Before Kranos could react, the mana device in his hand exploded into fragnts. But he had already anticipated sothing like this. Without hesitation, he hurled the device away and activated Space Flash, vanishing in an instant and appearing a few ters away.
Boom!
The mont Kranos disappeared, a violent explosion erupted where he had just stood. Shards of tal and energy scorched the area, sending shockwaves through the mansion.
Everyone stood frozen in shock. Seeing the extent of the destruction, Kranos sucked in a deep breath. If he were the one standing there, he would at least be half injured, and it wouldn’t just be minor injuries.
Such a display of power, and from a distance at that. Kranos was terrified inwardly. Thankfully, he anticipated that and imdiately teleported from there. Is this the power of dao palace? Kranos deeply felt a longing for such power but cald himself. it’s better to take things one at a ti; if i think too much, my thoughts might be led astray.
Ju Ming quickly approached, his eyes wide with concern. "What happened?!"
Kranos’s expression was grim. He hesitated for a mont, then decided it was best to share everything. This was no ti for secrets—if they were going to survive, he needed their full cooperation.
"I believe that explosion was the work of the mastermind," Kranos said. "And I’m certain now... the creature has reached the Dao Palace Realm."
"What?" Ju Ming was shocked. "the demon is already at the dao palace realm?" he was truly horrified.
One has to know that during that horrifying battle about 10 years ago the creature was only at the golden core realm! Now that the creature’s strength had increased once again, he was already starting to feel faint signs of despair.
The other elders were also shocked, especially those that were present during that terrifying battle. They turned to look at each other and could see the look of horror on their faces.
"If you have any trump card that can be useful, now would be a really good ti to use it," Kranos said.
Ju Ming nodded in agreent and advised an elder beside him, "sound the warning bell." after giving the order, he signaled to another guard beside him, "co with ."
Without another word, he rushed deeper into the mansion. Kranos watched him go with narrowed eyes. He and the others waited in the hall.
Deep within the mansion, Ju Ming entered a chamber that resembled a tomb. He stood before a stone platform and shouted with urgency in his voice...
"Ancestor! Please, help us one final ti! The creature from all those years ago has reached the Dao Palace Realm. We are at the brink of destruction!"
Silence filled the chamber.
Then, after several tense seconds, a tired voice echoed back with a sigh.
"I only wished to spend my final years in peace and solitude... Who would’ve thought that monster didn’t die from its grievous wounds, but instead beca even more terrifying?"
As soon as the voice faded, an old man with a walking stick ca out from the inner chamber of the tomb. The old man seed to emanate an aura of death, he had little to no hair and looked like soone that was just one step inside the grave.
"Grandfather!" Ju Ming bowed deeply towards the figure,"Please, lend us your strength one last ti to repel this evil demon."
"Stand up," Grandpa Ju said gently, waving his stick.
A soft gust of wind lifted Ju Ming from his knees.
"Co with ," the old man said and walked toward the silent hall.
...
After about ten minutes passed, Kranos and the others saw an aged figure appear in their line of sight. The figure looked extrely decrepit, and Kranos could only faintly sense a faint sll of death from the old man in front of them.
The elders greeted the figure with reverence. So recognized him imdiately and bowed. The old man’s sharp eyes scanned the group. When his gaze landed on Kranos, he paused, raising a brow in surprise.
He turned to Ju Ming, "brat, you managed to raise up a genius during this ti?"
Ju Ming gave a bitter smile. "No, Grandfather. This young man seems to have a mysterious background."
He glanced at Kranos with a complicated expression. "I tried to invite him into our family... but he refused every offer."
"Mysterious background, huh? Like he appeared out of thin air?" Grandpa Ju asked.
"Yes," Ju Ming replied seriously. "I questioned the villagers who ca with him. They said it was as though he was a savior sent by god to heal the villagers and save the world." he had even heard of Kranos’ amazing feats that he did while he was in the village, causing Ju Ming to be stunned.
Hearing his grandson’s words, a faint smile hung on the old man’s lips, he had lived longer so he naturally knew many secrets concerning certain things.
His mind drifted to a mory—when he was just a boy, there had been a group of youths, not much older than Kranos, who descended from the stars. They had taught them cultivation, knowledge, and changed the fate of their world. Is this one of them? he wondered.
He knew back then he had missed his opportunity to head to a bigger world but this ti he definitely wouldn’t miss this opportunity known as Kranos.
Seeing the old man’s expression, Kranos had already guessed certain things. The way the man looked at him changed slightly after hearing Ju Ming’s confirmation. the others didn’t notice it but Kranos was paying attention so he noticed it. He looked at the old man but said nothing; his expression remained neutral.
He sensed the old man’s cultivation; he wasn’t deliberately concealing it. Kranos soon raised an eyebrow in surprise; the old man was already at the peak of the golden core realm.
Sensing the probe, Grandpa Ju smiled gently.
"Young man," he said lightly, "weren’t you taught not to examine soone’s cultivation without permission?"
Kranos bowed slightly. "My apologies, Elder. I was... curious." He knew what he did was wrong but he wanted to satisfy his curiousity, it seed that they now had a slim chance of winning the battle.
Grandpa Ju didn’t mind; he turned to his grandson and the others and asked, "tell everything. What’s the current situation?"
