Chapter 271-Deal with the devil
As Dave, Yudi, and Draco indulged in their peaceful al, an elegant and handso young man approached their table, bowing respectfully before them. Standing tall at six feet, his slim fra gave the impression of weakness.
"Young master, honorable Yudi, my na is Ryan Fexir, the 5th prince of the Fexir Empire," Ryan introduced himself with a tone of reverence. Draco glanced at Ryan but continued devouring his food, while Yudi observed him silently, choosing not to respond.
Despite the lack of acknowledgnt, Ryan maintained a polite smile and patiently waited for them to finish their al. An hour later, as they sat contentedly, Dave turned his attention to Ryan and spoke with a mouth still bearing the remnants of his feast.
"Oh, you're still here? Who are you?" Dave casually wiped his mouth, signaling his curiosity about the young man's presence.
Ryan's smile montarily froze, but he quickly composed himself and amiably reintroduced himself. "My na is Ryan Fexir, the 5th prince of the Fexir Empire," he repeated, ensuring his respect remained evident in his words.
The table remained silent, with everyone continuing to savor their al. Ryan, feeling a tinge of awkwardness, maintained his smile, allowing them the ti to finish their food undisturbed. Once they had satisfied their appetites, Dave's gaze returned to Ryan, indicating his willingness to engage in conversation.
Ryan, grateful for the opportunity, shared his intentions. "I saw you earlier and recognized you as the young master and your esteed companion," he began, gesturing towards Yudi. "As the 5th prince of the Fexir Empire, I wanted to extend my greetings and introduce myself properly."
Dave, intrigued by Ryan's approach, questioned him further. "How did you recognize us?" he inquired, wanting to understand the basis of Ryan's claim.
Unfazed by the inquiry, Ryan responded with confidence. "Young master, it is common knowledge that a handso man with red hair, accompanied by a mighty dragon and a powerful middle-aged man, has been traversing various worlds. When I saw you, I couldn't help but recognize the description. Hence, I seized the opportunity to make your acquaintance."
Dave observed Ryan closely, searching for any signs of deception. After a thorough assessnt, he concluded that Ryan's words held truth. Pleased with the young prince's sincerity, Dave smiled and probed further.
"And what other motives do you have in approaching us?" he questioned, knowing that alliances were seldom ford without underlying intentions.
Ryan, taken aback by Dave's perceptiveness, regained his composure and t his gaze. With unwavering confidence, he responded, "Young master, knowing of your affinity for wealth and treasures, I have a proposition to offer—a mutually beneficial deal."
Curiosity ignited within Dave as he leaned in, signaling his interest. "Go on, I'm listening," he urged Ryan to elaborate.
Aware of the need for privacy, Ryan glanced around the restaurant, ensuring no eavesdroppers were present. Sensing his caution, Yudi cast a protective barrier, shielding their conversation from prying ears. With the environnt secured, Ryan took a seat near Draco and began to unveil the details of his world, Ellois World.
"As the ruling family, the Fexir Family governs Ellois World, serving as vassals to the esteed Song Clan—one of the top 10 strongest clans in the Immortal Plane," Ryan explained. "My father, the current emperor, is highly respected for his benevolent rule. However, he has chosen to step back from governance to focus on his cultivation, allowing his five sons an equal opportunity to vie for the throne."
Pausing briefly, Ryan continued, "To determine the next ruler, my father has devised a competition among the five of us. Each prince is permitted to enlist the aid of a single companion to assist them in the competition. Recognizing my own limitations, I seek your assistance, young master, in securing victory. In return, I promise you a substantial sum of 100 billion spirit stones and access to three treasured artifacts from our imperial treasury."
Ryan's voice resonated with a mix of hope and uncertainty, aware that he was placing his only chance in the hands of Dave. He had approached several geniuses in his world, but their rejections stemd from their fear of aligning with the weakest prince and antagonizing the other contenders. Upon encountering Dave, Ryan saw an opportunity, as the young master's true powers remained concealed. Additionally, Dave's reputation as a lover of wealth further enticed him to offer riches as part of their agreent.
Dave, intrigued by the proposal, considered the potential benefits. However, he decided to test the waters, raising the stakes. "I will assist you," he began, a sly grin forming on his face. "But in addition to the spirit stones and treasures, I also request the privilege to enter your sacred spring."
Ryan's face contorted with surprise at the audacity of Dave's demands. The sacred spring had been his sole ambition, as only chosen geniuses were granted the opportunity to bathe in its rejuvenating waters once a year. However, recognizing the determination in Dave's eyes, Ryan reluctantly acquiesced.
"Very well, if I erge victorious and claim the throne, I shall grant you the right to enter the sacred spring," Ryan agreed, his decision marked by a mix of hope and trepidation.
Dave's smile widened, pleased with the outco. Extending his hand, he sealed their agreent. "Happy cooperation," he declared, exuding confidence and anticipation for the forthcoming collaboration.
Ryan, now more at ease, clasped Dave's hand firmly and prepared for the journey ahead. Before delving further into their plans, he posed a final question. "By the way, Young Master, what shall I call you?"
Dave, realizing that his true na remained concealed beneath his infamous moniker, chuckled softly. "Hehe, you can call Dave," he replied, savoring the intrigue and possibilities that lay before them.
