The king simply nodded, then glanced sharply at Kathryn. "The World Tree is dying."
"The World Tree?" Kathryn’s eyes widened in shock. She couldn’t believe it. How could the World Tree be dying? How could this be happening? She stared at her father, seeking confirmation, even though she knew he wouldn’t play such a cruel joke. Still, a seed of scepticism remained.
Kranos, listening from the side, felt his heart skip a beat. He recalled the ssage from the system: "Could it be because the system used the World Tree to transcend ti and show that vision? Is that the reason why the World Tree is dying?"
Many guesses swirled in Kranos’s mind, but he didn’t voice any of them. His expression remained neutral, as though he bore no responsibility. He listened with rapt attention as the father and daughter continued their conversation.
"The prophetess just sensed a large amount of life force drained from the World Tree. We believe this is a sign that the World Tree is dying," the king stated, unfazed by Kranos’s presence.
He trusted Kathryn, and since she had brought Kranos to the heart of the World Tree, he knew she was confident Kranos couldn’t harm it. Besides, he was rely a weak cultivator at the peak of the Golden Core Realm!
"But Father..." Kathryn bit her lip, deep in thought. She couldn’t understand how this had happened so abruptly. She glanced at Kranos from the corner of her eye, but then shook her head. She knew Kranos wouldn’t be responsible for this; after all, she knew him all too well.
anwhile, Kranos’s heart skipped a beat a second ti upon hearing the king’s words. He knew the system was definitely the one that had drained the World Tree’s life force.
The king continued, "All entrances to the heart of the World Tree are closed until further notice."
Kathryn nodded, feeling this was the best course of action. With the entrances sealed, they could study the tree and discover exactly what was wrong. After the king finished speaking, he led Kathryn and Kranos out of the chamber.
When they appeared outside the green portal, he perford a series of hand seals, muttering strange, incomprehensible words. The portal glowed green once again, then dimd as if its energy had been forcefully cut off.
"How mysterious and powerful!" Kranos exclaid in his heart. He was shocked by how, despite appearing to possess no cultivation, the elder was exceedingly strong—strong enough to seal the portal that had previously shimred with the energy of life!
After that, the king turned to Kathryn and used a spiritual transmission to tell her sothing secretly. Hearing his words, Kathryn’s expression changed slightly. She glanced at Kranos from the corner of her eyes, and a strange light flickered within them.
After the king departed, Kathryn smiled apologetically at Kranos. "Sorry about the abrupt end to our cultivation. There seem to be so... issues with the World Tree. Don’t worry, Father will resolve it soon." Kathryn bowed slightly, causing Kranos to feel... a warmth in his heart.
You don’t have to feel sorry. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have stepped into the Ti Palace Realm so soon, and I wouldn’t have comprehended... such an interesting ability. Kranos’s eyes flickered with a cunning light. He stared at Kathryn with a calculating look; ti seed to pause as he faintly felt that she was just like a... chess piece?
Afterwards, they headed to the castle, going to their separate rooms. Kranos waited until he saw Kathryn enter her room before entering his own. Feeling his gaze as she slowly walked into her room, a playful smile surfaced on Kathryn’s lips.
You can’t hold yourself anymore, Kranos, can you? It seems I will have my pawn sooner than I expect! Hehe!
Seeing that she had entered her room, Kranos sighed then stepped into his own. He was now safe to explore his cultivation and see what strange ability he had mastered. Besides, he had to enter the ti space to retrieve the new cultivation manual.
Stepping into his room, Kranos sat down and studied the technique displayed on his system panel.
[Congratulations on mastering the technique, Ti Absorption.]
[Ti Absorption: You no longer need to wait for ti points to be generated as you can absorb ti points from the ti of every object.]
Kranos read the description again, and it thundered in his mind. His eyes widened in shock, and he felt his breath still for a mont. "What sort of technique is this? How terrifying! How horrifying!"
"Is this the advantage of greatly altering the ti cultivation manual? If I alter it again, what kind of terrifying technique will I obtain?" Kranos could hardly suppress his excitent. He quickly wanted to take out the Ti Palace cultivation manual, but first, he had to study what this ability actually did.
[This is a unique ability that doesn’t require ti points to activate or keep active.]
Another line of words appeared in front of him, causing Kranos to be overjoyed, though he felt it was reasonable. Why would he use ti points to absorb ti?
"It seems that the ability itself offsets the cost," Kranos guessed. He sighed in relief, then stood up, walked to a table, and placed his hand on it. He felt his ti palace stir, and then a mysterious energy infiltrated every part of the table.
Kranos was shocked by the speed. The speed at which his ti field took over other ti fields had increased to at least 10 tis! He watched as the table disappeared in the blink of an eye.
It seed as though the ti core was being rapidly eaten up by his ti field. In the blink of an eye, the table had vanished into thin air.
[Gained 500 ti points.]
A notification appeared in his line of sight. Kranos stared at the notification with wide eyes. Just like that, he had gained so many ti points?
