"Alright, Kranos, we'll start by learning how to speak the divine immortal language," said the middle-aged man as he held Kranos's hand and led him into the side room where the lessons would take place.

...

Six months later, inside the mini royal library, two people were talking. "But Uncle Luke, I can speak the divine immortal language fluently now. Don't you think it's ti I start learning about the history of this world?"

Luke let out a long, exaggerated sigh. "What am I supposed to do with you? If I say no, you'll go crying to your mother again—like last ti. I still haven't recovered from that scolding!"

"Then why don't you just go along with my plan and let learn about the history of this world?" Kranos pleaded.

"No way!" Luke shook his head firmly. "Your mother was clear. Only when you turn three years old are you allowed to learn about the outside world. There are only four months left—can't you just wait?"

"Sigh," Kranos put on a look of pity. "Uncle Luke, I guess I have no choice but to tell Mom that you haven't been teaching anything!"

"What? No!"

"Who do you think she'll believe? Her adorable, innocent son or... so random librarian?"

"You, you, you—! I'm not just so random librarian! I'm the royal librarian assigned to this small library!"

Kranos gave him a teasing smirk. "If you're so important, why are you stationed in a 'small' royal library and not the main one?"

Luke was speechless; he didn't expect Kranos to be so cunning and sharp-tongued.

"See?" Kranos grinned.

Luke sighed in defeat, "Fine. But you must promise not to tell your mother about this. And even if I don't teach you anything so days, you can't rat out, Deal?"

"Yes, Uncle Luke," Kranos readily nodded his head, but then he turned curiously to Luke, "But Uncle, could it be that you plan to skip classes?"

"Cough, cough, cough, how can that be? I'm just taking precautions for... Uh, when I fall sick. Cough," Luke replied awkwardly.

Hmph. As if a cultivator like you could fall sick. Don't think I'm ignorant about cultivators, Kranos thought to himself, rolling his eyes inwardly. Still, he didn't mind. Just gaining access to the library's books was already a huge favor. Everything else was secondary.

Luke turned to one of the upper shelves, pulled down a few books, and handed them over! "Here, start with this one!"

Kranos eagerly accepted and found a quiet corner to sit. The first book's title read: 'Basic Knowledge of the Immortal World.'

It seems that this is called the immortal world, but for it to be called a world, does that an that there are other worlds out there?

Kranos soon got his answer.

"The currently known realms are divided into three: the Mortal World, the Immortal World, and the Divine World. These divisions are based on what is currently known—there may well be more beyond them."

"In the Mortal World , the highest attainable cultivation rank is rank 5, also known as the Monarch Realm. The progression is as follows: Qi Condensation, Foundation Establishnt, Core Formation, Dao Palace, and Monarch."

"Upon breaking through to the sixth realm—God Incarnation—a cultivator opens the gate to the Immortal World, through which they can head to the Immortal World."

"In the immortal world, the highest attainable cultivation rank is rank 12—the Divine Realm. The realm progressions from rank 6 are as follows: God Incarnation, God Realm, God King, God Emperor, etcetera."

"There are many races in the immortal world, but seven are considered hegemon races: Humans, Demonic Beasts, Magical Beasts, Giants, Elves, Fairies, and the Major Races Alliance—which is an alliance of middle-sized races that combine their strength in order to stand on the sa level as the hegemon races."

"Humans awaken their cultivation root bone and elental affinity core between the ages of 7 and 10, depending on when they want to awaken, but once one passes this age, there would be little to no chance of awakening. Cultivation involves constantly evolving one's core and root bone to grow stronger. In a hundred people, only about 8-10 can awaken an elental affinity, while it is quite easy to awaken a root bone for cultivation."

"Although one can still cultivate quite easily without an elental affinity, they would be far weaker compared to opponents at the sa level with elental affinity. Both elental affinities and root bone are divided into grades: F, E, D... up to A, S, SS, SSS. The higher the grade of elental core, the stronger one's elental affinity would be, and the higher the grade of root bone, the faster one's cultivation would be."

"Magical beasts awaken unique physiques, also graded similarly—from physiques that are common, like enhanced strength, to extrely rare physiques, like mind reading and self-duplication."

"Magical beasts look similar to humans, with only so parts of them being similar to that of animals, for instance, cat ears or tails, bird talons, etcetera."

"After that cos demons with their demonic core; they are extrely ferocious, reproduce fast, and love to eat other races, which caused them to beco the enemy of all races. They can constantly evolve by eating living things. Of course they too have so unique powers."

Shock! Utter shock! Kranos was so engrossed in the book that he didn't realize the passage of ti; to think there are so many kinds of creatures here! I need to get stronger quickly. Kranos suddenly felt a sense of urgency; he didn't think this world would be so terrifying.

Although he knew that this world was beyond ordinary, he didn't think it would be so horrifying; just reading about the description of the creatures of this immortal world made him break out in a cold sweat.

"Calm your mind; even if the sky falls, you are too weak for now; there will be others to hold it up." At this mont a voice entered his ears; it sounded gentle, like a spring breeze cooling all Kranos's thoughts. He turned around to see a beautiful lady looking at him.

"Mother," Kranos said lightly, his thoughts now clear. That's right; there is nothing to be worried about. I will leave everything to Mom and Dad for now. When it is my ti to hold up the sky, I will not let any harm befall them.

Thinking this, he leaned forward and fell into his mother's embrace; in her warmth, he fell asleep.
