Since this was perhaps the only break they'd get for the foreseeable future, Alex, Mira and many other people in the fleet that had arrived in the Jewel's orbit decided to take a tour of the huge fortress.

After all, seeing it from above and actually entering inside it were two very different experiences.

Many of the prodigies sighed in admiration as well as had complex emotions when they looked at the huge fortress.

'Sigh, it seems technology is starting to catch up with us…'

So of them, in particular the lower class prodigies who had less potential and were only considered above average compared to the normal awakened, could see glimpses of the future where the Federation relied less and less on them and instead opted to use technology that could do their job just as well.

This idea was long thought of, but never did people think it would start coming so soon.

Since they could build a weapon even more powerful than their most powerful awakened in the Federation, what would stop them from creating less powerful weapons that were much cheaper and easier to handle, instead of using awakened?

Not to ntion that these weapons could be operated by normal, unawakened people…

However, while there were so bleak thoughts on the subject, if they cared to do more research into it, they would realise that technology would likely never replace the need for awakened.

Soon enough, a slew of ships flew across and entered one of the many entry ports into the Jewel.

There were a large number of space stations embedded into what was effectively a large space station itself, but because of its astronomical size, this was the most optimal solution.

So were for military use, like the current Federal expedition fleet, while so of them were for more public use, like for those lone wolf awakened or squads of awakened that didn't want to be tied down to the Federation's rules when out exploring Androda.

Of course, not every one of these public squads were for the good of the Federation.

Many of them were pirates, or anti-federation forces in disguise, or just from so large financial groups that wanted a piece of the action.

But since the Federation didn't really have the ti to deal with all of them, they just let each one pass with a routine inspection unless there were glaringly obvious holes in their information.

When it ca down to it, these criminals and anti Federal forces could be dealt with when everyone had reached Androda, and they could finally reveal their true colours.

But Alex doubted they would try anything any ti soon, since the Federation's fleet planned on sticking together for the first leg of the journey and would only splinter off into different cells when they felt confident enough that they had secured an area for themselves and could go and explore further beyond for more opportunities.

But the likelihood was that the Federation and those forces might simply just never encounter each other when on the other side.

The universe was simply just too vast.

And considering there were 2.5 million light years of dead space followed by a galaxy over twice the size of their own on the other side, people should count their lucky numbers if they encountered soone else.

But sothing Alex found interesting was that while the 2.5 million light years of space between the Milky way and Androda was largely thought to be empty, it wasn't entirely empty per se.

There were so dwarf galaxies dotted about here and there, only a few thousand or even just a few hundred light years in diater, which the Federation may or may not take interest in depending on whether they encounter them on their journey.

The likelihood was that those lone wolves and outside adventure squads would target these dwarf galaxies rather than the huge Androda.

Finally, Alex's ship and the others stopped at a military use space station, and the doors of his ship opened, letting the parties interested in taking a break in this place flood out in droves.

The Jewel had clearly undergone so special engineering, as even though it was a huge floating tal ball in the void of space, the temperature and atmosphere inside was actually quite nice and refreshing.

At the mont though, there was already soone waiting for the groups of people who had just exited their ships.

She wore an elegant military uniform, clearly denoted differently than the other soldiers, so she was higher up in the food chain.

If Alex had to guess, she was probably one of the leaders of this place.

She was a beautiful woman with shoulder length black hair, and her military uniform fit her curves quite nicely, making her look both stoic and elegant.

However, Alex was more interested in the fact that she gave off a similar feeling to Admiral Olgierd and Principal Farnes, since he couldn't sense a single thing from her.

'Forget being a leader of this place, she is probably THE leader!'

Could it be that this woman was another S tier, and a pretty strong one at that?

However, just as Alex was ruminating in his thoughts, beside him, Mira's eyes widened to the size of saucers.

She stamred and exclaid in shock.

"M-mo-"

But she stopped herself before finishing her words.

However, Alex was paying enough attention that he caught what she said.

'The fuck??'

"Did you just say she's your mo-"

Mira covered Alex's mouth with her hands, not bothering to hide the absolutely disdainful, hateful look on her face at the mont.

'Damn??'

'This woman is actually Mira's mother??'

Alex was stunned as he looked at the camo dressed lady.

And he noticed that she was looking back at him, or at Mira since he couldn't really tell, but her face was blank.

It was hard to tell what she was thinking in that mont, or if she even had any care at all.

But it was clear that Alex had just found himself in a very uncomfortable situation…

'Fuck… I shouldn't have bothered to co down here!'
