He was just a second-rate businessman.
If she were with a parvenu, she would be the laughingstock of her socialite friends.
So she chose to run away.
She said, "No, please don’t push anymore!"
And her husband, not forcing her, shouted at Daisy, "Baby, trust that you’ll make the right choice!"
But Gatsby furrowed his brow, "You don’t even know what love is!"
Having said that, he ran out.
He was extrely worried about his goddess.
Daisy said, "My head is all in a muddle now."
She wanted to drive!
Gatsby said, "Of course, do you rember my limited edition sports car?"
So Daisy, in a hazy state, drove Gatsby’s limited edition sports car, enjoying the speed and passion.
Only during the drive, suddenly a figure darted past!
Daisy hit soone.
Gatsby told Daisy, "Don’t say anything! Just say it was who hit them!"
"Tomorrow, co find , we’ll leave New York! We’ll go sowhere where nobody knows us."
The person Daisy killed was the chanic’s wife.
The chanic was devastated; it was too dark that night, and he couldn’t see who killed his wife.
But Tom knew it was Gatsby’s car.
So he told the chanic.
"Gatsby killed your wife!"
"That’s right, your wife cheated on you! And her lover was Gatsby!"
"You should make that howrecker pay!"
That day, Gatsby waited for Daisy in his own swimming pool.
He felt that after exposing Tom’s true face, Daisy would fly far away with him.
However, he waited for nothing.
In the cinema, Chang Hao was distracted, the fras in the movie flew by before his eyes, but all Chang Hao could think about was whether to tell Zheng Yanyan about this matter.
Until the sound of a gunshot!
The whole cinema went dark.
Gatsby was dead.
Chang Hao snapped back to consciousness!
"Those howreckers! They all should pay the price!" Tom’s voice was through clenched teeth.
In the end, Gatsby got nothing.
After his death, all the bla fell on him: a bootlegger from the South, with a huge amount of dubious wealth, seducing soone’s wife, wrecking a marriage, and finally shot dead.
Even in death, there was no one to mourn him!
That was Gatsby.
The lights in the cinema ca back on.
The suppressed emotions vanished, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
The movie’s early parts were long and dull, few people could stick it out, but the confrontation in the final act was truly brilliant, with everyone at loggerheads.
Gatsby’s only belief was that Daisy had feelings for him!
Only too bad, the woman he loved, did not love him back.
"Even if Daisy knew about her husband’s infidelity, she wouldn’t divorce him, Gatsby is just a pathetic sucker," one student comnted.
"Exactly, I really don’t understand these losers, why do they always think, as if soone has a chance right after they break up with their boyfriend!"
Another student comnted.
For a while, Chang Hao fell into silence, then he turned to look at Zhou Yuwen and Zheng Yanyan in the front row again.
Yanyan lazily stretched and said she was finally done watching, so tired.
Zhou Yuwen asked, "How can you be tired from watching a movie?"
"I don’t know, honey carry ," Yanyan whined, wanting to cling onto Zhou Yuwen like a koala.
Zhou Yuwen said, "Stop ssing around."
But Yanyan insisted she couldn’t walk anymore. Continue your adventure with .Côm
Zhou Yuwen, patting Yanyan’s head, said, "You’re no easier to carry like this."
And so he left the cinema with Yanyan.
It was only four-thirty in the afternoon, and it wasn’t even dark yet.
Coming out from the dark cinema, their eyes struggled to adjust.
Yanyan’s plan was to go straight to dinner after the movie.
Zhou Yuwen said, "You ate so much during the movie, and now you’re thinking of dinner, aren’t you afraid of getting fat?"
Yanyan asked, "Would you still want if I got fat?"
"Definitely not," he replied.
"Hmph~ Lu Lin, look, he’s bullying again," Yanyan complained unhappily, hugging Lu Lin outside the cinema.
Lu Lin rolled her eyes.
Chang Hao ca out and saw them, saying nothing.
Later, Zhou Yuwen ntioned he had to return to his courier station for work.
"Just let Lu Lin hang out with you," he suggested.
"What about dinner together tonight?"
"We’ll see."
"It’s so annoying, why are you so busy all the ti?"
"How else am I supposed to make money?"
They chatted briefly and then went their separate ways.
While accompanying Yanyan back to the dorm, Lu Lin was sowhat preoccupied, texting Zhou Yuwen: "Are you okay?"
"?"
"Chang Hao might have figured us out."
"If he has, he has."
"Aren’t you afraid that he’ll tell Yanyan?"
"What can I do if he decides to say sothing?"
"You aren’t worried?"
"I’m not sure, don’t worry too much, Yanyan might not even believe him," Zhou Yuwen honestly said, as he didn’t see the issue as that serious.
Putting aside whether Yanyan would believe Chang Hao or not.
If she would believe him just on his word, without any proof.
Then what’s the point in continually talking, don’t we have any trust at all?
So Zhou Yuwen didn’t make much of it.
At that mont, Lu Lin felt a bit guilty, as if she had added trouble for Zhou Yuwen.
After a while, she texted: I’m sorry.
Zhou Yuwen replied: Now you realize your mistake? Weren’t you acting bold just now? Sticking out your tongue?
Lu Lin:...
Zhou Yuwen patted Lu Lin.
It was already the latter stages of Singles’ Day, especially the two days after Singles’ Day, the courier station was overwheld with packages, and Zhou Yuwen was busy until after six in the evening.
