anwhile, in a dense forest filled with demons, just as a group of cultivators was planning on how to escape the encirclent of demons, one of them frowned. The summoned beast beside him let out a low growl, and a faint glow of confusion flickered in its eyes.
"What’s going on?" The young man was imdiately puzzled and turned to the others.
Those with the summoning elent imdiately summoned their aura-tracking demons. The next mont, they too were stunned, seeing the look of confusion on the demons. Everyone’s expression turned unsightly as they realized sothing.
"He has found a way to mask his aura. We can no longer trace him."
The others also lanted bitterly. This was the first ti they had failed a mission against soone of a lower cultivation level! They could imagine how furious the elders would be because of this. After trying countless thods and seeing that there was nothing they could do, they sighed.
"Let’s head back and report back to the organization," one of them suggested.
The others also agreed; however, so of them frowned. Then one young lady, as though she had thought of sothing, spoke up...
"Why don’t we head to the place his aura was last sensed? From there, let’s split up in groups of two and search the surroundings; he couldn’t have gone far."
At her suggestion, the eyes of the others lit up. Another one of them also said, "In that case, we’ll have to use all our trump cards and force our way out, so he won’t go further than he has already gone."
The others nodded in agreent. Soon, a terrifying battle between them and the demons ensued.
After they finished with the elder from before, Kranos and Kathryn continued on their way.
"Where is the ancient ruin you spoke of?" Kranos was curious as he spoke; he didn’t fully trust Kathryn, after all, they were strangers before now.
"It should take about a week to get there," Kathryn said with a light smile, and their journey continued smoothly. However, once again, they encountered an encirclent of magical beasts that had been slaughtered. Recalling sothing from her mories, Kathryn said to the others.
"Let’s increase our speed greatly. The ancient ruin is close." With that, they sped up and continued. Along the way, they encountered more demons but just went around them. Soon, they finally reached the place.
"Here’s the place," Kathryn said with a slight smile, leaving Kranos stunned. He stared ahead of him, which was just filled with trees and grasses, and muttered inwardly, "This is the ancient ruin? Is this a joke?" He stared at her in shock.
Noticing their confusion, she smiled slightly then explained, "I previously told you we require your help to explore an ancient ruin; opening the ruin is the difficult process and requires soone with the space elent. However, before that, we should wait for soone."
Nodding in understanding, Kranos’s eyes lit up; however, he couldn’t help but frown at her last statent. From the side, Kevin was also puzzled. He asked, "Who are we waiting for, sister?"
According to what his sister had told him, whatever was hidden in this space contained a terrifying treasure! One that could shake the vast Immortal World. However, his sister didn’t tell him they would need a second party to open the space.
"He is soone quite similar to Kranos, only different by quite a bit." A faint lancholic sigh escaped her lips as she spoke. With that, the trio decided to camp there and wait. Fortunately, they didn’t have to wait for too long, as the next day, a figure ca speeding through the forest. The figure was being chased by... a Monarch-realm demon???
Kranos and the others were shocked, while Kathryn seed as though she had expected this; however, her expression was still solemn nonetheless. She imdiately said to Kranos, "Quickly direct your elental essence through the space ahead of you. The space node should sense your mana and create a gap for you."
In all honesty, Kathryn didn’t want to wait for the young man, but she knew that in order for them to erge from the ruin alive, they could only depend on him. Kranos imdiately did as she said and channeled his elental essence into the vast space ahead.
He could instantly feel a suction force draining his elental essence, but he didn’t stop. anwhile, the young man approached them rapidly, vanishing at rapid intervals. It was obvious he had the space elent as well!
Although they were slightly surprised, they didn’t think too much about it. Upon closer look, one would notice the man’s disheveled black hair. He had a nonchalant expression despite being chased by a Monarch-realm demon. At this, Kevin and Kathryn were slightly surprised.
Just as the man was escaping from the pursuit, he noticed the two of them. He was imdiately overjoyed and called out, "Co, save ! This demon wants to kill !" Even though he had noticed that Kathryn and Kevin weren’t of the sa race as him, seeing them with Kranos made him understand that they weren’t enemies of humans.
In the blink of an eye, the man had reached where they were, not giving Kranos and the others a chance to react. Obviously, his spatial movent technique was of an extrely high grade! This was the only reason he could escape the pursuit of a Monarch-realm demon, despite being in the Dao Palace realm himself.
Seeing the man draw the attention of the demon to them, Kathryn’s face darkened slightly, and her eyes flashed with a faint killing intent. However, the man seed like he didn’t notice this and continued calling for their help.
Turning to Kranos, Kathryn spoke, "Please hasten up the process!" After she finished speaking, mana flowed through her verdant immortal veins, and she quickly increased her speed and rushed towards the carefree young man.
Seeing the beauty, the young man’s eyes lit up. In his heart, he muttered, "Elves are truly beautiful." "Quick, co and save !" the man shouted in a commanding tone. At this, Kathryn’s eyes flashed slightly with disgust; however, she didn’t hesitate and imdiately sent a wave of gigantic fireballs hurtling towards the ferocious demon heading towards them.
If it wasn’t for the fact that she needed the young man for a while, Kathryn wouldn’t have even cared about him. Her eyes flashed for a mont, and, muttering a few words, an even larger fireball erged from her small palm and headed towards the demon in an instant.
Just as she was about to engage in a battle with the demon, Kranos’s voice rang out. "I’m done!"
