The sound of clinking armour and boots echoed through the Iron Vultures' compound as the gang's mbers rushed to secure their positions.

Vira and Corax had mobilised everyone with chilling efficiency, knowing that Alex's reputation alone would test the ttle of even their most seasoned fighters.

Traps were being set, explosives positioned, and patrol routes established.

By now, every mber understood the stakes: if they failed, the Iron Vultures were done for.

As the preparations reached a fever pitch, Corax retreated to his personal quarters, a dimly lit space that contrasted sharply with the chaos outside.

Here, he allowed himself a mont to reflect on what lay ahead.

He knew the stories, heard whispers in the underground of Alex's brutal efficiency, as word spread very quickly throughout the galaxy about stuff like this, especially when it concerned figures like Alex who had such a huge bounty placed on his head.

Corax had seen talented fighters before, but none who left a trail of bodies across the galaxy quite like Alex.

Yet, this ti, Corax felt confident.

They weren't going to et Alex head-on; they would break him down thodically.

anwhile, Vira moved through the compound, her eyes sharp, inspecting every line of defence.

Her strategy had always been her greatest asset.

Years of dealing with rival gangs had taught her that brute strength alone would only get them so far — survival depended on exploiting every weakness, every hesitation, and every mont of indecision in their enemies.

Vira wasn't prepared to lose the empire she, Corax, and the now dead Garmis had built to so rogue fighter with a grudge.

She entered a room where her lieutenants gathered around a city map.

"Here's the layout. The key to this plan is maintaining control of the vantage points. Alex can't gain any ground if we're dictating every corner he turns."

Her tone was firm, giving no room for interpretation.

"And Mira — she's to be isolated. If any of you see her, do not engage. Simply relay her position to , and let handle her. If Alex loses sight of her, he'll hesitate, giving us the upper hand."

Her lieutenants nodded, their expressions grave.

Everyone knew they were gambling with their lives.

But the promises of wealth, power, and the thrill of taking down a legend were too enticing to ignore.

One of the lieutenants raised his hand.

"Vira, if Mira is separated from Alex, won't that make her more dangerous, not less? She'll fight tooth and nail to get back to him."

Vira's gaze hardened.

"True, but desperation has a funny way of clouding judgent. The more frantic she becos, the more predictable her movents will be. That's exactly what we need. She may be a threat, but alone, she's easier to predict."

The lieutenant nodded, reassured by her reasoning.

The eting continued with the precision of a military briefing as they ironed out every last detail of the trap.

As the day wore on and preparations were finalised, a subtle tension filled the compound. Night was falling, casting long shadows over the city.

The Iron Vultures waited in silence, nerves fraying as they braced themselves for the fight of their lives.

In the hours that followed, a calm descended on the compound, a deceptive peace settling over the chaos.

Many of the fighters clutched their weapons with white knuckles, so praying quietly, others murmuring to themselves as they ntally prepared for battle.

From her vantage point on a rooftop overlooking the city, Vira watched the skyline, her gaze unwavering.

The city felt ominously still, like the air before a storm. She knew Alex was coming; it was just a matter of when.

She had stationed herself here purposefully, choosing a spot that gave her a clear view of the compound's periter.

This was her stronghold, the place where she and Corax would face down their most formidable enemy yet.

As she watched the horizon, her thoughts drifted montarily to Garmis.

His arrogance had been his downfall, and though she had her own pride, Vira would never underestimate Alex. Not like that fool did.

Suddenly, a faint movent caught her eye — a shadow slipping through the darkness, moving quickly but with calculated purpose.

Vira's pulse quickened. She keyed her communicator, her voice a tense whisper.

"Corax, he's here. I see movent on the north periter."

Corax's response was imdiate.

"Good. Let him co. We've waited long enough."

The Iron Vultures snapped into action as Corax gave the command.

The gang's forces moved into place, each operative in their assigned location, every trap and explosive ticulously prid.

Alex would have to navigate a labyrinthine gauntlet to reach them.

Elsewhere, in the depths of the city, Alex and Mira made their way through the maze of buildings and alleyways to keep their movents to a minimum.

However, contrary to the knowledge of Corax and Vira, Alex and Mira had already deduced everything they had planned for them.

Well, nearly everything…

Their spatial perceptions only covered a majority of the city, not all of it, after all.

But that was more than enough to sense the movents of each and every criminal, thug, or gang mber that were apart of the Iron Vulture's plans.

At the current mont, they were just on the outskirts of the city, still outside of the periter the Iron Vultures had set up for them.

But they knew this wouldn't last for long.

While their spatial perception could detect all of the Iron Vulture's movents, including even Corax and Vira's, it didn't allow them to eavesdrop on any conversations that were to be had, so they still lacked information in that departnt.

All Alex and Mira knew was that they were currently being stalked, and hunted like they were so sort of prey.

But this would all co undone in just a few monts… Continue your adventure at empire

Alex gave Mira a look, one that she understood clearly without having to exchange any words with each other.

'It's ti to start!'

Alex thought to himself.
