possible."

Seth Sinclair was admitted to the hospital for ergency treatnt. As Ethan Lancaster was leaving, he said to Seth, "Seth, I’m honestly a little shaken."

"Fourth Master, the Young Madam surely didn’t notice at the ti."

’Otherwise, she would have definitely shouted a warning to you.’

Ethan Lancaster didn’t say anything. It was normal for others not to understand, but he had read Raina Reddington’s eyes in that mont. She actually hated him so much that she wanted him dead.

Ian Sinclair stubbornly endured the pain and refused to go to the hospital. Although he looked delicate, he had a tough constitution. After lying around like a corpse for a day, he was more or less back on his feet.

When Raina Reddington ca ho from work, she walked straight to the balcony and drew the blackout curtains.

"Is he coming over?" Ian Sinclair asked, sitting down on the sofa.

Raina Reddington gave a soft "yes." "He’s another one who’s nothing but trouble."

A car was parked outside Raina Reddington’s apartnt complex. Gwen Sharp was sitting inside, wearing a hat and a mask.

She had been staking out the place for several days. After Mrs. Sharp had co and caused a scene, she had been hospitalized in a fit of rage and now refused to see her daughter. Gwen Sharp had no choice but to ask her aunt from the countryside to co and help take care of her.

She hadn’t ntioned Miles Hawthorne in front of Ethan Lancaster because she didn’t dare. Besides, other than herself, no one else had seen him. If Raina Reddington were to deny it and turn the accusation back on her, Ethan certainly wouldn’t believe her right now.

Gwen Sharp refused to believe that with Raina Reddington here, Miles Hawthorne could resist showing up forever.

Her eyes were sore from staring so intently. She couldn’t help but rub them. When she looked up again, Gwen Sharp saw a man wrapped in a large trench coat walk up to the entrance of the apartnt building.

He glanced cautiously from side to side. Although he was wearing sunglasses, Gwen Sharp recognized him from his profile alone.

She had actually managed to catch him. It was Miles Hawthorne.

Gwen Sharp was instantly energized, but by the ti she raised her phone to take a picture, Miles Hawthorne had already slipped inside.

She didn’t dare to risk startling him, and her heart was a ss of contradictions. Judging by how Raina Reddington had stord into The Verdant Garden to retrieve Ian Sinclair, the two of them were definitely close. And since Ian was living with Raina, where did that leave Miles Hawthorne?

If Ethan Lancaster found out Miles Hawthorne was still alive, life would surely beco difficult for both him and Raina Reddington.

What Gwen Sharp feared most was Raina Reddington telling Ethan Lancaster that she was the one who had leaked the news about him stealing the bone marrow all those years ago.

But if Ethan Lancaster really did catch Raina Reddington and Miles Hawthorne together, she could insist that Raina was only framing her out of revenge. After all, Caron Fairchild had cleaned up most of the ss from back then so thoroughly that there shouldn’t be any substantial evidence left to find.

Gwen Sharp decided to take the risk. She took out her phone and, without a mont’s hesitation, dialed Ethan Lancaster’s number.
