Maitreya could not help but reveal a smile, but then quickly humbly said: "Mahasthamaprapta, Pharmacist, they all possess considerable talent."
"They’re far from your equal!"
"Then look at the cultivation, cultivation is about observing one’s nature, not rejoicing in external gains nor grieving for personal losses. When Mount Tai collapses before one’s eyes, they are not able to keep their composure, in this regard they are not as good as you.
Mahasthamaprapta would only yell and shout, Pharmacist only knows how to sympathize with the heaven and pity others, Lu Ya is full of grudges, and Ksitigarbha is even worse, in the Underworld he resents heaven and blas others.
Among these Buddhist disciples, only you, Maitreya, have the capacity to tolerate the intolerable in the world; when you open your mouth, you laugh at the laughable people of the world, your nature is transcendent and saintly."
Maitreya’s smile grew even more evident, holding his belly, he shook his head and said: "In a lifeti, one should accommodate all disagreeable matters. To face life with a smile is the embodint of Buddha’s magnanimity and compassion."
Bai Jin clasped his hands in praise and said: "Good nature, good cultivation!
Then again, look at their apprenticeship, you, Pharmacist, Mahasthamaprapta, Ksitigarbha, all have deep and comparable apprenticeships.
Lu Ya is the Devil Race Crown Prince, with an ambiguous identity. If he becos the leader of Buddhism, would not Buddhism turn into a Demon Sect? Therefore, Lu Ya is once again excluded."
"Next, let’s look at cultivation!"
"Master, in terms of cultivation, I cannot compare with them."
"But you are the newest among us, they have spent hundreds of millions of years in arduous cultivation to reach the Daluo Realm, yet you have reached the Daluo Limit in a very short ti. From this, it’s evident, Maitreya, that you have the highest potential among Buddhist disciples.
To sum up, Maitreya, who else but you for the position of Buddha?"
Maitreya’s face showed an undisguisable joy, as he endeavored to maintain his rationality, and humbly said: "The position of Buddha still needs the Master’s blessing, the disciple neither craves nor seeks it."
Bai Jin solemnly advised: "Maitreya, in the Sealing God Battle you led Buddhism, indicating that before the two Saints of Buddhism, your status was far above Ksitigarbha and the others. At such a critical juncture, you should not be modest, but should take the initiative to step forward, brave the great responsibility, and lead Buddhism to bring blessings to the Primordial World."
Maitreya Buddha joined his hands together, a smile on his face as he said: "The choice of the Master is the most fitting."
Bai Jin gave a slight smile, knowing that Maitreya was moved, and said: "Maitreya, from now on, the future of Buddhism and the Primordial World will rest on you."
Maitreya Buddha joined his hands together, chanting a Buddha na: "Amitabha Buddha~ My Buddha’s compassion, universally delivers all beings from suffering, be it a blade of grass, a worm, or an ant, all can beco Buddha."
Bai Jin said with admiration: "What a grand vow! With such aspirations, you ought to beco the Buddha."
Maitreya smiled as he looked at Bai Jin, and Bai Jin also looked at Maitreya.
Finally, Maitreya was the first one who couldn’t help but say: "Master, I lack the experience to manage a sect, please do not withhold your advice."
"Haha~ Naturally, now that you call Master, I will withhold nothing and spare no words."
Maitreya joined his hands together in thanks and said: "Many thanks, Master!"
Bai Jin said gently: "Maitreya, the Saint’s appointnt should co soon, be well prepared!
Oh, and rember not to spread this matter. I have a deep relationship with the two Saints of Buddhism, and I fear your brethren might suspect it was I who sought the Buddha’s position for you and hence harbor ill feelings."
Maitreya Buddha said confidently: "Master, be at ease, I will certainly not spread the word."
He then asked: "Master, have you co to remind without seeking anything?"
Bai Jin spoke somberly: "Not to conceal from you, Buddha, in days past during the Divine Enthronent Battle, thousands of Jie Sect disciples were converted by the Western Saints. Should you, Fellow Daoist, beco the Buddha in the future, I ask that you please take good care of them."
"Is it only for the sake of the forr Jie Sect disciples?"
"Of course!"
"Nothing else you desire?"
"Nothing else!"
Maitreya Buddha steadied his heart and smiled, saying: "Emperor, I cannot presu to take on the title of Buddha."
Bai Jin chuckled and said: "It’s just a matter of ti!"
Maitreya assured him: "Rest assured, Emperor, in the future I will treat all Buddhist Disciples with equal kindness."
Bai Jin said with relief: "In that case, I can rest easy too. I leave the future of Buddhism and the Primordial World in your hands.
You must rember, Golden Core Relics are rooted in benevolence and righteousness; the Buddhist path and the Dao originally stem from the sa source, we are always your staunchest support. Sotis, taking one step forward can lead you into a completely different Heaven and Earth, and opportunities are only given to those who dare to struggle."
Maitreya Buddha pondered, brought his hands together, bowed, and said: "Thank you for your teachings, elder brother."
Bai Jin did not dare to be overly proud and returned the bow before turning to leave.
Maitreya Buddha stood up, reached out to pick a flower petal, and with a smile to himself, said: "When I beco a Buddha, all beings of the heavens will abandon the evil paths and not follow wicked ntors."
...
Elsewhere, Bai Jin silently entered a palace.
Shen Gongbao was wandering through a banquet, inconspicuously approaching dicine Buddha.
Soon after, dicine Buddha turned and left the banquet to enter the palace too.
Inside the grand hall, dicine Buddha bowed and said: "Greetings, Emperor! May I ask why you have summoned ?"
Bai Jin walked over, sighed, and spoke with emotion: "The grandeur of a blooming era cannot escape the falling leaves. Yet the fallen petals are not heartless; they beco the nurturing soil of spring. That Buddhism can thrive brings joy on your behalf."
dicine Buddha slightly furrowed his brows and asked with suspicion: "Emperor, what do you an by telling these things?"
A thought flashed through Bai Jin’s mind; this Pharmacist is not following the script! No, he must be guided back onto the correct path.
Bai Jin smiled and said: "The Jie Sect is destroyed, Buddhism rises; this is a cycle of the Heavenly Dao. As the Outer Disciple Leader of Jie Sect, naturally, I co to offer my congratulations and complete this transition."
dicine Buddha brought his hands together, bowed his head, and said: "Thank you, Emperor! But our Buddhism has already detached itself from the Mysterious Sect, we cannot accept your congratulations."
Finally getting back on track, Bai Jin coughed and said with emotion: "My Jie Sect advocates education for all, with love for all living beings. Whether it be Buddhism or the Mysterious Sect, both are great teachings of the Primordial World.
We must set aside narrow views of one sect, one path, and think globally, for the whole of the Primordial World. We should act on four principles that benefit the overall developnt of the Primordial World."
dicine Buddha couldn’t help but ask: "Emperor, what are these four benefits?"
Bai Jin nodded with satisfaction and said: "Very good, asking this question shows you’ve reached an awakening. ... A single flower does not bring spring, but a garden full of blossoms does. Having various Daoist lineages compete for prominence leads the trends, this will guide the Primordial World to grow stronger! Pharmacist, wouldn’t you agree?"
dicine Buddha spoke with admiration: "Emperor, your broad-mindedness and far-sightedness are truly admirable."
Bai Jin said: "Pharmacist, in the future Buddhism will surely be the greatest sect in the Primordial World, you must lead well and not let Buddhism fall into the sa pitfalls as Jie Sect."
dicine Buddha frowned and asked with confusion: "Emperor, what are you really trying to say?"
Bai Jin said with puzzlent: "Do you really not know that the Saints have already left the Primordial World?"
"Of course, I am aware."
