Alex hadn't even considered this until now, but how on earth was he supposed to make his way back to the outside universe!?

Was he just stuck in the Primordial Expanse forever now that he no longer had a connection to the System?

Or was there still so way he could find his way back…

'Surely Mikhail must have considered this, right…?'

Alex was pinning his hopes on the mighty Universal God to have thought about all the future challenges that Alex might face in the future.

And although he hadn't even considered until now that his exit might be a problem, surely Mikhail had?

He'd had an uncountable amount of years to co up with his plan though… so Alex's hopes were high.

'What if I just… produce my desire to exit just like normal?'

He hadn't fulfilled the requirent of having to rank up before he could leave, but did that even matter anymore?

The only question that mattered was whether that was a requirent set by the System, or by so other force?

If it was set by the System then…

"I want to leave." Alex voiced his desire aloud.

Rumble!

Crumble!

Crash!

Nothing of noteworthy ntion happened.

No sounds were produced, no prompt appeared before him, asking him if he was certain of his choice.

All that could be heard was the still ongoing destruction of the Dead Realm.

Though, this only lasted for a few seconds before…

Whoosh!

The wind gradually started to pick up, reversing its flow into the direction in front of Alex.

At first it started slow, but its speed exponentially picked up until they were so extre it distorted the air between Alex and the rest of the Basin!

Strangely though, no dust, debris, or anything from the surrounding area had been picked up in the torrential winds, leaving quite a baffling scene for Alex to witness in his own bewildernt.

By now, he knew that sothing must have happened.

Sothing was going on.

'Did it really work!?'

His excitent increased, and just as the wind started to beco unbearable even for him with his extrely tough body, it completely stopped.

There was no gradual decrease in speed.

It just completely stopped… like ti itself had stopped.

But Alex knew it had nothing to do with ti, since the environnt surrounding him was still collapsing.

And in the next mont, a small, imperceivable black dot appeared in the dead space in front of Alex.

It was only the size of an atom, but before Alex could even comprehend what was going on, it grew to the size of Alex himself.

Its growth stopped there.

Alex recognised what this was instantly.

He had seen them before, each ti he had previously wished to exit or enter the Primordial Expanse.

Only this ti he wasn't being forcefully sucked into it…

'Is this what I think it is? Can I really leave?'

Alex was skeptical, but he trusted his guts.

It couldn't be a coincidence that this portal had appeared right before his eyes after expressing his desire to return.

But that feeling at the back of his mind still remained.

What if this was a ploy by the System? What if he really did have to find so other way to leave, and the System was taking this perfect opportunity to trick him into thinking it really was that simple?

Did the portal really lead to the outside universe, right at the spot he had entered the Primordial Expanse?

'I wouldn't put it past the System to try sothing like this… In fact, I wouldn't put it past the System to try anything no matter how despicable it might be, but surely sothing as important as this would have been brought up by Mikhail beforehand if so.'

Even though he still felt apprehensive about entering the portal, Alex decided to place his trust in Mikhail instead.

The man was much older, wiser and more powerful than him.

If he didn't see any need to speak up about sothing like this before he sacrificed himself, then Alex trusted that it wasn't as deep as he suspected.

Maybe the portal really was just as normal as every other, leading back to the outside universe without a fuss.

'Now that I think about it, if this was sothing from the System, wouldn't it had forced into it the mont it stabilised like every other ti?'

Pushing every doubt and thought aside, Alex stepped forward and into the portal, forcing his quickened heartbeats to slow down as he did so.

At the last mont before he disappeared from the face of the Primordial Expanse, so lingering thoughts did make their way through.

What if he was overestimating the power and intelligence of a Universal God's ability to predict and foresee all this?

What if…

Thud.

All of Alex's doubts were cleared in the next mont.

A familiar sight greeted his eyes.

His ship.

He was quite impatient back then, deciding to enter the Primordial Expanse from his ship orbiting a gas giant in the Federation's newly coined 'New Dawn' star system that they'd claid through their, and Alex's, hard work.

Now though, he realised how silly he was for choosing to do sothing as rash as this.

He could have at least chosen to do it on solid ground, with the safety of a planet's surface to protect him!

Thankfully, the Primordial Expanse, the System, or whatever was in control of transporting people between the Primordial Expanse and the outside universe didn't take people back to their exact spatial coordinates, as there woulb be chaos if it did.

People already knew that they were taken back to the exact spot they left, not in space, but to any location they were tied to.

If they were in their ho on a planet, they'd be taken back there even if the plant's orbit, or whole star system's orbit, had shifted in the anti.

For Alex, it simply ant that he was placed directly back on his ship, even if it was on the other side of the universe by the ti he got back…

This was why he felt foolish for choosing this place.

And he was right to be concerned.

That gas giant he was orbiting when he left?

It was no longer there…
