The 7th monkey king was angry as he was silently in seclusion but the current king who is the 8th monkey king awakens every ancestor except the 1st monkey king because sothing happens. The current king explained what happened, so he was angry that he beat him until no one recognized his face.
He also volunteered to lead the troops in the turtle race as he can't swallow what they did to them.
