Imdiately, Alex tried calling Mira back.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

But the call didn't even go through. He tried it multiple tis before stopping.

"What the fuck just happened!?" His breathing was ragged as he tried to rack his brain over what to do next. And soon enough, an idea popped into his head.

"Call Althea!"

This ti, the call actually went through and rang for about thirty seconds before it was picked up on the other end.

Althea's stony face showed up on the screen, giving off a cold air. It was different than the usual aloof coldness she showed to the outside world. This ti, she was really writhing with rage on the inside.

But before she could even question Alex for calling again so soon after he was the one to hang up all of a sudden, Alex shouted at her.

"WHERE IS MIRA'S LOCATION??"

Alex practically scread at the image, and everyone on the other side instantly turned silent, stunned by the sudden outburst. Even Althea was shocked out of her stony state for a second.

"Wha–"

"I'M NOT LOOKING FOR A CONVERSATION; TELL HER LOCATION. NOW!"

Althea attempted to question him, but she got nowhere. It was at this point that even she started to get nervous. What could have made Alex so agitated? Why was he so desperate to find out where Mira was located?

Her heart felt torn between answering Alex or hanging up on him to find out what was so important herself. Thankfully, she saw rationality and decided to give questioning him another go.

"What's going on? I won't give you an answer unless you tell !"

This was her daughter they were talking about! Even if Alex had already established that he was not to be trifled with – not to be treated like just another one of her underlings – she had to stand her ground!

"Her communication cut off abruptly after an explosion sounded! She was just attacked! NOW TELL !"

Althea's pupils narrowed into slits in that instant, looking as ferocious as a divine tiger. Her aura intensified to a point where nobody on the command deck could remain standing.

She pulled a tablet out from the hands of one of the unconscious staff nearby and searched for the information herself.

"The Bugonia System! That's where she is! But that's supposed to be one of the minor star systems we recently took over from the Harpy race. There's barely any value in that system other than its proximity to the galactic rim?"

"How far is that?" Alex rushed her.

"About 5000 light years from the main expedition force, and over 46,000 light years from… where the New Dawn system used to be. I've sent the coordinates."

If it weren't for Alex still there to delay her, she would already be on her way over.

Alex understood that as well and hung up the call without another word.

Spatial energy started to gather around him at incredible speeds. With the restrictions on his spatial teleportation talent lifted, the power it could produce now that it was at its peak tier of Ascendant was incredible.

In a single instant, Alex disappeared along with his ship, leaving the cosmic dust that was the New Dawn System to truly remain in darkness.

He reappeared in the middle of desolate, empty space a mont later. That single teleportation had taken him nearly 5000 light years away from his original location in the passage of a single second.

When he broke through to A tier, that figure would even double!

He rechecked the coordinates on his ship, then disappeared once again.

The sa process repeated itself eight tis, until Alex found himself in what could only be called the middle of a galactic battlefield.

"This can't be right…"

He glanced down once again at the coordinates Althea had sent him, barely believing what he was seeing.

She definitely described the Bugonia System as insignificant, yet the sight before Alex's eyes begged to differ.

He double-checked, triple-checked, but no matter what he did, the result stayed the sa.

This was the Bugonia System.

The place was in a state that even made his expression turn grave. There were ships of multiple design and origins that he didn't recognise, along with Lux and human ships clearly mixed in the middle of it.

He scanned the entire star system with his Spatial Perception and it seed as if there were no sides in this battle. Everyone was just fighting each other. Human, Lux, or any other unrecognised ship; everyone just shot at the first one that appeared in their sights regardless of whether they were friend or foe.

It was an all-out frenzy.

Alex was on the verge of calling Althea in a rage, asking for the real coordinates, until he saw the Jewel appear at the edge of the system through his Spatial Perception…

That caused a pit in his stomach.

He really was at the correct location.

But how could the Federation's information be so far off from the truth? To a point where even their highest commander was fooled?

'Forget about that; I need to find Mira!'

If Althea told the truth, then she had to be here sowhere.

However, even after scanning every nook and cranny of the star system, he couldn't detect any sign of her.

'Dammit, I can't sense her life signature.'

It was at that mont Althea appeared beside his ship. Alex joined her in the void of space, sending his ship back to Spatial storage now that it was no longer needed.

"Did you find her?" She asked, looking ready to smash planets apart if it was necessary.

Althea knew about Alex's ability to scan vast distances, which was leagues above her own. If anyone could find her, it was him.

"No, she could be hiding sowhere my Spatial Perception can't detect…"

Alex felt like he found the answer after speaking.

Sowhere even he couldn't detect, sowhere nobody could find her.

'Don't tell you actually went there, Mira…'

Alex knew she would only make that decision if she were desperate.

"The Void..."
