In the dark expanse of an unknown region of space, far beyond the reach of the Milky way, a ship drifted silently.
It was an enormous vessel, sleek and organic in design, like it had been grown rather than built.
Its hull shimred with a faint, otherworldly light, reflecting the cold glow of distant stars millions of light years away.
Inside, the atmosphere was eerily calm, almost serene — yet it was heavy with power.
In a large chamber at the heart of the ship, six alien figures stood around a shimring projection, silhouetted by the dim light.
They were tall and regal, each one of a different species, looking both terrifying and magnificent in their stature.
Their eyes glowed faintly as they focused on the scene before them — a live feed of the Telorn system.
The scene was of the barren, desolate planet.
Gorath.
They watched as a lone figure, clad in gleaming crimson armour, went from city bunker to city bunker and slaughtered with no end or rcy.
The Red Demons had no hope.
Bunkers were hidden beneath the surface to both protect themselves from the scorching rays of the sun, but to also hide them away from any prying eyes.
But in front of the figure's scanners, and even his own spatial perception, the surface of the planet left them no protection.
Now, they were all just left as glass and obsidian sculptures carved into the very earth, visible even from space.
The figure carved through them all effortlessly, turning every living thing he ca across into glass.
Alex.
He had been hunting for days, annihilating every Red Demon city he ca across, showing no rcy.
Now, in the deepest parts of Gorath, he found that he had only scratched the surface of Gorath, literally.
Yet to the six figures watching him from so far away, it was more than a passing curiosity.
"Impressive."
One of the beings, a tall, silver skinned figure with glowing, pupil-less eyes remarked.
His voice was calm, almost bored.
"For a C rank, that is."
The others exchanged similar glances, but none showed any sign of real awe or concern.
To beings of their power, the destruction wrought by Alex, no matter how devastating it appeared, was little more than a flicker in the cosmos.
"A C rank Variant, yet he's shown potential."
Another, female figure said, in an almost condescending tone.
"Slaughtering a planet's worth of those little Red things is impressive, yes. But potential is all it is."
"Now, now, Lucia. Not every race is able to produce a C rank able to do this. You mustn't be so judgental just because you are from a higher class race."
A third figure, shorter but with a densely muscular fra, leaned inward and gently scolded the female figure, Lucia.
The others nodded in agreent with the shorter figure, returning their collective gazes to the scene of Alex as she stood atop the ruins of yet another Red Demon city.
"But,"
Said a fourth voice, belonging to a figure whose entire body was encased in shifting, iridescent armour.
"He's persistent. Single minded. His ability to harness that interesting talent is… noteworthy. And that spatial Awareness of his, while his affinity for the elent seems abysmal, seems to be boosted by sothing. That could be useful in the right context."
The silver skinned figure waved a hand dismissively.
"He is still only a human, bound by the limitations of his race."
"Yes, he has potential, but that is all. He is far from being ready to face any real challenges this universe has to offer, let alone sothing on our scale."
A fifth figure, whose form was completely cloaked in shadow, finally spoke.
"Perhaps. But his rage drives him. That kind of fury can be molded, sharpened. We all know the importance of emotions. He could be made into sothing more, if handled correctly."
The sixth and final figure, whose face was concealed behind a mask glowing faintly with shifting runes, nodded slowly.
"For now, he's still a pawn in a small, isolated conflict. This galaxy is insignificant in the grand sche of things, just one of many trying to cent itself in the universal hierarchy."
"But it's interesting…"
The masked figure continued, looking genuinely interested and curious this ti.
"I have to agree with Shadow. His thirst for blood, his rage and hatred for this Red Demon race is boundless. And that makes him dangerous."
"Dangerous to them."
The silver one added in a quick witted remark.
"Not to us."
The scene flickered briefly in their minds, showing Alex as he stepped into a fissure he created, descending into the depths of Gorath after having found out about their mining operations deep in the Planet.
"Not yet he isn't. But if his will and emotions are harnessed well, then soday in the far future he might be."
The masked figure spoke, and the group fell into silence soon after.
It was impossible to tell what any one of them were thinking at that mont.
The shorter, wiser figure finally spoke again. His tone was final.
"For now, let him have his vengeance. We will be arriving at his race's core planet in a few seconds. We'll decide what to do with him there."
After he spoke, the enormous ship humd to life, and in front of it a colossal worm hole opened up, before closing barely a few monts later, having sucked the enormous ship inside like it was nothing more than an afternoon snack.
Alex had no idea that he was being watched by this group of mystical beings, nor would he have even cared if he did know.
What could he do about it?
Who was there to complain to about them?
Instead, he would be more interested in hearing about this nurturing of the will and emotions they spoke about.
But regardless, he was more focused on digging through Gorath's crust and mantle to get to the hidden Red Demon mining operation in the current mont.
