Ever since Li Qiang found out that Lu Lin liked Zhou Yuwen, he had given up on pursuing her, but when he overheard in the dorm that Zhou Yuwen and Shen Yu were going to sing a duet together, Li Qiang couldn’t help but worry for Lu Lin. There were so many girls chasing after Zhou Yuwen; could she succeed?

Li Qiang found Lu Lin’s profile picture on WeChat and clicked on it. Logically, he should have been more ruthless, just delete Lu Lin and then treat each other as strangers.

That’s what Li Qiang thought on several evenings.

Only Li Qiang just couldn’t bring himself to actually do it.

He could only choose to clear the chat history with Lu Lin, in an attempt to erase his own past humbleness.

Obviously, this wasn’t very effective.

After opening Lu Lin’s chat window for a long ti, Li Qiang finally couldn’t resist and typed a ssage, "Shen Yu ca to look for Zhou today, seems she’s going to sing a duet with him for the military training performance."

Li Qiang wasn’t wrong in his judgnt; Shen Yu hadn’t publicized this matter in the dorm, and when Lu Lin received the ssage, she was stunned at first, then quickly understood Li Qiang’s intention.

But it was sowhat laughable.

Was this his way of giving her a heads-up?

"Thanks,"

"You’re welco."

Li Qiang had matured a lot and didn’t pester Lu Lin anymore, but seeing her reply of ’Thanks’, Li Qiang’s heart still couldn’t help but flutter a bit.

If he couldn’t have her, he should at least help her in other areas, right?

In truth, Lu Lin didn’t care who sang with Zhou Yuwen. She couldn’t really say she liked him, she just didn’t dislike him. When they first t, Li Qiang told Lu Lin that Zhou Yuwen was involved with the underworld.

After that, Lu Lin read about Zhou Yuwen on the forums too, like how he frightened a junior with his crew at a BBQ stall so much that the guy peed his pants, and there were pictures as proof.

At that ti, Zhou Yuwen was surrounded by a group of burly students, and he really had a bit of a gangster vibe.

Lu Lin didn’t know if it was true or false, but she felt that Zhou Yuwen was very impressive, and out of sheer impulse, she had said sothing to him.

The two thousand yuan, Lu Lin would return it to Zhou Yuwen once she started earning money.

Of course, if Zhou Yuwen wanted to use another thod to repay the money, Lu Lin wouldn’t object either.

In the dorm, every girl had her own things to do.

For example, Su Qing was highly valued by the counselor and was now tasked with managing various matters, while Zheng Yanyan was primping in front of the mirror as she changed clothes.

Shen Yu had just co back from outside.

Zheng Yanyan asked Shen Yu where she had been.

Shen Yu smiled and said, no, just out for a walk.

Zheng Yanyan asked, "You didn’t sneak off to et with Zhou Yuwen, did you?"

Su Qing looked up at Shen Yu.

Shen Yu’s pretty face flushed and she retorted, "How could that be possible."

Su Qing, after all, had been reborn. Even though she wanted to reconnect with Zhou Yuwen, the current situation clearly made it impossible, and she and Zhou Yuwen had agreed to not date in college. So, apart from feeling a bit anxious at the beginning of school, Su Qing remained rather calm at other tis.

No matter how Zheng Yanyan and Shen Yu fought over it, Su Qing could focus on her own matters.

Let the noise be, for I pursue my own freedom.

Zheng Yanyan laughed and said, we have an agreent then, we three will compete fairly, no cheating allowed!

"Boring."

Su Qing who was working on a spreadsheet, simply comnted emotionlessly.

Shen Yu also appeared indifferent, "If you like Zhou Yuwen so much, go after him. I don’t mind."

"Hey, why are you all like this? With this attitude, I’ve lost my fighting spirit, you know?"

Zheng Yanyan had originally wanted to stand out amidst the competition, but seeing Shen Yu and Su Qing’s attitudes, she suddenly felt sowhat less interested.

While the dorm was noisy, Lu Lin still preferred to be alone on the balcony. The distant sunset was setting, a fiery red that stained the playground.

Lu Lin leaned on the railing, watching the sunset in the distance, and the passing boys and girls below.

The day passed just like that, and the next afternoon, there was a grand parade that marked the end of the military training. The second platoon, class four, won a second-place prize.

After the parade finished, it essentially signified the end of the military training. From that mont, there was no distinction between instructors and students anymore.

When everyone gathered on the playground for the bonfire party in the evening, the instructors and students mingled even more, chatting and dancing together, with many students joking around with the instructors.

Originally, everyone was just so happy that they lifted the instructors high.

Then soone shouted, "Aruba! Aruba!"

This startled the instructors, who fell from the crowd, rolling and scrambling, "Who said Aruba!?"

A group of students held back their laughter, not daring to say anything.

The bonfire party was organized by class, which ant that boys and girls who hadn’t mixed much for a month were together again.

"Class leader, long ti no see," Gu Yaoyao looked sowhat thin in her military outfit, but her skin remained as pale as always, and her double eyelids looked particularly attractive under the glow of the bonfire.

"In a few days, I won’t be class leader anymore," Zhou Yuwen said.

"Why is that?"

"Look."

Zhou Yuwen gestured for Gu Yaoyao to look ahead, where a few students were chasing Chang Hao and shouting Aruba.

During the month of military training, Chang Hao indeed got along very well with several classmates and was truly suited for the role of class leader.

Gu Yaoyao, laughing at the scene, said, "Don’t sell yourself short, class leader. After all, the benefits you’ve brought us are tangible."

Zhou Yuwen glanced at Gu Yaoyao and asked with amusent, "Does that count as a bribe then?"

"Seems like it," Gu Yaoyao smiled with pursed lips.

Amidst the clamor, Chang Hao ultimately couldn’t escape the fate of being Aruba-ed. There was no pillar to be found on the playground, but there stood a thick grey steel light post.

Li Qiang, holding one of Chang Hao’s legs, said with a chuckle, "Let’s go, over there!"

"Damn, cut it out! Let down now!"

Chang Hao struggled on the other side, his face however wore a smile, he wasn’t really angry, after all, his classmates wanting to play with him showed he had a solid base of popularity among them.

In the past few days, Chang Hao had indeed basked in success, his class, the second platoon’s class four, won second place that afternoon, and as the class monitor, Chang Hao was the one to represent the class and accept the award onstage.

Moreover, Chang Hao’s military training score was an A-plus, and he even received a dal that afternoon, reveling in unrivaled glory, making him feel a bit sorry for poor old Zhou.

After the military training ended, there was no doubt the role of class monitor would go to Chang Hao.

This was beyond question, as Zhou Yuwen had sneaked burgers into the camp and although it wasn’t reported to the school, the instructors were surely aware, having spoken with Zhou Yuwen about it.

Zhou Yuwen didn’t seem to mind.

Instead, it made Zheng Yanyan feel sowhat guilty toward Zhou Yuwen, saying it was because of her that he lost the position of class monitor.

"Otherwise, should I have Chang Hao give the position of class monitor back to you?" Zheng Yanyan naively asked Zhou Yuwen online.

"Don’t bother."

Zheng Yanyan wasn’t too foolish; she had already troubled Zhou Yuwen once, and hadn’t directly told Chang Hao that she liked Zhou Yuwen.

If Chang Hao truly found out about this, she estimated he would go insane.

Zheng Yanyan had already told Zhou Yuwen that she wanted to have a secret romance with him.

"How about we date in secret, keeping it from everyone else?"

Zhou Yuwen didn’t respond to this topic, and Zheng Yanyan didn’t know whether he agreed or not.

"Aruba! Aruba!"

The one holding Chang Hao’s left leg was Li Qiang, while sitting on his right leg was Jiang Chao.

No matter how Chang Hao struggled, it was futile.

Later, Chang Hao gave up struggling, thinking to himself, just take it as it is, anyway, this thing doesn’t hurt.

Aruba, if soone isn’t really into it, indeed does not hurt.

What he underestimated was Li Qiang’s vengefulness and the equally disapproving Jiang Chao on his right leg, damn it, the pretentious jerk from the Capital city, useless at everything but number one in showing off!

He and Li Qiang exchanged looks and then, "Oh~"

Holding Chang Hao’s legs, they suddenly swung from both sides of the lamp post.

Chang Hao, who’d been smiling a second ago, suddenly felt a sharp pain below, and let out a whine.

The crowd holding him dispersed imdiately.

Chang Hao, anwhile, clasped his privates tightly, unable to draw breath, his neck red as his face, veins subtly erging as he rolled on the rubber track.

For a long while, he was hamring the ground, floundering.

The others who had been frolicking when they saw this scene were terrified, "No way! Brother Hao! Don’t scare us!"

Fortunately, it was nothing serious, but it truly hurt.

"Li Qiang, fuck your grandma!"

Having barely stood up, Chang Hao’s first words were to curse at Li Qiang, who, seeing things had taken a wrong turn, quickly made his escape, exclaiming as he ran that it wasn’t Brother Hao.

"Jiang Chao did it! It wasn’t !"

"Like hell it wasn’t!"

The bonfire party kept up the ruckus for a good while until eight o’clock, when the performance began. This military training gala was composed of both instructors and students, starting with a dance by the instructors, which consisted of a group of strong, muscular instructors drumming and dancing on stage, showcasing a raw, masculine beauty.

Many sophomores and juniors also watched from the edge of the field.

The instructors churned out a number of acts, ranging from group dances to individual talent shows, which included harmonica and guitar performances.

Once the instructors were done, it was ti for the students to perform.

The first act was a duet dance by Zheng Yanyan and Lu Lin, for which Zheng Yanyan had prepared for a long ti, rehearsing every night and even striking poses in her outfit to show Zhou Yuwen.

When Zhou Yuwen asked what dance they were rehearsing, Zheng Yanyan didn’t tell him, saying it was a secret.

"You’ll see when the ti cos, don’t forget to record a video for !"

At this point, Zheng Yanyan and Lu Lin had already taken the stage.

Zheng Yanyan was dressed in a pink hoodie matched with a white pleated skirt, with a pair of straight, shapely long legs in white tube socks that, alone, drew plenty of attention.

"Damn, who’s that girl?"

"She’s the one who was dancing a few days ago!"

"Ah, I know her!"

Compared to Zheng Yanyan, Lu Lin was dressed no less eye-catching, with a baggy casual blazer on top and a black tube top underneath, showing off her toned midriff.

She wore a leather mini-skirt and black over-the-knee boots below, showing her legs for the first ti, even if just a section of her thighs, but they seed to be finer and whiter than Zheng Yanyan’s, perhaps because they were often concealed beneath jeans.

Both of them were of similar height, Lu Lin wore boots, while Zheng Yanyan wore red-bottod high heels. Two such beauties standing on stage ant that whatever dance they perford had beco secondary.

Yet when the music for the dance began to play, people hadn’t even seen them start dancing but were already getting excited. The dance they perford was the then popular Peninsula dance step "Trouble Maker."

The song was originally a duet for a man and woman but here, Lu Lin perford the male part, while Zheng Yanyan took on the female section.

At the start, they danced separately, each standing to one side.

With the spotlight on them, they began to dance.

As ntioned before, the actual dance moves were not so important, their outfits were enough to get pulses racing.

Zheng Yanyan swayed her hips, bent her waist, every move full of allure.

Later on, with a beat of the music, Lu Lin dramatically pulled Zheng Yanyan close, catching her around the waist.

And Zheng Yanyan tenderly cupped Lu Lin’s face in return.

[Describing this dance is too difficult, I’ll just post a video instead]
